Did you spray some WD40 or similar in the hinge to loosen up any rust and stop restricting opened and closed. Even better, knock that pin out and clean up with grinder b4 welding back into position. Thanks for sharing
Tried to spray wd40 up into it but looking back probably should have just knocked the pin out and greased her up. Lesson learned with on the job experiences 🙃
I Was at the property again today, other trades were using it and was functioning as it should, if any issues the property agents know I’ll come back to mend.
That weld is good enough. It only orignally was holding 15 to 20 mil so you put a nice thick weld on there. In situations like these dressing it up is not the goal, its practicality which you achieved. Good work ! She'll be right !
Thanks for the reply and good pick up. As mentioned in previous comment I worded it wrong during the video as I have been practicing welding with my new gas welder lately. Correct set up is MIG/MAG WELDING: CONNECT THE TORCH LEAD TO THE POSITIVE TERMINAL (+) AND THE CLAMP LEAD (C) TO THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL (-GASLESS WELDING: (WITH FLUX CORED WIRE): CONNECT THE TORCH LEAD TO THE NEGATIVE TERMINAL (-) AND THE CLAMP LEAD (E) TO THE POSITIVE TERMINAL (+)
I had multiple jobs at the one property this being one of them. I just took the opportunity to get the welder out to be honest. If you were to head out to do this job what what u think would be a reasonable charge? Remember travel time equipment consumables all add up. Quoting and invoicing are my hardest dilemmas 😅
@@viktorreznov1548 bro a price is opinionated, you can't get rich of 280 bucks bro. But we all have bills to pay and nothing in life is free. You not paying just for someone's time, you paying for his knowledge that he can do that the customer cannot.
I feel $150 is a little light personally. Equipment alone welder, wire, tip, grinder ppe is quite the expense. If I was to price this up as a stand alone job I would think $200-250 is reasonable for equipment hire consumables time travel and labour. Remember we still have to pay tax on these so we don’t actually take home the total invoice cost, we have expenses to pay ( tax, insurance, travel, running cost, maintenance ), all these expenses I never knew about until being a new business owner 🥵 but thanks for the feed back good know what people would quote cheers
