I am very confident with your acumen and abilities, you will escalate to Top Teacher rapidly if you post classes in skillshare. The watercolor teachers are popular but you have a unique style of your own. Think about it!! It will complement your youtube channel too. It’s easier to gain uge sustainable traction compared to patreon and social media. You can interact closer and build a database/newsletter from there too. Thats a pure target audience who seeks you out directly.
I have considered Skillshare at some point, but there was this huge thing last year where skillshare just cut a huge chunk of the teachers fees and lots of creators released videos to advise not to go to skillshare and what not. So I'll revisit again after what you have said. Thank u!
Congratulations and thank you for giving such a great explanation of how RU-vid works. You really opened my eyes to the workings of such a platform. I think it takes an awful lot of plain old guts to put yourself out there. The problem, as I see it, is that the minute a viewer goes down a rabbit hole when something interesting happens, poof: you stop coming up on my feed. Then I don’t watch you because I just forgot. I think you understand what I mean as I’m sure the same happens to you. This was a fabulous video. I love your art. You and some others are my idols! Thanks again.
Aw Angie thank u! Yes I totally have gone through that rabbit hole. I will have to "remember" my fav creators sometimes to get back onto their radar! But such as is the algorithm, and I try not to get mad at it. Hahaha!
I enjoyed listening to your RU-vid story. I was fascinated to hear the how’s and why’s. This came up on my feed and I clicked and realized I was already a subscriber. I have gone down way too many rabbit holes on RU-vid. I originally found you looking for watercolor tutorials. @crystaltanart My channel is about a circumnavigation that I started. There have been some interruptions with caring for a family member seriously ill but I think I will be back on track soon. Survived a hurricane which was one of my spikes. Hopefully whales soon!!!
Hi, I actually commented on Jenna’s video that I thought it wasn’t such a good idea to get people to subscribe to someone else’s channel because at that point I knew from experience that nothing hurts a channel more than subbies who don’t watch your uploads- and that happens when the subbies don’t subscribe organically without being influenced. What that tells yt is that your subbies aren’t interested, therefore your videos don’t deliver value therefore yt stops promoting them.
That is true, organic growth is always a better thing. But I think jenna's audience is very similar to mine! So i really appreicated the recomendataion for people to check me out. Whether they sub or not, still up to them :) Anyways, Ive been on a slow organic growth for a long time now! And i'm happy :)

I think both are. Because we are paid by how many ads are watched. So both will matter. As there are mid-roll ads within a longer video, so the longer a person watches the more ads they will watch. If u know what I mean :)
No worries! It's definitely not worth if its the ONLY way u want to make an income. But it's a nice supplement (cup of coffee a day) and just a wonderful marketing tool to grow your brand!
For anyone doing the math, it works out to be about $0.74 per hour revenue. Thank you for sharing your experience. Love of connecting and helping others is definitely needs to be the primary motive.
Thank u Kayleen! How did you arrive at the hours spent I am curious? :) It's definitely not paying off financially at all. lol. For art channels it seldom does. But it's worth to spread the love of art, and for branding/connecting purposes!
@@crystaltanart artists are natural sharers I think. What would art be if not shared hey? I divided the hours watched by the payment you showed on the screen to get the hourly rebate. I may vary (I don’t know) but a rough estimate.
