You see its particularly bad for me i can and never will show my girlfriend my plastic shame. Its not bad as in how many models i have but rather my girlfriend comes from the Philippians and her family while great people never had a whole lot of money seeing how much money i have spent she would look at it as such a stupid waste of money and most likely whoop my ass for it haha.

I still have my Assault on Black Reach Box Set. I bought it to be my gateway into the game back when I was like 9 or 10. I really wanted to use that to get into Tau as well, but then I kind of got overwhelmed by the game as a kid. Fast forward a decade or so and I just found it again stashed away in my Shed about a few weeks ago, and have gone on a massive painting and assembly phase, learned the rules of 8th edition, and taught its simpler aspects to a few friends. We've played a few small scale games and they all love it. I've even created a fuckton of terrain and have found it all to be an incredibly therapeutic experience. I may not have got into the tabletop back in 2009, but its kind of nice that eleven years later Black Reach still served as my gateway into the game despite that. If there's one thing this video made me realize, it's that its never too late to start. Now that I'm almost done with the set, I think its time I finally look into starting that Tau army. Edit: Spelling.

This is absolute insanity lmao. This makes me weak at the knees looking at this. Due to being a 3 hour round trip to the nearest games workshop I have atleast 75% of every box I own painted :). I mean yeah it’s a lot of plastic.... but on the bright side Atleast you have something to show for it and your not addicted to drugs or booze. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this !! Regarding the IG Taurox, "Let's make it ORKY!" I'd convert that to a Looted wagon! I'm in the same boat dude. I still have Rogue Trader era stuff bare lead & primed beakies on sprue plus untouched minis from 2nd and 3rd ed box sets.

After a while everyone in this hobby ends up with at least a small pile of shame, but I don't understand how you can have a bunch of entire box sets that you didn't even open. As soon as I buy some, I've got the box ripped open lol.

OMG assault on black reach was my first ever Warhammer 40k experience, shamefully lost all the model (got it back when I was like in 1st grade or something) my parents got it for me and my other siblings, good times

I find it almost impossible to resist building any minis I've got, even if I don't plan on painting them any time soon. It's just do fun cutting it all out and gluing it together.

I’m glad that there are people who have real issues like this so I can live vicariously through their afflictions without having to sink any money in myself. I’ll admit it, I’m a total Warhammer and 40K dilettante, who mostly plays Total War Warhammer and Dawn of War to get my fix. For everything else, there’s wonderful channels like Midwinter Minis!

Here’s an idea: every time you clear a sprue, chop it up and use it for terrain giveaways, they make great tank traps or building frames 😉

@@fiftyonenorth Sprues + paper soaked in dilute PVA are 90% of my Necromunda market stalls and shanty buildings. Never, never, never chuck your sprues!

That's no pile of shame. It is called Bitz-Box. I can relate... sooo badly. I helped myself with storage boxes from the hardware store that are usually used for screws and stuff. I detached all sprues and put them into those boxes. So I have a drawer full of weapons, a drawer full of human legs, torsos etc. That way at least it looks less AND you get wonderful ideas for kit bashes. Recently I built a Wasteland-Scraptank for a yet unknown purpose, out of an old revell Beetle, some weapon parts from Kromlech, an Ork BattleWagon, a Trukk, lots of small bits from various sources and some plastic card to fill the gaps. Some time ago I did that with a firebelly, an ale guzzler gargant, a talos, some old metal parts from an old ogryn, the head of a new plastic ogryn, yet some plastic bits, some more plastic bits and lots of green stuff... to create a dreadnought sized Frankenstein's Monster armed with a flame thrower... I call him FRANKENOGRE... or just Junior. For me it's a fun way to at least reduce the amount of unbuilt minis.

Loved the video Guy & Penny, also many thanks for the shout-out at the start 💜 That is indeed a massive #QueueOfInspiration 😜 you have there, and I like the Challenges you have set yourself! I myself am doing a #NoMinis2020Quest in which I don’t buy any Minis or hobby supplies this year (4 exceptions granted) and that has worked thus far really good - maybe something for you to consider!

You could use the terrain for a bulk painting guide for a single board color scheme. I've seen a lot of new player boards either having disjointed/not matching or not much terrain. It really helps sell the narrative if the board looks fleshed out more.

Bro, go for my sneaky trick Cut them out of the sprues, sort them (slightly) and put them in various small boxes (Still having the boxed sets together, I find zip-lock works very well for that) Now she is impressed by how well organized you keep your bits :)
