In the book, Cruella had a cat. Every time she had kittens Cruella would drown them. That cat helped the puppies destroy all of Cruella’s coats and left to live with them!

One thing I love about this movie is how equal the relationship is between Pongo and Perdita. It would have been so typical to have a story where he was all like "no my love! I shall go fetch our children from the clutches of the Devil Woman!" and goes on the journey to save them while it periodically cuts back to her sighing at the window as the snow falls. There is no question though. She's their mama. Of course she's going to go on the mission with Daddy! "it's up to us" not "it's up to me". Also Nanny is amazing and I love her. This film was deffo one of my faves as a kid. I agree with you that the art style is gorgeous. :)
@a.g.demada5263
@a.g.demada5263 2 года назад
Yes, they're really in this together. In France, Pongo is voiced by Roger Carel, a guy who was considered as the boss of Disney french voice act (he was behind a lit of Disney characterseven Mickey). I saw an interview where he explains he used his real voice for Pongo

I really see Emma's Cruella as a character inspired by the original, but not the same character. By the end of Cruella, she's certainly not as evil as this Cruella, and her ultimate act really is more about justice than evil. I guess we'll see how it plays out in the sequel! Incidentally, "Emma's" real name is Emily, but the name Emily Stone was already taken lol

They could've added a whole lot more stuff with Roger and Anita in this cartoon regardless. They basically left one long solid gap between where Pongo and Perdita left home on a mission to retrieve their 15 puppies, and we have to wait until the ending of the cartoon for the next and last scene with Roger and Anita. Basically I personally reckon that there's more that could've been added to this old cartoon at that time. The cartoon is already good the way it is, but at the same time I do think this cartoon needs more stuff. I would personally add more Roger and Anita scenes, I would change the ending up and add more to it.

Fun Fact: This was the first Disney movie that they used the then-new Xerox process to directly transfer the artist’s pencil drawings onto the animation cels. This is why the outlines are all black, and look more “sketchy” compared to previous Disney films. They continued to use this process for all their animated films, up to The Little Mermaid (1989). After that, using the CAPS software to digitally color the animation took over, starting with The Rescuers Down Under (1990) and has continued to this day.

Dad trained Labrador Retreivers so I've seen a lot of them. The breeds are within an inch or so in average height, male Dalmatians are usually much lighter at the low end but within a few pounds at the upper weight. Dalmation females are much lighter Labrador females. We had a Labrador/Chespeake mix named Lobo that weighed 90 pounds!

SEQUEL MAYBE PLOT (for Cruella): What if like Roger was convinced by the Baroness because he used to work for her that that was actually a dalmatian coat and dragged Anita into it because he knows that Anita is kinda Cruella's bestie so he tricked her into marrying him but Cruella came over to look at the dogs to base her fashion on them so she made a fur coat out of fake fur but then Roger thinks its real and Anita thinks Cruella betrayed her by skinning her dogs when the dogs were just there to play with their dogs. Also, they got another dalmatian and they had a baby because they thought just one dalmatian would be lonely. Also, Cruella makes her own fashion line with all kinds of different fashion and Artie helps.

I think the idea was that Cruella bought all the other puppies - Pongo and Perdita's fifteen were the only ones she had stolen. So no one is going to be looking for them, and if Roger and Anita want to keep them, that's OK. (Well, technically, it's theft from Cruella, but would anyone scold them for it? I think not.) If you'd like to watch an older Disney film that IS exciting, might I suggest reacting to 'The Great Mouse Detective', if you haven't seen it? That's a proper adventure story, and one of the best the studio's ever made, in my opinion.

I hadn't seen that since I was little and didn't remember any of it. It looked pretty sweet, honestly.

Aw, Scotty from Lady and the Tramp made a cameo! (I don't remember if that's his name, but it was him.)

If you haven't watched classic Disney animation, you should definitely watch The Sword and the Stone and Sleeping Beauty next. Two of the most gorgeous films. And the Sword and the Stone has one of my favorite quirky "villains" the Mad Madam Mim. I guarantee you'll love her.

This was a lot of fun. I hope this means you will be reacting to the older Disney movies.

I love this old classic! 101 Dalmatians is such an underrated movie I feel like. Though I love Lady and The Tramp much more.

And now I recommend the underrated live action 1995 remake with Glenn Close as Cruella Deville.
