My Flight out of Morocco on a Bulgarian TAP!

Some flight reviews cover the most luxurious seats and cabins available. This one doesn't.
But this one does feature a lion, a man shouting in the terminal, displays of air crashes before we flew, a ghost, a unique seat warmer and the most beautiful landing view I've ever captured.
All that in one quick 7 minute flight review on an airline that is hard to define.
In today's world of code share flights and wet leases it can be difficult to know what airline you are actually flying. This was one of those cases where even now I'm not sure what I actually flew on my flight between Casablanca Morocco and Lisbon Portugal.
I had booked TAP - Portugal's national airline. However my itinerary said it was operated by Air Bulgaria - something that was further confirmed by the safety card on board. Yet the outside of the aircraft was painted in TAP Express livery. Confused? So am I!
Join me for the flight out of Morocco on a Bulgarian TAP! You'll be in for some surprises. Not least of which was a display of aircraft crashes and rescues at Casablanca Airport!!
There are also some great views out the window and a magnificent ghost curtain protecting the business class passengers from the riff raff seated in economy.
All and all a memorable flight out of Morocco on a Bulgarian TAP!

They need a cafe like that in Terminal 5 at Heathrow. That way you can have a drink while you wait half a lifetime for BA to get your bag back to you.

There are videos on the internet, there is a huge difference when you fly the real TAP and TAP Express and there are lots of differences between Tap express and wet leasaed companies. Looking forward to see you on a flight with real TAP.

Hi Dennis. I agree with you, those announcements at the airport were loud.... maybe they figure people can't then complain about not hearing any particular announcement !😂 On such a short flight, in economy, I can understand no no real food service...but at least a drink of water could be offered, especially during summer heat. Both Gold Coast and Tullamarine airports, when I have landed, there are coffee shops and the like both before and after getting luggage. ....not that I bother.... maybe that's different in Europe 😂

I used to occasionally fly a route with a ~20 minute flight time. At least on there, you’d get a beverage and a small snack from a speedy flight attendant.

That certainly was a pretty loud and echo filled announcement at the beginning, but on the other hand, some of them here in Frankfurt are on the extreme quiet end. I'm no big time world traveler, but In my experience, CLT (Charlotte, NC) and PMI (Palma de Mallorca) are the most audibly friendly. Glad to see you’re back for good. With Covid, we lost a couple of others, but the Aussies and Tarheel made it through. Just watched Jeb's latest, after you, it'll be Paul's.

Hi Dennis, the cafe at the luggage claim area is because you sometimes have to wait a really long time for your luggage (or at least that’s how it used to be). I guess Lisbon airport management saw a business opportunity there. Before there was a cafe, they had televisions to keep travelers entertained while waiting for their suitcases.

Sort of like the posters on Flying High or Airplane. A pilot friend used to read Air Crash Investigations when dead heading back to home base. He got a few comments. But stories he told me. Well. Happy flying. 😊

I think that's nice to have a cafe in the arrivals area, some people are hungry after traveling for a while, and also maybe after arrivals there is no store/cafe.

Hi Dennis. We flew TAP from Seville to Lisbon pre Covid on a turbo-prop which took about as long as your flight. With an easterly breeze, we took a long time over the ocean to land. Trust you enjoyed the custard tarts?! Cheers

Thanks for another excellent vlog. The only slightly weird aspect, literally, were the few times when your video was reversed. Most notable with the reversed paintwork on the aircraft while you were bussing to your flight, but also when you're shown looking out of the "A" seat window, after showing us the seat with the coat on it on the "D" side. 🙂

Thanks, yeah I know what you mean. Those bit were filmed on my Samsung phone and not sure how to 'reverse' or flip them back to normal. That said I forgot to flip the thumbnail too!!

3:31 Living the high life 🤣 Saddest meal I've see from TAP. Lisbon airport is the best place to contemplate your life, can't agree more 😂You need to check their flight Lisbon-Frankfurt on A321LH Neo (I have short review), defo a different level of service.😆

Hi Dennis Interesting I flew Tap end of 2019 between London and Lisbon and got a coffee or tea plus a rather yummy Portuguese Custard tart. I connected onto a flight to Miami with tap in Economy plus. Got an ok hot meal for this transatlantic flight.

Maybe the coffee shop is for the people who just landed of a small flight like yours where there was no service, and some people might have to travel a distance by taxi or bus or other transport right after so they dont get near another store for buying water, soda or coffee for the rest of the trip. Other than that, have you ever flown with SAS? They used to be a pretty good airline, but people say that these days its not very good any more.

Yeah... I'm a nervous flyer and if I saw images of previous crashes at an airport before flying... I'd opt for a boat... what on earth were they thinking??
