Fun fact, the beat switch on Nights occurs exactly halfway through the album’s run time And it signals a tonal and lyrical shift between the first and second halves of the album

This album is like heart break medicine. Soul cleansing. So ahead of its time. Perhaps too complex for some to even understand, it will run right past those who aren’t ready for it. But it is clearly the best album of our generation , and will go down as one of the greatest pieces of music of all time. Its been three years almost and i still listen to it everyday, and still blown away every time i hear it. Every sound is perfect. It is a flawless album. I could talk about it for hours. A true gem, we are blessed to live in the frank ocean generation.

"I'll do anything for you..... in the dark." This repetition hits me in my SOUL everytime. The honesty, euphoria, vulnerability and shame all wrapped in that line is jaw-dropping.

I can tell how hard most of this album hit you Jon, just wanna say that we all appreciate you!

thing is blonde is not an album that most of us loved the first time. u listen to it over and over and that’s where you notice how amazing it is and it slowly climbs to one of our favorites ever

that involuntary "awhhahh" during the ending of Self Control is the best way to describe this album as a whole

I WISH I could hear this album for the first time again. I remember that Self Control & Good Guy hit me so hard. There is something so vulnerable about those tracks. The way he sings in Good Guy feels like he's so disappointed and defeated. "You text nothing like you look" feels so strangely accurate.

Haven't even finished it but I know JD the Prophet is about to give me some open-minded commentary on the mesmerizing blonde boy

I get chills every time i listen to this album all the way through. Everyone should give it a listen from start to end at least once. Frank Ocean is for sure my favorite artist.

Endless will blow your mind

I've watched like 10 different reaction videos of this album and yours is easily the best. Not because of the fact that you cried a few times but because you're the only one listening to this album properly. Everyone else is either just jamming to the instrumentals and ignoring the lyrics or they're overanalyzing the lyrics and messages too much and not processing the rest of the music. The best way to fully experience this album is to listen to it the way you did. I also hope you listened to it more than once because this album grows with each listen. Possibly more than any album I've ever heard.

The experimental half of this album grows on you an extreme amount after multiple listens. White Ferrari is my favorite track on the album, it just melds the experimental style with the smoothness of the first half so gently and beautifully. The outro on that song sounds so inspired by Bon Iver. This album is incredible and a pinnacle of experimental music, impossible to define with a single genre.

This album came out 2 months after my daughter was born, its been 4 years and I still put her to sleep to this album and the music just relaxes her. This record will always be special to her and I.

End of godspeed be hitting me like a train😪

I've heard Self Control hundreds and hundreds of times, but I STILL get goosebumps during the second part.

I think you should watch Frank's Good Guy performance live at panorama NYC, easily one of the most powerful live performances there has, and will ever be

Fun fact: Jonny Greenwood, lead guitarist of Radiohead and Oscar nominated composer worked on the album and among other things did the string section on Seigfried. Was just reminded of that when you talked about the Radiohead influence:)

For me, it wasn’t Self-Control that hit me in this album, it was Seigfried. It was the first song in this album that I heard actually. Something about him saying “One solar flare we’re consumed so why not, spend this flammable paper on the film that’s my life, high flights, inhale the vapour and think twice, eat some shrooms, maybe have a good cry, about you. See some colours, light hang glide off the moon, in the dark.” Was nearly in tears once the song ended

I MADE IT! Awesome video Jon. This is one of those albums I wish I could go back and hear for the first time again, beautiful and brave the whole way through. I think this setup works really well for the more experimental albums like this, Some Rap Songs, Atrocity Exhibition, Avantdale Bowling Club, etc. It's cool you get to soak it all in. I hope more like this to come, and you find more music you love :)

Jesus, I love Frank so much. Been listening to him for years and years and his music never loses it's glimmer. Makes me tear up and is so incredibly nostalgic for me. Found him when I was in high school, and brings me back to that time and those feelings every time I listen to him. There is something so special about him that will always strike a chord with me.
