I've been a fan of his since 1992, he is a powerful singer, he's a great songwriter, he wrote this song about a real Vietnam Vet named Sandy cane, this song is how he got his first recording contract. He also writes or cowrites most of his songs.

I ❤ this song. Played it at my dad's funeral.😢he was a Veteran. It fit him so well.

Thank you for bringing this song into the light again. In my life I have known veterans who served in WWI, WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam, and Desert Storm. I have been dedicated to my career, but I am also envious of their reverence for this country, what it represents, and what it offers us all. Thank you to all veterans.

Mia first off thank you from the bottom of my heart for recognizing the veterans from the present and the past the ones who fought and didn't make it back this was a proper song and reaction. I also want to thank all my veteran brothers and sisters in arms who went before me and the ones who are presently serving thank for protecting our freedom if it wasn't for them we wouldn't be here as the Mee Gee family love every single one of you.
