Please join me for the first of my holiday videos as I spend a day in Concord Massachusetts, home of Louisa May Alcott (among many other authors), visiting old favorites that I frequented during the years I lived in Boston. Book and curiosity stores, coffee shop, history and more! Afterwards, join me back home for a chat on this and that with plans I have for my channel during the winter months. I hope you enjoy! You absolutely must!! There are actually so many more shops there to explore, and it's so lovely and quaint. If I had more time, I would have shown more, but we were actually down in the Boston area helping my in-laws pack up their home which they sold recently, so I could only get away for a few hours! I loved seeing your day trip back to LMA and have been anticipating the stops for coffee and books. Will be reading Little Women for the bookclub also. The new video ending will be such a delight for these cold months. Thank you for sharing ❤

OK, you have decided for me! I was already planning a quick trip to Boston by train, but we're definitely going to have to extend it and add a day in Concord. Now to inform my husband... 🤭🤭

🤣 I am so glad this was of help!!! If you go, Walden Pond and the replica of Thoreau's cabin (only the foundation of the real one remains) are not at all far from Concord....I think just about 5 mins or so down the road a bit. Thank you so much for your comment! Good luck informing hubby! Ha ha!

Concord is beautiful 😍 I have a bird feeder on my window too,I mostly get sparrows with a rare appearance of a blue tit.It's a wonderful idea,I'm looking forward to seeing all your birds! 🐦I now want to read Little Women and I probably will 😊 Enjoyed this very much,thank you! ❤️

Oh I am so jealous that you get blue tits! I love them, but never see them here. We do get blue jays, but they are skittish so getting them on camera is a challenge! A lovely video, Heather! How wonderful to follow along as you visited Concord! And such adorable little shops. I just reread Little Women last summer but I may watch the newer movie version which I've never seen. : ) I too am an avid backyard bird observer. Love the feeder, too!

Hi Celeste! I know you love birds and knew as I was filming this that you would enjoy that part! I love the newer movie - it is wonderful, but I find myself returning to the Winona Ryder version more often for some reason. I think it just feels more seasonal to me. Great vlog! My mom and I are planning a trip to visit Boston and Concord this year, and your video was so inspiring. I really want to visit Orchard House too and see the place that inspired Little Women. I can't wait to check out the bookstores you mentioned and stop at the cafe for a lavender latte. 🥰

Thank you Elizabeth! You will love it! I didn't cover Walden Pond and all the connections to Emerson and Thoreau (I will have to do that on a future trip) but there is so much to see and do! I hope you enjoy the bookshops...will you be making a vlog about it? I would love to watch it!

My dad was a history major and I grew up not far from Concord and Lexington so as you can imagine, I’ve been there a lot!

@@WaterBearReads Definitely Minuteman National Park, Lexington Green, and Old Hill. Sleepy Hollow Cemetery is nice, too. I like the houses (Old Manse, Orchard House, etc.) but when you grow up in New England, they start to all look the same!!
