When the wind takes ur hat off and u watch if fly away

Jig eyes clogged with paint. I finally wised up and started inspecting them BEFORE hitting the water, so I don't have to dull another fish hook trying to clean out the eye of the jig.

This is actually zeb berry not Jean but when you leave your soft plastics in your tackle box outside and it’s a hot day and they melt and melted baits ripen also over your other baits and destroy them all.

when your jig looks like a Christmas decoration.

When your little brother always wants to come with you 😂

Or when you pull your lure out of a tree and it flys into another tree. Or when you drop your phone in while taking a picture

When you're all by yourself and catch a fish, then all of a sudden 2 boats and 3 bank guys come right next to you

When someone uses all of your fishing bait🤣

When you use a frog through the moss and the same bass misses it 4 godamn times

I really felt that gulp one... I carry wire cutters with me to get those things off after they dry.

another pet peeve is when your gulp packet leaks and makes tar all over your bag

When you put your line through all of your eye guides and then drop it through at the top and have to re-do it all

I’ve have a jerkbait in my backpack with a coke and the hook went through the coke and it spilled in my backpack

When you leave worms in your tackle box and they rot

When you’re fishing by a “nature trail” and someone walks by and yells “ANY LUCK?”

Friends that are so excited to go fishing with you and get bored in 5 minutes and annoy you while you are trying to fish.

Something that really annoys me when I'm out and about fishing is when you have to tie on some new line but that line always curls up 😤

My biggest fishing pet peeve is when you’re fishing with someone new to fishing and they’re asking questions and it seems they’re really having fun and want to learn more and then some random dude comes up to y’all and starts berating them for being new and not knowing what they’re doing and it makes them loose interest in it.

2:39 you dont have to retie your setup just take the spool of your reel. open the bail as if you would make a cast then put the spool back on the reel and their you go.

When you organize your bag and start throwing your tackle boxes and bait in random pockets

The first one: take the paint off around the eye with another hook or pocket knife.

When you have been at a spot for hours and haven’t caught anything but the person next to you has been there for 10 minutes and caught multiple.

Tip: if you forget to go under the bail just remove the spool and open the bail and put it back on it saves the time wasted tying

When you are fishing at a urban creek and those kind homelesses start shouting to you for no reason...

When you grab one eagle claw hook and bring all of them with you or get it stuck on the card board

A huge pet peeve of mine is when you take someone fishing and let them use a lure that they end up snagging and breaking off

I think it's time you pass the torch and give the channel to your little brother

When you get your carolina rig tied on and realize there's no sinker.

You should put a lure typically used for spinning rods on a fly rod. And or vice versa

Forgetting to flip your bail and watch ur lure sail away

When you go up to Alaska for the summer to work and fish and get home and have to steal back all your clothes and non-Alaska fishing stuff from your little brothers.

When you fish with your dad and he always asks you where things are

When your hook gets stuck on your net

When your line gets tangled in your drag and handle

When you don’t get the line under the arm, it’s so much easier to take off the spool than re-tying

Fishing “friends” that are sociopaths. When one million people move into your town all at once. (San Jose, Ca.) When people ask if they can use one of my rods. When people use one of my rods and screw up the line. When people use one of my rods and they reel up to the tip and break the ceramic insert. Having to tell people nobody uses my rods but me.

the spinning rod bail is easy. 1. Remove the spool. 2. Open the bail. 3. Put the spool back on

I been following Brendan for several years now but I find quite disconcerting the fact that his percentage of replying it’s very very low. I find him very interesting and smart but I guess not replying to questions it’s part of his gimmick? I love his show but I like the ones you get at least a thumbs up from the host. When you are trying to go fishing and your sister asks to come fishing so you pack a closed reel you constantly have to fix her reel hook he worms and while you are helping she grabs your baitcaster and...BIRDS NEST

Forget to put bail arm over? No problem. Remove bobbin, flip bail arm replace bobbin and flip arm back. Job's a goodun.

Rigging up without opening the bail is an easy fix. Just remove the spool, open the bail, and replace the spool.

Hate to say it but you forgot one thing. COTTON WOOD getting in your reel especially on a baitcaster it makes it impossible to cast. And it's even worse with braid.

best way to get those lures free. pinch the barbs.. then you wont ruin your backpack/container.. and the hooks still work good without barbs..

My pet peeve is when I try to take those gum bait things off (you know the shrimp, crab, or sand flea flavored strips over the mesh thing) and the fucking mesh gets stuck in the barb and you have to basically do surgery to get the mesh off the hook.

Take your brother fishing with you as often as you can. I have three sisters, I’d LOVE to have a kid brother!

1. When your fishing at dusk and the mosquitoes start swarming and biting you so bad you literally start running away. 2. When the smaller gators are so pesky you literally cannot fish topwater even though the fish are only hitting topwater. 3. When you go to set the hook and realize you forgot to set the drag.

When I saw the title was “fishing pet peeves” I thought it was about peoples’ pets run up to you and messes everything up like spilling the bait (when I was fishing in Alaska a guys dog runs up behind me and spills all the salmon egg bait over and I had to pick up every single egg) or sniffing a lure and ends up getting hooked (like what happened to my lab, except my brother was cleaning a lure he found at the beach and after he was done rinsing it off he swung it down by his side and our lab was following by brother and he didn’t know and when the dog went to sniff the lure he hooked his nose and had to take him to the vet to have it removed)

The worst is when you need a ride fishing, so you ask your sketchy, annoying friend to go, and he agrees, but then he brings his even dumber, dopeheaded friends as well so you have to say no and stay home and watch them all go on the fishing trip you organized... Also spilling shrimp-juice on your food in the cooler.

Swiss Army knife scissors are the best for freeing hooks and snipping a few threads. Signed, a kayak fisherman with soft bungees on the deck.

The old Uncle Josh pork baits were way worse than any plastic if you let them dry on your hook. Kinda like trying to cut through old shoe leather. Didn't take long either, a 45 minute drive home on a hot day was all it took.

When you catch one juvenile fish and like 10 crayfish. I feel like this has been covered before.

You don't have to retie when you forget to go under the bail arm just take the spool off open the bail arm put the spool back on close to bail arm

Funny story actually, today i was rigging a rod up and I forgot to run the line through the bail then I couldn’t reel and I was lik wTF

Pet peeve #1 When you stache looks like a 12 year old Dutch girls.

Some of my fishing pet peeves are the following getting a snag getting the hook stuck in the fishes mouth getting my line all tangled getting my line tangled in the bail getting algae everywhere on my hook and bobber Cold harsh conditions and casting the top of my rod off into the water. And the hook breaking off

None of those are pet peeves that stuff happens when you fish it’s life. Grow up and deal with if you don’t like it stop fishing. And I think you got a chocolate milk stain on your upper lip

Tbh I think those tackle boxes that you can customize cut corners by having those little tabs that hold the dividers together. They don’t fit right with them on or off. I bought a cheaper one that doesn’t have the dividers connected and to me it was 3x better

What about when you’re trying to get the swivel/line through the eye of a jighead only to see that paint (or whatever it is) is dried over the [eye] and spend a lot of time trying to get it out with another hook only for it to be in vain.

You don’t have to retie just unscrew you’re drag all the way take your spool out open you bail then put your spool back on then close your bail and screw your drag back on

Somehow having my line twisted around the rod at the tip before going thru the last eye

When you lose your favorite spoon in a River and when you fish it when the river dries up and when you find it and it rusted

My pet peeve: when you catch a big fish and literally 2 people fish next to you when they where fare away

my fishing pet peves are when youre standing on a rock and a boat comes flying by water gets under your feet and you slip also people who say there fish was like 5 pounds when in reality its like half a pound
