I wasn’t aware of that sentiment. Is that like an anti-AI kind of thing, or are people just making bad music out there? Almost all of my patches have some level of generative elements, though I only label it that way if it plays a larger role.

@@allhandsmusicThe unsatisfying music I was thinking of is (apparently?) lazy, where “drone” and “generative” serve more as excuses than choices. OTOH much electronics I like best falls in these categories. I personally struggle to come up with tracks that I like.

@tracyharms3548 I see what you mean. Generative techniques can inform almost any kind of music, so I guess it shouldn't be a surprise that it is sometimes used in things we don't care for. As an analogy, I love the cello, but that doesn't mean that a piece with cello in it is automatically good!
