Why am I so passionate about avoiding meditative problems? Because I went through most of them. MY BOOK: a.co/d/20O2lWu / forrestknutson www.meditative... Thank you to Doug Gemmell for the amazing music!
From a tiny village in Wales, just want to say I love your talks Forrest... been watching for a year now but only just started commenting. Sending sincere thanks to you with utmost respect.
Wow, I had a very similar experience. It took me a really uncomfortably long time but it did finally intuitively come that I needed more Earth in my life. It seemed opposite of what I wanted so I did it begrudgingly. I also intuitively came to japa meditation just cause I realized it was the only thing that got me out of that really uncomfortably high place. I thought higher meant better but it definitely doesnt. I’m not a teacher but I can vouch from personal experience and finding these things on my own that what he is saying also worked for someone else who did not know about his teachings.
Great timing, Forrest! The grounding part is essential and sometimes I get too entertained in the upper realms if you know what I am saying. I gotta get back to my Navi. My headaches were getting very persistent, but a couple of friends of mine helped me out of the maze I was in. Thanks for sharing. Blessings and blissings!
Gd day to you Sir, Im Divya from South India, a big fan of your teachings and have been sincerely practising it and also have been benefitting from the practises. Ive bough all the 3 online courses and was spellbound by the amount of valuable knowledge you've taught in them. I have one small clarification You always mention that the brain's limbic projection is in the form of the chakras..but now heart math and other researchers say that heart has its own neurons and can think independent of the brain...I would like to know what do you think about this pls ? Also do u give online deekshas for the Kriya Yoga teaching ? I honestly have my highest regard for u as my guru 🙏 my sincere pranams to u ji.Namaste 😊
It’s interesting you mentioned qigong. I decided to do about 6 minutes of zhan zhuang yesterday and did some forward bends (not mahamudra though) and Navi beforehand and HPV breathing while standing. It was tough as I’m out of practice but felt very calming, and I had a great energetic day with very smooth breathing all day. Grounded is a good way to put it. HPV pranayama may be ideal for standing meditative practices as well. I also think I understand the fear that you mention we need Navi to defend against. When my mind would get so quiet during meditation I’d sometimes get anxious and paranoid: I’d wonder if something is wrong with my brain and I’d suddenly forgotten how to think. Lately I’ve been doing 3 rounds of Navi and don’t get that fear.
Hi Forrest, much appreciate your breathing app. A question you may have answered before. In the Gita is described a practice of gazing at end of nose, sort of cross eyed. Is there a name for this mudra in your system. I find this naturally occuring without effort, I call it the 'yogic gaze' can walk for miles like this with tranquil breathe. :)
In the autobiography of a yogi, Yukteswar suggests the correct translation is "origin of the nose" -- in one of his books Todd Murphy give a technique using the end of the nose in order to trick the Mind into letting go of the "seeing" 🪷🙏
I tried a BIT of Kundalini Yoga sessions that the White Sikhs were putting out on RU-vid. (Maybe 3 or 4 times?) But I'm not sure if it was the beginning of my troubles. Currently I experience tightening in my psoas area, that can "spasm" up and down my spinal Chakras. It feels like a tractor beam on my head, repeating everything I say, and like "Evil" fallen angels, trying to get me kicked out of my apartment and shamed by past behaviors. (Some real -- others exaggerated, and still others, flat out lies.) Even the smallest, most simple, stupid thing is brought up like an accusing demon or devil(s). I'm 70 now. I quit meditation for years... bearing the .. Tightening of the belt" around my stomach area. Anything I can do??
I've watched your video on locating the chakras many times and am able to roughly locate them but do we need to put our awareness while doing om japa on those corresponding vertebrae or there's something else we need to look for because I can't feel any energy there.
@ForrestKnutson Hi Forrest, thank you so much for your videos. I have a question that I'm hoping you can help me with. I've been doing Om japa in the chakras for a while now and it has been great for me. I also find myself, from time to time, kind of doing an all-body Om japa that comes up spontaneously for me in my meditation. I'll scan from head to toe up and down, up and down throughout the body while chanting Om internally. Do you ever do anything similar? Does this type of Om have similar positive effects? Kind of a whole body Om that cleanses the entire body?
Sir, I understand that You are man of experience, a realised one. So I have a doubt, how come you fall prey of Maya and got married after realisation. Why did you need to come back to this dualities of pleasure and pain from realisation/striving for realisation of Sat-Cit-Ananda after such profound experiences?
Lahiri Mahasaya would regularly recommend to his students to embrace the Householder life and marry. In fact, when Panchanan Bhatacharyaji asked for Kriya, Lahiri Baba told him to go get a job, and then come back for Kriya. This adds to the balance, and allows the Householder to work out desires through their life. I'm not the only lineage to speak about this. ... Though not to say that marriage is for everyone.
