Maddie you tend to "bounce" at the bottom of your swing. Try to stay down in the shot instead of bouncing.

Hey Maddie a little advice from what I've seen as I been watching your progression is your lifting your head during your down swing which is causing you to top the ball or miss completely and also your dropping your shoulders during your down swing as Well and lowering your knees sometimes to which can cause you to hit the grass behind ball n not get anywhere just my observations

I take my wife to top golf, and she loves it. But bringing her on the course may kill the escape that golf gives. I love my wife, she's the best. But this quarantine shit makes me need a getaway. That's golf.

Maddie, you gotta start somewhere! Golf is an interesting sport for sure! As Matt said, “It grabs your insides, throws them on the ground and stomps on them” but the trick is to set up your surrounding to have your insides not thrown on the cart path but rather on the comfortable/softness of the ever so beautiful green 🙌

Love watching this journey. Have Maddy tee up every shot just to get the confidence and the feeling of hitting the ball cleanly. When she gets confident enough she can play it as it lies.

This was literally deja vu from me! I just got my wife into golf a month ago, she is on the taller side too and we got her the Cobra F-Max too! Her priority was a bag and headcovers lol.

Hey so quick note for the best female golfer ever. The crazy thing about learning to play golf is that its like growing up. it takes a long time. Youre gunna have good days, youre gunna have bad days, great days and terrible ones. As you grow up (get better at the game) youll see it get easier but youll still have bad days. Thats okay, just laugh it off and look to the next shot. It wont happen over night but eventually youll get there. Then Matt will be asking you for help and questioning why he trained a better golfer than himself. Also, we are all here to watch and support you. Also some people cant play golf right now because they blew their fingers off with a firework on fourth of July (i did that) so we enjoy watching you enjoy playing while we cant. Keep up the great work

I used to play golf when I was a kid and just recently got back into it, I’m not the best and I get frustrated here and there, and earlier in the summer I would get very nervous in front of strangers, because I wasn’t very good. I’ve realized that those strangers looking at me have been at the spot I was and still partially in, and they have bad shots too, everyone was a beginner at some point, golf is such a fun and challenging sport, keep practicing and you’ll learn to love it to the point of draining your bank account 😂

So best beginner tip to make good contact is don’t lift your back up and down during your swing, just rotate around wherever your setup at. Keeping your head down doesn’t do anything, it’s about your back. Maddie stands up during her back swing - this is what I’m saying not to do, just rotate, no up and down tilting. I know there are so many other things lag, swing plane, grip, ball position, alignment...etc. but imo hitting the ball is numero uno. I still use this tip to avoid chunking and thinning

I think the glove on left hand as a right hand golfer is due to applying more pressure on the grip with that hand. So a glove on that hand will prevent blisters if you have that death grip. That’s what I at least think. 🤷🏻‍♂️

as a lefty who bought a right handed glove and proceeded to lose it on he way to the first time i was gonna use it. I can in fact confirm that my right hand is hella blistered lol

100% plus a right hander has a better grip with the right hand and the left needs the glove to help.

also, the tip that helped me out the most when i was starting out was focusing on my last 3 fingers of the left hand @matt u might wanna make maddie look into that to get rid of her hinge problem

My wife had issues making consistent contact with the ball while we played. I got those foam practice balls and let her practice hitting them around the yard until she could hit them straighter. She enjoys the game more now. Even tho she makes terrible shots but she knows as soon as she swings that she didn't swing correctly. Let her learn her own way. It's okay if the swing path isn't perfect. She's not competing. It's solely just to have fun and spend time together.

When I started playing golf my dad taught me to tee up in every shot I was playing, weather its the range or in the course. This method might be useful for the rookies. :) I was very shy but it gave me more confidence and made me want to play more golf.

Adhabul Purnaveja I think this is interesting because it’s what my dad did for me too, but I think it was bad advice. It promotes a swing that works well for hitting driver but not for compressing irons into the ground. 20 years later and I’m still better with my driver than my irons because of it. I tell newbies just to learn to hit off the ground even if it’s frustrating. At least then the person learns right away what works and doesn’t work

@@3DaysTillGrace The reason for using a golf tee is practicing to make solid impact in every shot and hit through the ball. The trick is my dad only teed it up just a fraction, like when you tee up on a par 3 with a short iron and that gave me the confidence. Nowaday I'm just only a 9 handicaper, self-taught and never had lessons with pros but I hit every club pretty solid, like 1.47-1.51 smash factor. But the downside is I'm kinda like a sweeper so sometimes I hit a thin shot.

Maddie, you'll get better. I just started at the end of last season, I still suck, but definitely have improved. Just enjoy the time out, just don't overthink. It will kill the fun.

My honest opinion is that it looks like Maddie has a lot of potential, she is just swinging the club down at the ball instead of through it. Have her think about trying to clip the grass just in front of the ball like she was swinging a scythe. Could also help her alignment if she lined her feet and club face with something within 2 feet of the ball, that has really helped my game recently. The golf journey never really ends, it just evolves overtime. Yay yay

The left hand is the leading hand for a righty golfer, which is mainly gripping the club. Right hand is "meh" when it comes to actully gripping the club. More important for the left hand to maintain a good grip so the club isn't slipping. ... or so I've been told.

Steve ur a lucky man. Maddie simple tip that will help tremendously. When u address ball pull ur right hip and shoulder back about 1 inch. And on down swing throw ur right hip towards target

Maddie, golf is a hard sport to play and it takes a long time to get good at it. You have to have lots of patients to get better. Dont worry about how you are playing now as the more and more you play the better you will get. Dont give up and have fun while you are playing no matter how bad or good you might be playing in your round. And when you do hit a great shot it makes you feel good and want to play more. Keep the faith and you will improve your game and in time you will become a good golfer. Dont give up on yourself. Hang in there. I know you can conquer the sport of golf!

Keep at it and you'll be a pro in no time! Don't focus on power, focus on accuracy. Don't seing so far back because that's more distance for things to go wrong. Slow back swing and quicker forward swing. Don't try to hit the ball hard, just let the club do the work and gradually work on putting more power in. Keep your forearm as straight as possible. Stance and release already look great, keep at it! love the content! Edit: I love Matts positivity!
