My Flosstube Plans for 2024 Revealed! 

When I was a child in the 70s, in the USA, a "jumper" was a type of winter-ish sleeveless dress, usually made of corduroy or denim that was meant to have a shirt of some type worn underneath, like a fancy blouse or turtleneck. We usually always wore tights and/or knee socks with our jumpers. Language is a funny thing! I laugh when I listen to the UK knitters talk about knitting up a wooly jumper.

Run don’t walk on Alice I have completed them all and they are fab to stitch and having them all done together is amazing

I have to giggle, my oldest WIP is coming up to 30 years old, but it was put away for many years when I stopped stitching - is it a WIP or do we call it something else? Thanks to the Fancy Lady SAL I got it out and I have made good progress. Hoping 2024 sees it finished. I have downloaded your tracker so hoping I'm going to be more organised.

Hello, Teresa. Thank you for Your video. It was very interesting to watch and listen about Your future stitching plans. Yet I am not sure if I spotted correctly, but I think that there is a colour mistake in Your Santa. I see in Your video, that near his beard there is some pink colour, and in the picture it is bright red in there.

Great plans! I’ve often wondered about trying a rotation like this - I’ve seen some people choose the amount of projects available to match the year - so this year, they’d be allowed to choose from 24 of their WIPs and can add in a new one when one gets finished. I’m excited to see how you like it! I also like your WIPGO reward to swap something out - sounds like the perfect amount of flexibility. 👍🏻

Hi Teresa, thank you so much for the shout out and I do apologise for the fact you added another new start to your already well thought out plans for 2024. I’m pretty sure it will be worth it though. If it makes you feel any better, since my 2024 plans video I’ve also added the UK flag as well as the Irish one 😂😂. Maybe that’s my kharma lol. Are you Libran by any chance? As you were explaining your thought process it made me realise that’s how I think about things too and I thought maybe you were Libran too 😂 Love all your WIPs and that Chatelaine is STUNNING! For your cxc project, you only have the blues started. What if you keep the cxc for those colors and do all of the rest in dmc so you can enjoy it more?

I turn 50 in 2024 and so my plans are to work on 50 projects 25 Christmas because that is my season to stitch and 25 sampler or seasonal projects, a lot of smalls for next year. Merry Christmas Teresa and Family.

Sweater. Is an American word that has been adopted over here and means the same as a jumper. Jumper in the US is a pinafore dress I believe.

Your plans have inspired to make an outline of what I want to do in 2024. Mostly I need to FINISH some of my WIPs. This past year I pulled out all that I had and realized just how many I started and set aside for other work that I felt was more important. Well they are important also. So this year I intend to finish one a month and try not to purchase or start anything new till one is finished. May you and your family have a joyous holiday.

I absolutely love my cxc threads! I prefer them over dmc now. I know we call what you are wearing a sweater and the other are hoodies or sweatshirts. I grew up knowing a jumper was a like a certain kind of dress that you typically wore a long sleeve under. It was popular in the 90s lol

Teresa I have a quesrion...I started a full coverage on 18 count aids but I struggle with the size...do you think my pie s would look as food on 16 count???? What's your thoughts?

Sweater = top you "sweat" in while wearing, makes sense to me. I am in the states so, it's a sweatshirt or hoodie for active wear and sweater for anything knitted or crocheted. IDK why people are so focused on words & pronunciation, we are all in different regions & countries. Americans tend to push their narrative as the ONLY correct way. The UK is older than America 😅 I wish people would were nicer and more accepting. I've been watching you from the beginning but never comment. ❤ I'm finishing mostly old projects this year. I was unsubscribed by RU-vid. That's ridiculous 😮

Im from Australia and we call jumpers the same as what you explained and sweaters qe dont really use that term. Love hearing all your plans for 2024. I also love how organised you are. Im trying to be more organised in 2024. You have inspired me to make bon bons in Christmas 2024 for my family. Just a thought with the cxc threads, could you just use cxc for the colours you already have done and any new colours worked on be done in dmc?

Love your Flosstube. If you don’t already you need to watch Stitching Big Things with Hallie. She is doing the Wool Shop and is working on her second cross stitch afghan. She uses a Q-Snap and you can see how she does hers in the middle. You both do a lot alike.

About using CXC for your Wool Shop WIP: after you are done with the current colours on CXC, just use another brand of yarn that you like on the other parts of the project. That's what I did with a current WIP I am working on. I found the colour of the DMC yarn to be brighter than what was provided on a kit. So I did a switch of the colours. Hopefully this helps you move on with this project.

Thank you Teresa for the video. After 48 years in the NHS I retired from teaching midwives in September. I decided to touch all of my WIPS, and I did,I put them all nicely lined up in a box. I took up stumpwork, EPP, revisited embroidery and Crewel work ,in the middle now of knitting a woolly jumper (my winter tradition). Starting a course at the RSN in the new year. So where is my excuse for no cross stitch. I think we all want to start all the things. I am hoping that it was my fear of giving up work that made me do it not Teresa this time 😂 I think I need a spread sheet, oh maybe I need a course in excel oops here we go again.

Enjoyed watching your video and hearing about your 2024 plans! I have used your spreadsheets in the past and really like them. I was wondering if there was an easy way to change it from tracking days to tracking nubmber of stitches instead? I tried on the 2023 spreadsheet and made a right mess of it! Apparently I am not Excel savvy lol..

I call them either jumpers or sweaters Teresa - or even a jersey. A hoodie or sweatshirt is totally different thing for me. Love your 2024 plans! Oh and with The Woolshop, could you use the CXC just for the sky and swap to DMC for the rest?

Hello Teresa, Thank you so much for your very informative and inspirational videos. I am a fairly new cross stitcher and I would like to advance to the more challenging and beautiful projects that are now available but feel apprehensive about taking on. Do you have any tutorials discussing the best ways for a almost beginner how and where to begin, also the best way to logically map out any pattern that makes it easier to follow. I would really like your take on this issue. I am a Brit living in Florida and I do get very homesick for England when I watch and listen to you. I am thinking about becoming a part time resident in England now that I have to time and inclination to visit all the beautiful places in England that I did not have the opportunity to do while living there many years ago. I stitched the Dormouse in the Alice series, he is super cute but there is more stitching and backstitching than you think but in my opinion the end result was worth it. Good luck with your plans!

Where would I find this Whipgo Or goal monthly planner. I would love to use it to incorporate all my quilitng, stitching, plastic canvas and paper crafts. I need to clear up my UFO Mountain. I also try to stick to the rule of no new till old one is done. One finished craft has another waiting to start, like a reward. My oldest (32 years) with my favourite new start, Poltergeist Pirate. I am sorry you are having such a time with the other floss. I know they do resemble DMC. When you start a new color can't you just substitute DMC? Hopefully you will not see a difference and could move on with it.
