He died in 1991 at 45. Besides missing his beautiful face & performances, I always think of how much music he could have written & performed through all these years.

Honey, You just PERFECTLY summed up the eternal Freddie “addiction” we have: “It’s crazy how you can love someone and miss someone that you’ve never met.”💕

This song was written by his close friend for a musical. If I remember there is a man chosen to defend mankind to some galactical high court. If he fails to make the case that humans are worthy to continue, they will all be destroyed. What always strikes me about Freddie is how emotionally aligns his voice to they lyrics. You can hear the prayer in his voice at the end, "Help me God...Oh please help me."

Yes we all sure do miss him, even though most of us never actually met him. This song was featured in the 1986 musical " Time ". It was later released as a single in 1992 and reached number 8 in the UK singles charts. Thank you for doing this one!

It's not actually a Freddie or Queen song, it comes from a musical Freddie took part in called Time I think he sang three or four songs in the show, which was put together around 1986 by a friend of his Dave Clark, so some your hear aren't actually his own, but after Fred passed away Queen put together some videos and the Queen sound on songs they'd recorded. The three Dr Brian May ( astrophysicist) Roger Taylor and Fred all had solo careers running alongside Queen, John Deacon had one but behind the scenes, he didn't actually enjoy being out front which is why you'll never see him doing Guitar solo's, and the way they work together in the group with Fred being the lead singer, they would work by eye and Fred might say during the concert, slow something down, speed up, even cut a song as he'd get a better idea of the audience, don't forget they started over 50 years ago which I actually remember, and they didn't have any technology singers might use today, and they never wanted the records too sound the same live and vice versa, otherwise the fans might as well just listen to the record, and no two concerts sounded the same, even if it was two nights in the same place, and a lot of audience participation, even from the early days they invited fans to take part in music videos, as outgoing as Fred might appear on stage he was actually quite shy and private, likewise the other three as well and have never taken fame as a given extremely humble unassuming group who are always inclusive of all their fans worldwide

So my dear Mia, let me share with you a beautiful love story. Freddie Mercury was a huge fan of the ballet and opera. Once while attending a performance of opera saw Monsterrat Caballe, a world famous Spanish operatic soprano perform. He was immediately impressed with her voice and while in Spain in 1986 on tour, he told a tv interviewer how much he admired her. His people contacted her people and they got together and made an album together. That album was Barcelona. The music will take your breath away. Check out the following. Barcelona Guide me home/ How can I go on The Golden boy Ensueno

You left out EXERCISES IN FREE LOVE. Freddie “sang” it as a demo for Monserrat so she could hear the melody. His voice is jaw droppingly awesome, as he sings in her style. She loved it, and that song became ENSUENO.

One of my fav vocals by Freddie! 💖 Written by Dave Clark (The Dave Clark Five) Jeff Daniels (Hollywood Actor) & one other co-writer for the musical TIME. Originally performed by Freddie & Cliff Richard for the musical. 🎼 FYI - Dave Clark was a good friend of Freddie’s and was with him when he passed away 11/24/91. 🥺🥀🥀

Now you're getting into his later years...during his fight with illness he still was working as much as he could even if only in the studio. Some of his recording was finished up by the rest of the Queen band mates. Made in Heaven the last album with Freddie and was release in 1995 even though he died in 1991 when Innuendo came out ....I've always thought "These are the days of our lives" and "Show must go on" which are on that album were a amazing way to give a bow at the end of it all to the crowd

Definitely a contender for his best vocal. Very few can do what Freddie did. When he sang and performed, he felt it & he made everyone else feel it too. It’s like when a good friend shares something big with you. You can’t help but be drawn in to their emotion.

Wow nostalgia. I was 15 years old when this song came out, I loved the song then and I've always loved Queen, I grew up with them and they were part of my childhood. There's lots of other bands I love too, old and new, and I haven't listened to Queen or Freddie too much in recent years, but when I do I get a renewed love and appreciation for them and their music. I'm 45 now, I haven't heard this song for years, and I've listened to this now with a whole perspective, the emotion came flooding out and it brought a tear to my eye. It must be me getting old lol.

I struggle too with Freddie's situation, as I'm sure all the people here do, even though I was only 4 when he died. There are some days I can't even watch "These are the Days of our Lives" even though I want to. "Love me Like There's No Tomorrow" is another, I know you did that and I believe that's a solo performance. Keep up the good work Mia, I think you're doing great with these!

Hi Mia. I've mentioned Dire Straits to you before and you kindly reacted to Sultans of Swing which you seemed to like. With the War going on in Ukraine, a really great song to react to would be "Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms Live (On the night)" version. It is really beautiful, moody and moving. Performance wise it is right up there with Pink Floyd and so topical right now.

As always, one should never presume to infer autobiographical details about to singer based on the lyrics of the song he or she is singing. In this case, the song wasn't even written by Freddie mercury, it was written for a Brritish musical buy a British singer who was once one of the most popular singers in his country ( Dave Clark).

@@kevinoriordan7387 at his home it shows him as cold and uncaring to his family.claims he changed his name legally. he didn't and his mother said he was nervous telling her of his stage name. at the press conference the way he spoke to the female interviewer was disgusting and he had never done anything like that. he said his family died in a firey wreck, he never spoke like that.would never say something like that about his family. his parents came to early gigs.the film implied he was ashamed of them, disrespectful... they interviewers kept accusing him of lying again and implying he was ashamed of his sexuality. a journalist asked if he was bent he replied oh you crafty cow yes Im as gay as a daffodil! he camped it up as far as he could but couldn't make statements about his sexuality because of his family and it could effect the band. Brian said he had a go at Freddie for having gay overtones in songs because he saw it as separatism. he left Mary for David but the film just shows him sneaking around trying to figure himself out and he didn't have any relationships with men until Jim which in the film he chased after Jim when he knew he had AIDS!? Freddie and Joe split up because he couldn't cope with not being open in public about their relationship because of homophobia and how it would effect the band the film portrays him as not wanting relationships. that scene with Paul is horrible Freddie saying about himself that he is rotten so of course he will attract rotten people!? the film implied AIDS was a priority that the virus was discovered in 83, it was 84 and in 85 was the first tests but not to diagnose but to check blood donations it was only that they were scared a lot of gay men would use this to check their blood a test was available in 86 the film implies lots of information was given,it was seen as a priority to find a cure. no one gave a damn the US Gov didnt even address it until 86 film is disrespectful to him and others who were treated badly the film shows Freddie as selfish toward Mary about her being pregnant, this makes no sense to even include this, she expected her first child 4 years after and he was very supportive and happy for her and had been with Jim for years portrayed him as living alone and not having any friends only Paul claiming he was selfish and wanting to leave the band for a solo career which isnt true constantly showing him turn up late ..having a dismissive attitude to john who wouldn't have had his music on the album without Freddie 'Queen is what I say it is' wtf!? general attitude and characterization of Freddie was very wrong. even for Bo Rap No 1 for 9 wks and they don't even refer to this in the film!? only show lots of bad headlines from music press KQ was their first UK hit at no 2 but dont show that, their first to chart in us at no 12 but only say the album charted in the us so thats why they toured us they show Freddie as a nuisance they have to deal with they imply he simply joined smile and carried on with what they had established nothing to show that they had given up on perusing music and Freddie had a very different idea for a new band to what they were doing and he pushed forward to have more of an identity and show, lights, audience interaction. none of this was shown. they implied it was Brians idea to have an audience participation song and he was keeping everything together Im sure I could think of more examples but they showed Freddie as very different to how he was which a lot of people have believed little things annoyed me how Rami kept slapping everyone bums and crowd surfing... but it was how he spoke and his mannerisms, were awkward and he didn't portray him as confident and it gives the wrong idea of their actual story
