This song was a collaboration between Queen and David Bowie, and is thought by many to be the best rock collaboration of all time. The song was a duet between Freddie and David. In this performance, Freddie is singing David Bowie's part and Roger Taylor (drums) is singing Freddie's part of the duet. This song crossed over a lot of genres and was recorded and released by both Queen and David Bowie. Unfortunately, Freddie and David were never able to work out a time to make a video of this song but there is a fan generated copy (a very good one, BTW) that took this performance and inlayed portions of David Bowie doing this song with the remaining members of Queen at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. Thank you for reacting to this performance.

yeah most concerts Freddy had a little sing a long somewhere in the performance...noticed its seems like partly a warm-up for him too.....or maybe like a little break just to play to loosen up his voice mid show...and its surprising how good he conducted the audience. Like pushing them and spreading the joy of music though themselves just singing. Might have said this before but really a Queen concert is almost like going to church, the music aspect of it I mean. Its almost spiritual in nature IMO
@marciebulsaraorcutt

I’ve read that before by people who were lucky enough to see Queen live… They said that especially in the smaller indoor venues, then adding in all the specialized lighting effects, that it was almost “a religious experience”.😁

This song was co-written and recorded with David Bowie, who visited the band in their studio in Montreux, but later Bowie wasn't really satisfied with it. Before I started my Queen journey I thought it's a Bowie song, I prefer the Queen version 😁 especially with Freddie onstage.🤣

Roger Taylor, Queens Drummer, was an excellent vocalist on his own right. He sang many of the high notes on Bohemian Rhapsody. His voice was legitimately good enough to front a rock band. He does sing lead on a couple Queen songs such as I'm in love With My Car and Keep Yourself Alive. On the Under Pressure song here he actually is singing the part Freddie did on the recording while Freddie sang David Bowie's part.

Believe it or not BUT the part at the beginning is NOT as improvised as you think from Freddie’s point of view as this was how he actually warmed up his vocals just before going on stage to perform a show. But you can see on his face as he starts he wonders if the crowd would fall for it and they did. Freddie was once asked a now infamous question. “Apart from the piano what instruments do you play?” His reply????? “The Audience darling”
