Any one walking by Quang's car when he is talking, laughing and eating and there no one is sitting next to him...they might think he has lost it....lol....He laughs at everything...
Dope video bro! I’m Samoan and Māori (New Zealand Indigenous) and I’m from Aotearoa New Zealand. Māori do haka and Samoans do the Siva Tau. They are often percieved the same but they have their own nuances and meanings, depending on the context. Aroha nui ki a koe e hoa, much love from NZ bro 🤙🏽
In Hawaii, we have something similar to the HAKA called The Ha'a. It's a chant to get the warriors pumped and to intimidate the rival warriors. If you ever make it to Maui, Hawaii hit me up!!!
Polynesian are all the same,Yous call it ha’a, Maori haka Samoan siva Tau Tongan sipi Tau and so on and so on..it’s all about intimidating the opposition and amping up the warriors..every island no matter how small has their own chant/war dance
I love that you acknowledge that you don’t know what to expect when it comes to raw fish. Some people just say disgusting and that’s it… but you are so respectful and humble Quang.
I just purchased my flight tickets to go home, back to Hawaii, mid-August. This video came across my feed. Now, I’m super pumped for this! 🤙🏽 “Food and life is such a beautiful thing, dont cha think” 🥲
Ya I know how you and a lot of you took this, but I just don't think thats how he meant it! I guess I could be wrong but he just doesn't talk like that
@@Ty2late hahaha right? I used to think it was purely innocent but mans know what he's doing, not coincidence at this point if you pay attention to how many innuendo's he casually throws out there. Perfect example is when he says"order number 69!" gotta love it! 😂
Samoans are different than Hawaiians we are both Polynesian and similar but we are not completely the same, Haka can be preformed by all Polynesians, Hawaiians too but we primarily preform Hula but Kahiko Style (Old/Manly style) for when we would go to war or went up against a Haka ‘Auana Hula is preformed for shows primarily (Modern style
@@DEAN-dk7cu nobody, I just decided to let him know bc he didn’t know, and he was talking about Hawaiians/Samoans/Haka etc, no need to give my comment attention if you find it irrelevant
Aloha from Hawai'i. Hawai'i has so many amazing traditional and cultural fusion foods. Happy you got a chance to enjoy some of the delicious foods we have here. If you ever want to check out more Hawaiian recipes I have a whole channel dedicated to making Hawaiian and local food at home. Hope you get a chance to check it out one day. Aloha!
Yes we’re called Hawaiians!!! 🤣 We are all Pacific Islanders but Hawaiians and Samoans are different just like Japanese and Chinese are different! Spicy Ahi Tuna Poke is my favorite and so is the Loco Moco! Great Vid!!
Quang, you have to try laulau. Pork and fish wrapped in taro leaf, tied with ti leaf and steamed. Or taro leaf with coconut milk and octopus, my absolute favorite Hawaiian food!!!
Local from Hawaii here, you should season your spam with shoyu & white sugar & then pan fry it, gives the spam musubi more flavor & sweetness. ITS 🔥🔥🔥 PS: Quang if you ever go to Hawaii don’t go to a luau at some hotel, you gotta be invited to some Aunty’s house to try REAL Hawaiian food! The GOOD GOOD
No worries Quang. Everyone here in Hawaii eats poke with rice....or beer. Nothing like hot rice and a piece of cold poke. That kalbi plate you had is called a plate lunch.
Q, don't apologize for not enjoying something, whatever it is. You have your own taste buds and experiences that form how and why you like certain foods. If you don't like the texture of raw protein it's not only understandable but so be it. It's ok. Be you. You're loved...🥰
It's More Like Hawaii Local Food, Except For The Poke & Kalua Pig.. Hawaiian Food (Traditionally) Would Consist Of Poi, Lomi Lomi, Lau Lau, Chicken Long Rice & Squid Luau Just To Name A Few..Lol!!🤙😁🤙
Come Big Island and try poke is not the same as there, and alot of us do eat it with rice or poi or solo. That is more of the normal pacific islander spread but not really traditional hawaiian food Taro & coconut milk, lau lau, poi, ulu, sweet potato, sweet potato & coconut milk, taro, luau stew, kalua pig n cabbage, pastele, pastele stew, kulolo, haupia.
If you come to Hawaii, I'll take you to all the good local grinds. Mac salad, it's so bomb. And everyone eats poke with rice here. It's called a poke bowl. And when you eat so much that you wanna sleep, it's called kanak attack.
Love the content and especially when you cook your own style it makes me really hungry!! You should try n make your twist your take of Samoan food? Maybe or maybe not… lol but yes, us Samoans we perform a haka but we call it a Siva Tau! (See-vuh) (Tow-uuuuu)
This is more so the local food in Hawaii..poke is hawaiian...try more of the authentic Hawaiian food. Poi, lomi salmon, pipi kaula, kalua pork, stew laulau okay getting 😋 getting hungry. Check into more of our Polynesian islands cuisine...YOU'LL LOVE IT! Your video are the best!
Omg I'm laughing!! I'm going to bust this in your face😁. Then he tops it off by saying it's oozing! I know my mind is in the gutter! Along with many other people!
Eat it with rice! I am hawaiian and we eat it with rice as well. We call it a poke bowl. No disrespect here. Thank you for trying our food and giving your honest opinion.
Bro, I’m Samoan. I am really shocked you know what a Samoan is. I still meet people to this day that have no idea what Samoans are. Love the content. Keep up the FIRE videos.
I think more people know about Samoans but not many know about Tongans! Maybe they just don't know much about polynesians. Hawaiians, Samoans, and Tongans (there's others!) are polynesians but different islands, language, and cultures!
I’m hoping you just do a Lūʻau feast video in your kitchen/patio. If you set the burners on low this morning you can have a banana wrapped whole hog cooked & ready by Friday MINIMUM!!! 🐽🐖🐷
The poke and rice go to together my dude. Usually we eat the poke by itself as a snack while drinking beer. Glad you enjoyed the food but waaay different if you actually come down to Hawaii and taste the food 🤙🏽
Thank u for pronouncing poke right 😁 this is mostly hawaiian bbq.. real hawaiian food is laulau, poke, poi, kalua pig, opihi, squid luau, beef luau, pipikaula… if u ever come to oahu.. helena’s is the place to go.. if its too packed then waiahole poi factory is good too. 🤙🏽❤️
As an islander i enjoyed this one😂 and I think they word you’re looking for is polynesian lol sometimes ppl just say samoan or hawaiian as the whole group of people but it’s polynesian. polynesian is samoan, hawaiian, tongan, new zealand, etc. Anyways love your videos quang! i am tongan btw lol
Lol @ samoan!! im Samoan, I don’t think a samoan would wanna mess with u, unless u disrespect him or his family!! but you’re a cool dude..and great cook!! You’d be a Samoans best friend!! Lol!!
😂🤣 "I'll apologize" aye I feel you on that one. Had a Samoan friend growing up, all of his siblings are buff. Even his older sisters. Whatever the case may be, im sorry. 😂🤣
I agree though, I need rice or seaweed or something to go with the poke or the pieces of raw fish. Sometimes I like some cold edamame drizzle in sesame oil and salt mixed with the poke!!
I feel you on the poke. I can eat some but not a lot at a time- the rawness of it. I know its great and I've never had it from Hawaii but I know its bombbbbb there.
Sushi is seasoned rice. You are eating poke. And you can eat it with rice. There are many poke bowls and the poke is served on top of the rice bowl along with other things that you wanna put on i top of the poke.
I'm from Hawaii, and rarely does "Hawaiian" food look legit outside Hawaii, especially POKE. Lot's of stuff in the mainland and outside Hawaii claim it's POKE, when it's RAW FISH SALAD. The stuff in those plastic containers is legit. It's how you get your Poke in any establishment here. BTW, I used to work for one of the most popular poke places here on Oahu- Tanioka's Fish Market. If you keep eating it, you'll get used to the texture.
Just for your correction…..only because I am from Hawaii. These are Hawaii foods and not Hawaiian foods. There is a difference. Hawaii is a mash of all cultures so it’s not authentic Hawaiian foods, it’s just food that’s popular in Hawaii. Enjoy!
A Haka is something we Maori people do here in New Zealand. A common misconception is that a Haka is a war dance, and while that is slightly true, we use it more as a celebration of someone’s life, or as entertainment, or as a welcoming. NEARLY THERE BROTHER QUANG!
Yo quang I don’t know if you remember me , but we used to frame together for wei , about 7 years ago , you were an awesome person to learn from and I remember you telling me you wanted to become a youtuber, for body building because you and your brother were monsters , those were the days & now here you are 2+ million subs , congrats man & enjoy the life brotha , glad you’re doing great
