We, likewise, are so greatly blessed by the rich, Christ-exalting music they share with the Body. Grace and peace!

That’s definitely something we have to consider in songs these days. However, if the name of Jesus being absent from a song immediately makes that song illegitimate and questionable then much of the Psalms would fall into that category. Psalm 148 and 150 for example, don’t mention the name of Jesus even once. The attributes in those psalms however reveal to us that it’s the Lord, the God of creation. Yahweh, the One true living God who owns the earth and heavens and all that is within it. Obviously we’re not comparing any other song with Sacred Scripture but the principle remains. Or consider the book of Esther. It doesn’t even mention God let alone Jesus, yet it’s presupposing that the believer understands what God we’re talking about. This song does mention God the Father and is seemingly written directly about Him. It is true that many songs mention Jesus’ name and yet contain false qualities of the true Jesus, if not outright heresy. I appreciate your attentiveness brother. Grace and peace to you.
