It might just be because I'm Dutch, but de Efteling has always felt more magical to me than Disneyland. It's so lovely seeing people experience it for the first time!
I came straight home and watched POV's and instantly I'm hoping to head back next year to experience all the rides that were closed, shows that weren't on, the new hotel and of course Danse Macabre! Thanks for watching.
@@LiftHillsandThrills Be sure to NOT book your trip in winter next year as both Pirnha and Flying Dutchman always have a winter stop (due to them being water rides)
Did you know, Efteling's Fata Morgana has no computerized animatronics. Everything that moves, every puppet is driven mechanically by this amazing system of cams, gears, pulleys and wires. This system was built by Efteling and they got a patent on it as well.
sadly in the winter the pyranja and flying dutchman are closed because they contain water in it. the fairytail forrest was in maintenance. and you definitely need to check out ravelijn
Sad to see the flying dutchman was closed, the queue of it has always been my favorite thing in the park, along with Droomvlucht. It's amazing to see the magic of someone going there for the first time, makes me feel like a kid walking through it for the first time again, filled with wonder at seeing all the details. Absolutely loved your vlog
Thank you so much for watching it. I imagine when I go back again next year it’ll be like seeing it for the first time all over again with the new builds, new ride, the three rides we missed and the shows!
What a magical park! You're seriously making me look at flights. Never heard an old Vekoma described as smooth 😆 but I take your word for it...looked smooth as silk. Gave me Corkscrew vibes for sure........Symbolica, best dark ride ever? Looks up there!
If you go back, pick a day Caro the theatre show is on. Efteling overnight guests get a big discount it's like a tenner a ticket. One of the best shows you'll see. It's usually on at park closing time. Amazing
@@LiftHillsandThrills Hahaha no problem mate, as much as I am an Efteling enthusiast, I also love watching people enjoy my beautiful city Rotterdam. Keep up the good work!🙌🏻❤️
The algorithm of watching everything Efteling related brought me here. You sir are probably the most entertaining theme park vlogger I’ve ever watched. Hats off :)
In Villa Volta you have 2 preshows but that's part of the atraction. That makes the atraction really fun! But I understand that if you're not Dutch its not as fun to watch!
I love these vlogs. I have an annual pass and I'm at the park every week most of the time. I love it and never get tired of it, although I mostly go for the entertainment now instead of the rides.
A huge thanks to Energybytes (link in the description) for making this possible. Enjoy our trip to the beautiful and magical fairytale theme park that is Efteling. Day 2 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NI6GUuOZsVM.html
I love Efteling, I went to the IAAPA expo in Amsterdam in 2018 and as part of the experience we went to Toverland and Efteling, both are brilliant parks, but I especially love Efteling, just magical. I spent the day riding coasters with a guy from S&S, Quin Checketts, he was telling me how his dad founded that business then sold it to sansei. Glad you enjoyed your visit.
I try to visit De Efteling each year, and every time I’m in absolute awe. Can’t wait to see how Dance Macabre turns out. Did you not went in Sirroco? That’s the latest attraction. Or was it closed aswell? Anyway so cool to see you enjoy our own Dutch pearl and specially your reaction on my favo attraction Fata Morgana. Hope your able to enjoy Droomvlucht in 2024! 🙌🏼
We have annual passes for Elteling ( we live in the UK) a lot of park annual passes offer free days in lots of other parks so can really be good value....
Oh my god😂 i was literally in the same kart in baron 1898. Front row also. I can see my mother standing there, filming me coming down. I live 20 minutes away from the efteling so i come very often. That day baron 1898 was indeed closed the beginning of the day due to technical issues. But in the afternoon it opened luckily! So funny to see this and realise i was in the same ride with you that time.
Great vlog, happy that u liked the park, im gonna sleep in bosrijk for the first time in my life in februari and im so hyped. The efteling is like my main park, love to be there and just enjoy the vibe of the park! Gonna go for 3 nights and 4 days definetly gonna enjoy that😄
Oh wow, have an incredible time! With certain rides / attractions not on during our visit along with the new hotel AND the new ride coming in 2024 you absolutely know I'll be back there next year to experience it! Thanks for watching.
Love this video guys, where in England you from again? I'm in Kent-right between Dartford/Bexleyheath! I have been coming to Efteling since a small kid in the 80's. And first saw it on British Classic Programme: Wish You Were Here and begged my mum/dad to take me then 2 months later we went(I was 4 at the time) + been going nearly every year since the late Summer of 1985! One of my other fav Theme Parks not jus in Europe but the world is: Europa Park have you been there?? + Fata Morgana is one of my fav Dark Rides of all time. Been loving it since it came out in the mid 80's in Spring of 1986! Shame you never got to go on: Swiss Bob (or "Bobbaan" in Dutch), which as you prob know is now on the land where: Max & Moritz is! + love Rotterdam as well!
We're from all over the UK, I'm from Stoke as I'm sure you can tell from the accent! Never been to Europa Park, overseas park exploring is very new to me so I've only just begun but it's definitely on my list. Appreciate you watching the VLOG!
@@LiftHillsandThrills Yea did notice the different accents, + you being northern but wasn't sure if you were living somewhere else! Like a mate of mine is from Kent but now lives in Leicester. Very glad to hear Europa Park is on your list! So apart from what you posted on your vlogs. What other UK-Theme Parks have you been to and do you also like Waterparks as well?? No probs mate, have already subbed to your channel 👍
@@mikekaraoke There’s a lot of UK theme park content on here to enjoy, water parks I’ve only ever been to Waterworld in Stoke and Plopsaqua in Belgium. Both vlogs are on the channel!
It’s an absolute shame new visitors like you guys will never be able to experience Spookslot . That was a Efteling Classic 😢. But Danse Macabre will be even better pls come back next year 🙏. Try to schedule your next visit on a date where all rides are open. You 100% missed out on some of the best rides the park has to offer. Thank you for visiting my favourite park. It makes me happy seeing all these tourists visit the park for the first time. Much love from the Netherlands ❤️
I absolutely want to revisit when the hotel is opening / Danse Macabre and praying it’s not winter maintenance season! Gives us a reason to come back! Thank you for watching
@LiftHillsandThrills : Loved your take on the Winter Edition of the Efteling, also a keen eye for details and very good taste, good Sirs and ladies, but when you come back try to aim for the so called "Long Summer Evenings" edition in july and august (and the first week of september nowadays as well) where you can go every day from 10 to 22:00 (9:30 when staying in Bosrijk etc.). The waiting cue of The Flying Dutchman has beautiful details you do not want to just quickly skip through, as many just do unwittingly, like the eerie woman's vice singing "William van der Decken, oh do tell me where thou art now ?", the face of the captain in the mirror, the smoke and smell of fire in the smuggler's corridor and so on. Let the music sink in. Also, there is a terrific fairy tale about the girl left out in the streets selling matches who died. Yes, it's not a cheerful fairytale, but so beautifully made with holographics and such. Makes us cry every time, but that could just be us of course. Then the Diorama with the trains and find artist and spiritual father of the Efteling "Anton Pieck" in there on a chair painting ! By the way, the old steam Caroussel is over a hundred years old and Anton Pieck himself rode it in his town of Den Helder as a child. Efteling is as much about Dutch cultural elements and sentimental things as it is about thrillrides and a good time without much thinking. And it's a foundation, not a company as such needing to make money for others than just the park and grounds itself. Cheers !
Wipes the floor with any BPB relic that's for sure. Don't think it's up there with Wicker Man though although the length certainly beats it and potentially the pacing.... I dunno.... I may have just second guessed myself in the middle of typing this reply..
I know this park for over 55 years. It’s my most favorite park and now I live within eight miles of it 😁 Droomvlucht and Flying Dutchman are must do rides. Droomvlucht is my most favorite dark ride. The outside of Villa Volta at night is wonderful. Land van Laaf, Fairytale forest
I’ll be going tomorrow, just passing the time watching videos of other people going until then haha. Last time I went it was 2019, so I’m pretty excited to go again.
Absolutely beautiful and the fact that 3 rides were closed not to mention the theatre show, Javelin show and Danse Macabre next year along with the new hotel. Just another excuse to come back and enjoy it all again!
Hey John, usually for the videos it’s more short digestible content then we follow that up with a blog review on our site but always happy to dive into more information in video format if more folks like yourself would appreciate that. I’m not the most knowledgable but I can talk for England 😅 all the best
Wow, Efteling looks so beautiful. I'm delighted Baron opened and you got to ride! So what's next then? Phantasialand and then where? Or will that news be a channel exclusive? 🤔😆
@@LiftHillsandThrills Yep, a nice summer visit will be fantastic. Don't forget, you have to come to Ireland next year to ride Cu Chulainn and our new Vekomas, if they ever get built.
Thank you, I only did it in here as everyone’s no doubt seen full POV’s of these rides a million times already but when it came to Baron the misters absolutely destroyed the lens on the drop 😂
@@LiftHillsandThrills It was supposed to be another (indoor) coaster in a circus theme, with perhaps a whole theme area around it including some smaller flat rides etc.. However, due to multiple factors such as concerns about sustainability, the project has been cancelled (permanently).
At the moment a lot of rides are being worked on, such as Droomvlucht and Vliegende Hollander, and they've also broken down the spookslot, which is being replaced by a new spooky ride. Oh well, still lots of fun to be had in De Efteling I suppose :) After all that, Rotterdam must've been a cold shower..lol. It's the exact opposite of Efteling.. Anyway I hope you guys had a good time regardless!
Nice vlog, I’d like to go there one day. Also, I hope the Intamin will be a big gyro swing at Pleasure Beach. There’s one or two tweets appearing and disappearing which seem to be indicating that, but I might just be reading too much into it 🤷♂️
I just went to efteling saturday 21 January 2023, in a forecast they said it was gonna be sunny, but guess what? IT WAS SNOWING!!!! The snow everywhere made it soooo much more beautiful
The toilet being in another room has nothing to do with the Netherlands xD. It's a pretty common thing to have a toilet in your bathroom. Most houses do, apartments are a different story though. But I doubt that isn't the same in other countries.
Dont apologize for pronouncing the names wrong. i love it when foreigners try to pronounce dutch names haha its funny to hear. Anyway nice video nice to see that you enjoyed it. never been to winter efteling myself but i have been a couple of times to the park. just the best park of the netherlands. I would love to visit more theme parks in europe though. but for now the Efteling is amazing. I have been to Disneyland when i was younger and Tivoli in Copenhagen. but thats about it.
@@LiftHillsandThrills haha dont worry about the names dutch is not easy to pronounce^^. But yeah personally i like De Efteling more as well. I mean i like disney but its too commercialized if you ask me. Fun fact though the Efteling is 2 years older then Disneyland. Disneyland opened in 1954 Efteling in 1952. You should. I see that you didnt go on the Droomvlucht? was it closed that day? because thats one of the best darkrides of the Efteling. Symbolica is amazing that you enjoyed it. but i think you would like Droomvlucht even more i personally like Droomvlucht more but both are excellent dark rides none the less.
@@LiftHillsandThrills ah i see too bad though. i bet you will love it. But maintenance is needed so nothing we can do about that. i will not spoil yourself with watching videos on youtube though. then again on videos you will still not see everything as well as in real life. And Danse Macabre would be amazing would love to see that for myself as wel. anyway enjoy if you go back. we used to have a Bob Sleight coaster at the Efteling as well was a good coaster but they changed that with Max & Moritz (never been on that one my self though). because the Bob Sleight coaster was too old and too expensive to maintenance.
So I live in the Netherlands and I visit this park twice a year and every time I discover something new even tho I already been in the Efteling 7 times. So funny to hear the Dutch names pronounced by English people, We say the letter 'g' like an 'ch'.
Every single person we spoke to at Efteling spoke better English than us, most of us struggle with our own language let alone any other haha. Thank you ever so much for watching.
Even more reason to come back then of course which we definitely will be doing next year, I was blown away and even in the rain I enjoyed its beauty and its magic
Here we are complaining about the long ride to the Efteling and they just go from Efteling (Kaatsheuvel) to Rotterdam to eat :o BTW. which restaurant was that?
I THINK it was the Miso Sushi... I can't remember for certain though as we just ran into the closest place we could find with it raining so much but it was just around the corner from the 'Coffee Shops' :)
@@LiftHillsandThrills There are "coffee shops" everywhere.. Actually one very good one in Waalwijk 10 mins away from the Efteling (5.5 km, less than 3 miles) xD So for next time, no need to visit Rotterdam ;)
I enjoyed the pre show and the theming but thought the ride experience was over very quickly and with the lift hill straight into the drop there was no real anticipation there for the drop. For me, Oblivion still has that fear factor and that intensity, Baron just didn’t have that despite looking absolutely incredible I just think as a ride experience it comes off second best.
