In south Africa its classified as a powered hang glider and classifies as hang gliding but with a conversion. Here it doesnt fall under ultralight yet although it might change. I dont know the classification elsewhere.

I assume you transitioned from a PPG, I obtained foot launched hang gliding in 1997, and then in 2004 PPG trike it it, but training, underpowered and was a pain to setup and fly with it, then in 2006 PPC with rotax twin cyl. engine, MUCH better, single seater...still kinda miss it...I was always half afraid of all of it, and quit....I'm 72 now...

We already made a glider. But can't decide that what engine will be better for power glider. I will be greatful if you suggest.

In May 2016 i paid R40000 for the trike and R43000 for the engine. both was new. Then I paid R40000 for the hang glider which was second hand. Thus R123000 in total. Training and instruments and equipment also added to the bill.

Interesting to not see the nose spreader bar ..Nice unobstructed forward view ... very cool fat beach tires as well ... Wow you have an impressive amount of hg experience and for me its new territory after been flying paragliders for 20years. Loving it and very keen to fly the hg but im very careful and not intending to do serious cross country. I enjoy my area at Jeffreys Bay to fly my Zee and hope to post a video soon. Johan Anderson is a legend for hg in south africa and a really beautiful simple design with the Zee. I will definitely do more camera views and post more videos now that I have gained more experience flying my Zee. Hi Adil. Im not sure what you mean? I did not fly tandem flights. Basically I first did a hang gliding course and obtained a licence to fly a hang glider and then i converted to a motorised hang glider licence.
@@gerharduscombrinck I thought you didn't have any flight training before. It's good that you have had hang gliding experience before. So you just transitioned from hang gliding to ultralight weight shift type. I can't imagine just jumping into a trike and fly it solo the first time without any flight background.
@@msahakim Hi Adil. Yes that is correct. If you look at my channel you can actually see my hang gliding training video prior to getting my Powered hang gliding conversion. I really enjoyed doing the hang gliding training and I had an awesome flight on my first thermic flight. So much so that I almost regretted flying paragliders for 23 years and not a hang glider!! The theory of thermalling is the same although its much more demanding i recon on a hang glider. My instructor was very surprised that i even out thermalled other older hg pilots. Although the harness was just a basic training one. I then got all the hg equipment but sadly did not find the time to do hg also since im still very involved in paragliding so I got rid of it and now only fly my Zee. Thanks for your interest!
