​@@AndyHorcasitas-ck6dn most exodias decks need to loop their draw engine to be able to draw all pieces of exodia as quickly as possible. If you start with 4 pieces and another card, chances are that either your last card is brick, a card that needs to discard others cards, or a card that works with everything else in your deck but exodia pieces.

He just misplayed and it's not like I can say he really did that other player just had the right opening hand, the luck of the draw. But if he had attacked with Jet 1st Sangan would have just been returned to the hand and down to 1k LP on 1st turn. It's not that he played badly just the way it happens sometimes.

@@toooes it's the first duel in the anime series. Kiba vs yugi, with yugi winning with exodia. In the og duel yugi just had to draw into exodia, here yugi had both a good starting hand to get him the win. Plus he would of been facing down blue eyes who almost gave Kiba the win in the first duel.

Both of those rules are still in effect. The person playing second can attack on their first go because it is the second turn of the game, not the first. They were doing fancy shenanigans to special summon all of those monsters on their side of the field too, which is why there was a bunch of cards flipping around out of their hand.

@@carlsagan3999literally drawing one exodia card in a 40 card decks lowers the percentage same with 60 cards so drawing all five is luck and so is drawing more than one piece basically he got lucky that he drew a card that gave him the last piece

​@@ValkynShadethat isn't once in a lifetime odds, you have 0,03 % chance of opening with 4 parts of exodia, that's one in three thousand games, not that bad. If you play regularly yu gi oh and only exodia, it could happen multiple times pretty easily

FYI he drew it when his monster died on the opponent's turn, not his turn 2. When Sangan dies, he was able to pull the last piece by choice from his deck. He might as well have grabbed all 5 pieces turn one. All he had to count on was the opponent beating the crap out of Sangan ... Which sadly he did. xD Makes it all the sweeter, I'm sure.

I run a Blue-Eyes deck myself, and I have to say that it's actually fairly common to get two of my dragons out first turn. The problem is that so many other archetypes are much better optimised for this kind of thing and unfortunately Blue-Eyes has been neglected as far as proper support goes. It's got some fun combos but if you play it against others enough you quickly realise there's a big difference in how it runs in comparison

You could have two 3000 ATK Dragons, Turn one way Back with the old cards. Just Play Lord of the Dragons and Dragon Flute.

the "delay" is because on the opponent's side, they see each piece of Exodia flip up in the player's hand before the monster himself pops up on screen. Master Duel does not make this clear to the Exodia player

The skill is in reducing the inconsistency in your deck and making it work in any situation. But most of the time I'm unlucky enough never to draw land still.. 😅

Every card game in existance is like this. It will always depends on the cards you get.

Technically, Yugioh (as in the tcg), MTG, and other tcgs get around the issue of luck by virtue of you building your own deck. You can still get screwed occasionally, just you can simply make your deck consistent enough it would be really unlikely to not do its thing. Yugioh, *the anime,* on the other hand, doesn't get this excuse since cards and their rules themselves are created on the fly.

Lol that Blue Eyes deck is not even close to the strongest thing to play either. Really at this point in Yu-Gi-Oh though it's important to consider that their is a lot more interaction points to stop some of the absurd boards. My HERO deck can pretty reliably end with 5 monsters on field all over 2500 attack while still holding 3-4 cards for next turn if my opponent doesn't interact with me at all.

@@luxumbra7602 I won't lie brother, but that sounds like a dreadfully boring experience if that's what the games mechanics have boiled down to. I can't say that the game was perfect in my times of playing when Yu-Gi-Oh was first introduced to the US, but at least is was moderately paced and enjoyable, this just look like an epileptic seizure in card form.

Considering it was on YGO Master Duel, it was a legit win - It's possible to get a "Turn zero win" if you draw all 5 cards in your first draw, though the chances are ridiculously small - The first card has a 5/40 chance of being a piece, followed by 4/39, 3/38, 2/37 and 1/36 chance, totalling 1/658008 chance of drawing all 5. Small chance, but not impossible.

Although in this case, a banish or a bounce would have been better, since any method of sending Sangan from field to grave ends up with the Exodia win.

Modern yugioh rules make the way they played early in the anime seem fair and balanced

First, the opponent activated a spell to get a "Blue-eyes" card or the ritual spell (picked at random among 3). Then, they used the ritual spell. After that, normal summon the level 4. Use the level 4's effect by discarding a card. This lets them bring a "Blue-eyes" monster from their grave. Move to battle phase and attack (The ritual has piercing but with double damage). Not very complicated tbh

0.00000152% chance of that happening. which is somewhere between 650,000-660,000 of occurring. Don't know the exact number and not gonna waste time on finding it. Just use probability and multiply them together it. 5 cards in the deck you are looking for and 40 cards total so (5/40) * (4/39) * (3/38) * (2/37) * (1/36). Good luck actually getting that to happen though.
