The best combination with idli and dosa is kari kolambu (chicken or mutton gravy) and dosa will be fantastic with all chutney and sambar. Your fan from India ,Tamil nadu(southern part of India).

I really love u follow tradition n cultures, as typical South Indian we try idli r dosa dipping with sambar n chutney both at a time(like mixing both u know) I’m sure u will love if u try too haha... and ya do try dosa with South Indian chicken curry it’s way too delicious as for non vegetarians and also try some Pongal, Upma , South Indian sweets... i vll look forward to that ,I’m really happy u both tried n love it... be happy n try more foods

Rava is actually semolina and no it doesn't contain eggs.. It has the same potato filling as normal masala dosa.. The only difference is it's made of semolina and normal one is made of rice.. Glad to know you enjoyed it

Dosa and Vada is actually best eaten at the restaurant hot and crispy off the Pan,especially Dosa. Because Dosa looses it's crispiness when packed and brought home. But, amazingly you understand South Indian food and mixed with the chutney. Especially with coconut chutney. And you got it right about dipping/soaking vada and idli wholly into Sambar and chutneys ☺👍

"Rava" means "Semolina" second "Dosa" which u both had the base was made of "Semolina Batter" & the first "Dosa" which u both had was made of "Rice Batter" the "Idli's" were made of "Rice Batter" too.. but the "Medu Vada's" were made of "Black Lentils / Urad Dal" you can also mix "Coconut Chutney" with "Sambar/Soup" is commonly eat with all of them but even u can add "Other Chutnie's" as per ur taste..

There is many different dosa in South India... You can come to India to eat the food in its true flavour... And we Indians eat dosa by mixing it with every chutney given...

Bro, since I’m a South Indian from Chennai, living in Toronto, Canada, would like to thank you for taking the opportunity to try our very famous South Indian Break Fast ”Dosa & Idli” As you asked that how to pronounce? It’s very simple. It’s called Dosa and not “Dosha” hope it’s clear now. Secondly, Dosa & Idli always comes with the combination of Sambar, Coconut & Onion with Tomato Chutney(Redone) Green chutney is called Mint Chutney which is hard to see South Indian eat with Dosa & Idli. But Mint chutney is mostly the best combination with Samosa. Idk, why they gave you Mint chutney for Dosa? Rest everything you explained very well and clear to your girlfriend. Lastly, I have a small suggestion. There is no word called curry for all the Indian dishes because every dish has its own name. Curry means prepared with thick flavour with plenty of spices depending upon whether it is prepared with meat or vegetables. Also, curry is not a soup where you can drink with the spoon which will sometimes kick you to diarrhea depending upon your body condition. For us, we use to it, but as a foreigner, pls always try sambar with a combination with the dish. Thanks for eating food with your bare hands which are considered as giving respect to the food but please don’t use the left hand. That is considered an insult in India to use our left hand to eat. Since you are not familiar with eating with hands, it is quite acceptable but not anymore in the upcoming video. Another personal suggestion is next time try to use the spoon to take all the side dishes like Sambar & chutney to your plate instead of the dipping in the whole container. That’s not the right way. Please check out how Indian food is served in the restaurants so that you may get some idea. That’s it dude. Keep rocking. I’m waiting for your video 👏👍❤️

Rava means Semolina (Suji/Rava same thing)

After you dip the vada and idli in chutneys. You must take a sip of sambar. And I hope sambar is still hot. Then you can enjoy it better.

It’s actually “doh say” and “vuh day”... you actually pronounced sambar correctly though, kudos for that! And idli is actually really good an after extraction food, i personally suggest it to my patients 😊 hope you guys enjoyed the experience of having South Indian cuisine.
