Suggestion: If it hasn't happened lately, you might want to consider getting your yard treated on the regular, as you are the best in fostering those fur babies in need.

Idk about Westcoast but the east has gotten em HORRIBLE we have chickens & natural plants that should deter (not 2 mention always use preventative care) & still have found a few ticks on & brought in after being outside

Sugar mama here: Listen, you're tired, you work too much and you have to be a bit careful with your health. Puppies are lovely, and you're doing an amazing job rescuing. But it is hard work and not without worries. You need time after this foster period, to R&R and to enjoy life and all you've achieved. Don't feel bad when "doing nothing". Time off is necessary for new ideas, new inspiration and good decisions. Spend time with your good friends, have fun, travel. Enjoy being a loving & loved uncle & brother. Be proud of yourself, you've come a long way. For what it's worth: all my love & gratefulness, always. You've got this, just give it some time. ❤ PS Hurricane Hilary etc - stay safe. ❤

Part of your tick issue,is the wooden box you house the dogs in.ticks hide in the cracks &joinery of the sides&each separate board.solid acyclic walls with no place for ticks to hide is your best bet.they like dark places. Happy rescuing!❤
@RAINESTHESWIFTIE
@RAINESTHESWIFTIE 10 месяцев назад
Well Joey originally had them in the plastic clear box next to the wooden one but momma dog kept barking nonstop (probs at her reflection) so he had to move them over-

Poor little puppies had nasty ticks on them. I bet they felt much better once the ticks were removed. You're doing a great job of caring for the family of Golden Retrievers,Joey. Hopefully you've treated the area they sleep in to keep them from getting reinfested with anymore ticks.

I have only one golden retriever and it is already a lot of work, morning walks, wash the paws when we get home, give her attention, play etc etc…it is a lot, imagine with a bunch of them. Don’t be frustrated when you feel exhausted after taking care of all of them. You are doing such a lovely thing. Try to prioritize your things and then do one at a time

You should call a pest control place that does fleas and ticks in the yard and home. That is a LOT of ticks! I'd call the vet for tick and heartworm prevention meds for Mama at least & ask how old the pups have to be for meds.

It's summer so you may need to treat the yard, the side yard and their areas for ticks and fleas. I would check your dogs too because they may have them as well. Ticks are out mainly in the hot weather months! Those are the prettiest dogs EVER!! Ticks can hide between the paws and toes also.

Don't normally comment on these vids, but I thought I'd stop lurking to say it's impressive how much you've been able to give to dogs in need & I'm not surprised it's taken a lot out of you! On a serious note, it might be an idea to consider seeing a therapist/counsellor to see if there's an underlying issue with the burnout - as I think is usually the case. Hope you and the dogs start feeling better soon, you deserve it :)

Joey, I totally feel you. I work a 9-5 and have two small businesses with 3 kids and 6 dogs. So believe me, when I say I get it, I get it! Some days just getting through my work day is a struggle but when I give myself a break when I need it (if I can lol) things get back to normal for me. I think you should take some time and just relax, do the things you “have to do” and get yourself/your mind rejuvenated. You’ll figure things out and get back in the swing of things I’m sure!

Dogs can self mutilate thier tails when stressed and I think that's what happened with the puppies and coconut paw has a fungus from being in thier own filth for so long before being rescued. Bless you joey these pups are so better now in your care and healing up nicely. This is what makes me sad about backyard breeders. They can't all be shut down and rescued. But to the some that are they have angels like Joey to help.

Caring for the foster pups and your dogs has become your full time job in itself, so it's not a jot surprising that all you want to do is relax between... shifts.😁 You've pretty much become a veterinary nurse (my job before my son), which has a teeny tendency to be exhausting ....in every way 🤪 (On that note: the black is most likely ear mites in Milk's ears. They just need some drops (castor oil works too, put a dropper full into the ear and quelch it about a bit) to clear them up. (They're real common, nothing to worry about.. I'd always check for them. ). You, are an angel, dear sir...cut yourself some slack (esp keeping up with social media stuffs) and please, take care of you too. xxx

It's okay to take breaks from stuff, Joey. You're overworking yourself so much it's hard to find enjoyment in things. I hope you're still socializing with people in person and taking care of yourself. I know you really love Oatmilk but do you really think you can handle that many dogs while staying healthy at the same time? Are you still going to want and have time to foster dogs? Hunter is still a puppy and to my knowledge you're still training her, are you ready to start from square 1 again with Oatmilk while training Hunter? What if you go away and need someone to watch your dogs? I don't know if you know someone that's going to watch that many dogs. You might have to have different people looking after them, which can be really expensive. You also have Sakura to take care of. Again, I really hope you're looking after yourself. I'm sending you and your animals lot's of love and prayers.

I would worry about bringing a young male into the home (permanently) with Moonie. I suspect that once a male puppy reaches a certain age, Moon might become very territorial/aggressive as he was with Shadow. 😬 Moon seems like such a sweetie, but we had a territorial male husky like him when I was a kid. Moon seems to be more comfortable with females, and our husky was the same way. I love that, thanks to Joey, this mama and her puppers are all so people-friendly now! I think they will all be very adoptable 💜💖🙏🐾🐾🐾

thats not true. Moon and shadow were in the same litter, they had littermate syndrome. It's when 2 or more siblings start to get behavioral issues. However, Oatie and Moonie does not share the same DNA, infact quite the opposite, therefore those two would never act like how he did with shadow.
