I have some hour long videos and the only editing I'm willing to do is cut the parts where I forget to turn the camera off. Pete's job is more video editor than atv rider. And he's fantastic at it.
Growing up 15 miles away from these dunes sometimes makes me forget how amazing they are but it was extremely enjoyable to watch you enjoy them so much.
I know right?!?! When I started looking to buy a quad I came across him on here and instantly knew I wanted a raptor! The way he gets out and acts like a kid is just awesome!
I've been riding dirt bikes and quads for the last 25 years. I have been to Glamis and watched umpteen videos of Glamis. This is some of the best footage I have seen and truly captures the experience. Two thumbs up for an outstanding video.
Thank you very much man! That's extremely rewarding to hear! I worked hard on this video and it truly was one of the best days of my life! I cant wait to return to share even more of this epic stretch of dunes. Happy riding man! 😊🤘
As a Florida boy I spent four years living out there in California and had the opportunity to ride in Glamis many times. It’s hard to describe to those that have never been in this environment how the sand dunes seem to go on forever and ever. This is the only thing I miss about living in California.
Always funny yet cool sensation when someone rides the Glamis dunes for the time. It doesn’t get better than Glamis! I realize how fortunate I was to have grown up riding here multiple times a year.
Hey Pete, I'll fill you in on a little dune lingo. That steep drop-off that your buddy almost wrecked it on is called a "razorback". They are usually found on the backside of every dune and they can be steep. The most dangerous thing on a razorback is a "witches eye". It is literally a hole in the sand about 6 to 10 feet down from the top of the dune. When you hit it, there is usually no saving it. You wreck, and hard. It's like hitting a vertical wall of sand. They are formed when the wind blows hard enough over the edge of a dune and it circles around and digs out a hole. They're nasty. Be aware. Those big dunes you ride into and circle around are called "bowls". They form is sizes from small to massive, and when you are on a ride with a good leader, they will weave in and out of those all the way to your destination. It's like a never ending roller coaster. You guys should really spend a night out there sometime. The night action can be better than daytime. A stock headlight will do, but of course, a upgraded lighting system makes it even better. Hope this helps. Good luck and when in doubt, keep the throttle pinned.
Thanks for sharing all the terminology! There’s always more to learn about the dunes and how to ride them safer. I appreciate the tips! I would love to see the night scene next time so I think light bars will be on the list for the return trip! 👍😬
You guys are fucking precious🤣, i’m so glad you guys got to see a big part of my life. I grew up my entire life going to Glamis every Thanksgiving every Halloween every Christmas, Life at its finest and most simple form was in the dunes. I can almost remember all the bad and good times there. At any time and any place you can always volunteer to go with your group to Glamis, Bring friends and bring family❤️
Pete! So glad you took the opportunity to experience Glamis. I grew up in San Diego in the 60’s and 70’s and Glamis was a mainstay of our lives along with many other AZ and Calif desert hotspots!!! ENJOY!!!
I seen people do alot worst their first time out. You guys did great, but you need a local that knows the area, the spots, and the traffic patterns. I mean, in 45 min away, let me know when u coming back. I got my quad ready to go. That was me btw, in the white ram pulling the xp pro backwards 😄
I hope the people at Honda see your videos and decide they want to make the TRX450Rs again. Always awesome videos man, glad you got the YFZ added to the lineup
I’m 14 and I’m so used to riding sport quads today was my first time riding a YZF450R dirt bike and it’s so much harder cause you gotta be on watch constantly and it’s so much more powerful it’s crazy.
Wow I bet that was a crazy experience! I rode a YZ450F once years ago and the power to weight ratio blew my mind, it would be fun to put in enough seat time on a bike to be comfortable
It's AWESOME to see and hear 1st time impressions of Glamis especially from a Big Time RU-vidr. You should do a Stand-alone video of your impressions for all the others who haven't been or want to go.👌👍👍👍👍 All of us who live out here maybe take Glamis for granted.
I never ever seen to like to watch glamis fiding videos because they can never seem to create the feeling of excitement and adrenaline i feel when riding through the glamis dunes but this on did! I have been waiting for season for the last nine months and come up soon, so I’m trying to find videos I like this one was different my favorite so far for last five years but try to find a good plan is for you and you finally did it for me!!! Thank you for the awesome video and keep up the good work!!
It's always super rough there especially for quads! Next time see if going down to the washes would be better for you guys (along the train track) Go down to somewhere in the mid to high twenties. Way less people, way smoother and if you get lost you can just go towards the mountains until you run into the washes and just look at the signs to see which one you're at.
Pete you should come to dune fest this year at Winchester bay oregon. It’s July 27th to August 1st. It’s a blast. It’s huge the dunes are small but people and vendors everywhere.
Your happiness gives me happiness. Your reaction to the dunes is awesome. You guys are really good riders. Good job. I was there in that sea of ppl I could see my group 😄
Nice vid keep it up and I'm saying good vid before watching it because I know it's going to be good. Because You are my favorite RU-vidr. Keep up the good work
Awesome man, Sport Quads are indeed endangered. I love Glamis, the place is epic, especially midweek and after a storm, there is nowhere as good as Imperial Sand Dunes.
I go to glamis a lot it is a lot of fun but you do have to watch out for other people and just respect people’s space in riding but there is just so much to ride on it’s really cool!! 🙃
I will say this Pete I have watched tons of hours of Glamis videos on YT. But you did the best at showing the absolute scale of this place. I never thought it was that massive. I guess just because everyone is always showing the main areas. Anyways I have been really enjoying going back through your older videos lately. I would do anything to own a quad.
I grew up going to glamis and riding either dirt bikes or quads . I remember a couple years ago my dad took just me and my uncle when we went and it was the only time I got to ever ride there in the dunes . I had a Yamaha warrior 350. Yes it was the small dunes because my dad didn’t want me going into the bigger dunes because of all the accidents that happen in the dunes and I was only 17 at the time . I loved it so much and I enjoyed it. It was definitely the most exhausting I have ever done and the only time my fingers have ever hurt while riding. I moved to Georgia with my parents and had to sell my warrior and my yz250f because their is no where to ride here. I miss looking forward going to the desert every October and out of all the places I have been glamis is definitely my favorite.
Oh man what an awesome video! It really makes me want to go out there sooner! It is definitely on my bucket list! 40 mile long 5 mile wide of nothing but sand dunes..insane!
Hi first time viewer. Really love your program. Actually caught it watching off road And Red Bull Series. My son tried to explain Glamis. It is outstanding.. please keep filming.. loving it!!!!
Well... For your guys 1st time their you did a LOT OF THINGS RIGHT !! Starting with the day and time of year you went. Early November is an ideal time to go. Notes- next time you HAVE to camp for a few days. It's part of the Glamis experience ! -You guys rode about 1/10th of the Glamis Dune area. There is sooo much more of varied terrain to be seen. -the "Big" dunes you rode at the end of the video are TINY compared to the really big dunes, and that area you were riding is called the "Badlands" and no experienced Glamis duner would ride their. Overall like I said you guys did a lot of things right and I'm Impressed.👏👍 Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the fairly positive review 😅 I know we had so much more to see and yes allocating more time is definitely necessary next time. It's funny that badlands area isn't appreciated by the locals. I loved riding in that terrain, it was unlike anything I've seen. When your somewhere new everything tends to be awesome 😆 I felt very blessed to have a beautiful 70 degree day with nothing but sunshine 🙏
@@PeteHager great video thank you for your hard work! A few longer riding sections would be good....from Wyoming USA 🔫🤠🇺🇸p.s stay safe and healthy everybody GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY
First time in glamis for me was 1985. My uncle brought his brand new atc 250r and I was on my 185s...lol. Great to see you in my stomping grounds!....Great vid!
Another great video Pete, looks like so much fun! You're videos and passion for sport quads is the reason im going to be picking up a Raptor 700 "my first quad". Ill be in touch when I get home to pick it up for all kinds of pointers! Keep up the great work
Man, how did I miss this video when you released it. I just sat and watched the entire thing. My dad lives out that way and I’ve never ridden Glamis. People can get lost on 1,000 acres, 110,000 acres literally makes it seem like a different planet. People on the east coast don’t realize how diverse this country is with climates and landscapes. I’ve ridden at the Dust Bowl over by Blythe California and that was the only desert riding I’ve ever done. It was awesome, but more dirt than sand. Hopefully I’ll end up at Little Sahara for the 250R legends tour next year. That will probably be my first dune experience.
Wow! 🤘🏼1 hour long?? 😳 Love the intro and the editing. The first and closest raptor 700R In the video was the same color mine used to be @2:04 epic video so far.
Good times :) i grew up in Yuma Az. thru 7th grade thru 12th and we you to have so much fun at Glamis and mostly Buttercup Sand Dunes which is just about 15 miles south of Glamis , man we had No rules back in the day No out houses No COPS !! lots of Keggers and wild woman oh hell yeah buddy . Can you imagine party clean all our trsh never leave any cans or bottles NO NO NO
I feel like I'm watching Madmax wow! the Place is so sick 🔥 I can feel the Adrenaline rushing through the people out there . From the Ground to the Air lots of happenings 🔥 Super Great video . No wonder why I love this channel 💯 Great job pete 👌
Dude, I freaking dream of riding on something like this... Like it makes me wanna drag up and relocate....just to ride bro! Thanks for sharing it's bad ass
I wish I could get my yfz too run as good as yours mine has always been a bit lean and pops on the top end and I can’t get the carb tuned right no matter what I do. love the videos man keep em up!
You should hit up St Anthony sand dunes in Idaho. The hills are WAY BIGGER! Pretty sure they are one of the biggest if they not biggest dunes in the US. Not like as in acre wise but I’m hill size wise!
Awsome vid Pete Defiantly makes me want to get down there looks killer and looks like you all had a blast glad to see Conner isn’t to give it some pepper on the raptor
Now I can say I've been to Glamis!! Lol Man this was an epic movie! Footage was sick! Thats one heavenly looking place to ride! Lol Loved it! And what you mean you didn't wanna bring the camera in! Man if they don't know who you are they don't truly know the power sports world! Lollol Definitely loved the little kid ripping and shooting a thumbs up! @39:19 had me holla "WoW!" out loud! Lol Haha Mike was killing that wheelie on the berms! I definitely had to rewind @44:10 to hear that wicked sound! Lol crazy! Lol you got a good heart checking on ppl Pete! Love that about cha! Haha! I seen Conner dip out on ya! Lol oh and man! Yeah I learned my lesson with tinted goggles! Lol got caught riding in the dark with the fellas with em and hit a wooden post i didn't see and threw me off! Lol I said ill never by another pair of tinted goggles! Lollol So glad Mike's quad held up! Staying tuned! 💯💪
LOL I'm glad you liked the vid Terrell! It was one crazy adventure that's for sure! Glamis has so many features we didn't see too, I can't till the next time! Ian and Mike are a blast to ride and explore with. Connor has also improved a lot and we hope to get him his own quad this year🤞 I'm super stoked because things are finally thawing and spring is on the way! Hopefully we're back on the dirt soon! I hope all is well 😊🤘
That looked awesome I hope to go again with my new quad wish there was more to see in this video one hour wasn’t enough lol, love your videos Pete keep it up I’m looking forward to getting the urmosi throttle and Precision stabilizer from your website for my raptor!!
This video came from 5+ hours of video from that day 😅 thanks for watching everything and considering my recommendations and website for your new parts 😬🤘
Bro do you have a fuel customs intake on your quad? I added one on my and I had one question. Hopefully you can answer real quick so I can get that fixed and go riding in a bit today
@@PeteHager Did you plug the rubber hose on the Air intake tube once you did the AIS delete or what did you do to the rubber hose on the bottom of the Air intake tube?
