just sharing my experience about what I did to fix my furnace it would start up run for about 3 seconds and then shut down. I recommend if you don't feel comfortable taking your furnace apart and fixing it leave it to a professional to do it for you.
I removed in clean the flame sensor that was dirty and had stuff on the outside I think it's called a carbon buildup never done this before so it's got about 20 years of accumulation on it.
after I cleaned it put it back together everything is good and the furnace is working as it should.
