Hi guys! Thank you all so so much for your comments, support, and sharing your own stories. I'll be saving many of your questions for a future video(s) including a Q&A, so look out for that sometime in the future. One of you said in the comments that we're all in this together, and you know what? We are. Regardless of your health struggle, nobody is ever alone. Thank you all so much for watching and listening. xo Meghan

Thank you very much for sharing your story. I had a really bad time a few years back because they detected the presence of HP in my stomach. Except that they gave me the big treatment for those having ulcers due to this bacteria, yet I was only having sometimes some light pain and was bloated. In short, the prolonged antibiotics (20 days, it was crazy!!!) and no probiotics to help maintain my flora resulted in a catastrophe. I couldn’t digest anything without having skin rashes, more pain in my stomach, lost of a appetite. And it touched everything, including my hormones. I learned nutrition afterwards and did some research, complemented with pro/prebiotics, spirulina etc. My gut health after 4 years finally seems to be coming back to “normal”, but I still have fluctuations about my cycles. So my question for you, dear Meghan, is how would you regulate your daily food intake (and supplementation) to regulate your menstruations? I’d love to know your ways. Because I already tried a few things according to what I’ve learned in holistic nutrition, but I do trust you more. Anyways, sorry for the long text. I wish you health and lots of joy! Love from Switzerland.

I had c diff in November 2021 took Vancomycin and thank godddd I haven't had any issues since. I took L-Glutamine early on and ate probiotic foods, eliminated junk/processed foods from my life and I think that truly healed me. Now January 2022 I can eat all foods and have alcoholic beverages like I did before C diff but I am definitely more mindful of the foods I eat now and I eat more for nutrition and well-being than pleasure.

Your intestinal lining actually uses L-glutamine as fuel to create a strong surface for digestion and absorption. Supplementing with L-glutamine is the most effective treatment to heal the gut lining for those suffering from leaky gut, malabsorption, or inflammatory bowel disease (IBS, Crohn's, Ulcerative colitis).

Hi Meghan, thank you for sharing your experience. I was diagnosed with C Diff in February this year after taking antibiotics to cure a skin infection. After a 10 day course of Vancomycin, the symptoms subsided. However, a week after the antibiotic course, I relapsed in March. This time the symptoms were much more severe, I couldn't eat and could rarely drink and I was in hospital for a couple of days. The hospital put me on an anti sickness drug which yes, stopped me from going to the toilet, but it didn't stop the infection building up inside. They needed a stool sample to confirm the C Diff had returned before they could treat me with anti-biotics. So I waited in excruciating pain for several days until the doctors eventually gave me a 14 day course of Vancomycin. I remember after taking the first tablet, within an hour I felt much better. I took them this time with probiotics (ones that I could take with antibiotics), so I would build up the good bacteria. This worked okay-ish... My gut, as you have said, has never gone back to normal. I am having to eliminate foods from my diet in fear of having another "episode". Now, in June, I fear another relapse is in progress. I just think the infection has done irreparable damage to my already sensitive gut :( . I have been reading and watching several videos of treatment of C Diff, relapse rates and antibiotics etc, hence how I have stumbled across your video. It is causing unnecessary stress and anxiety in already a difficult time for everyone with this pandemic, I just want it to go away! 😒

Well, try to slowly build up your gut biome. Slowly, very slowly add bits of cooked vegetables, take Tributyrin-X, take good enzymes when you eat. Add a bit of humic, fulvic acids to your water. Take good probiotics. These things would gradually help. I am getting better gradually. I have IBS-D. It has been severe.

I had A horrible strain of CDIff in 2014. They started me on vancomycin but every time I stopped it it came back. After several months they gave me Dificid. It’s much stronger than vancomycin and it targets only the CDIff bacteria, and not your good bacteria. I don’t know why they don’t prescribe that to people because vancomycin works while you are taking it, But as soon as you stop it the CDIff comes back. Once I took the deficid for 10 days, the C diff never came back. Maybe you could ask your doctor about it if the CDF comes back.

Thank you for “coming out” with your experience with C-diff. I have been sick with IBS and general gut issues forever. A couple months ago I had a diverticulitis episode and was given two antibiotics that resulted with a trip to the hospital and 7 day stay for C-diff. A reoccurring bout 4 days after completing the antibiotics for C-diff. Felt great for about 5 days while in antibiotics but now, 5 days out from completing that 2nd round of antibiotics and I’m not feeling at all well. I’ve been on a low fiber diet since mid Aug. A friend gave me a juicer. I’m wondering if you have any info about juicing fruits and veggies? For instance, if I can not consume any raw fruits or veggies, can I drink them by juicing with the skins. For instance I made a juice with green apples, cucumbers and lemons. I can’t find any info on this and don’t want to aggravate whatever is going on now. Thank you for opening up about this. It is personal and I also want to stay in denial and hope it goes away if I don’t talk about it! Right!?!? It’s life changing for sure. With appreciation. Fellow struggler.

Thanks for sharing your story. I have been fight with this same thing for 4 years now and have tried everything. Had all the same tests you have mentioned and Drs just use the term IBS as a blanket statement for we don't know what it is. My triggers are stress, constipation and a lack of sleep. I just want to say to everyone here that is suffering from this awful thing, that i recently have been taking magnesium and that seems to help for constipation but what really has given me the most relief is the colloidal silver i have made myself. I did my homework in this process and can say that for me it has given me 4 months of relief and i have been eating all the same foods pre IBS. If anyone else has tried it with success please share your story.

So glad you shared this with us, it must have been difficult, but as someone who's had pretty much the same problems i totally understand it! I had post infectious IBS after a ruptured appendix left too long gave me peritonitis. Like you it eventually resolved itself a couple of years later with avoiding certain foods etc. (my mum's a dietitian on the NHS here in the UK - very helpful to have at home!). But at university it came back with a vengeance after I had to take loads of antibiotics for bacterial tonsillitis. I'm still getting over it five years later, the thing that helped me the most is following a low fermentation diet for SIBO. I think it's quite similar to Fodmap, i basically avoid any food that ferments in my small intestine, which would feed the bad bacteria. It has helped a lot, as I wasn't allowed to take any more antibiotics. There are still bad days as i'm still dealing with adhesions left by surgery for the appendix getting in the way as well, but I feel as though it's getting better. I also had developed a fear of food, still dealing with that in therapy as I need to gain some weight, but i'd never heard of anyone else with this problem, so thank you so much for doing this video, it's nice to know we're not alone! ❤️ Hugs from England xx

I’m going through something similar ! After many different doctors visits I was Diagnosed with LPR by an ENT and given a Prilosec (this coming after two rounds of antibiotics for chest congestion and allergic rhinitis). I feel like it wasn’t helping one bit, so I made diet changes, and I’m now following a natural supplement regimen. However, I feel like my gut hasn’t been the same since the antibiotics. I’m going to see a chiropractor tomorrow in hopes that a readjustment will help get my bowels moving properly again. This journey has caused me to lose a lot of faith in doctors, but hopefully it will be back to normal life soon!

I have had IBS D since coming back from Thailand in "05 but have had major progress in 2012 after I did a hypnotherapy program (tapes from a dr in the UK) after my worse year in 2011...it helped the chronic pain and no I only get 1 -5 bad morning a month instead of daily attacks...I had to stop dairy gluten eat and go vegan whole food plant based and as organic as possible to keep the FM pain under control though... I suspect Lyme disease was also a factor as I also got much better after homeopathy for Lyme in 2013 ( I couldn't drive because my legs cramped so bad it was like having knives in the thighs and then trying to walk, or flex...). By 2014 I was driving and biking daily with no pain again... I went through that situation too, when I was in 7th grade. It was absolutely horrible. Couldn't eat anything and was always hungry and became very irritable and angry with everything and everyone because of it. I've never experienced it again, but also have never ever been the same. Every year I notice that there's another thing that I can't eat anymore, because it makes my gut upset. I've started a food journal this year and tracked everything I eat in a day and how those foods make me feel. It's easier to remind myself "Hey, don't eat that or eat just a small portion". I still have a quite unhealthy lifestyle and I am sure it has contributed to the gradual intolerance of some foods, but I'm taking steps towards becoming more healthy. Thank you for sharing your story! :)

Still having some problems and trying to figure out how to manage this in the best way possible but It definetly changed a lot of things in my life and I kinda always have that fear that it'll relapse. One of the doctors that saw me said to me "relax, u'll never get rid of this type of problem, u'll just learn to keep it under control" 😅. It helps to know that other people got thru with it and are now somehow near normal.

Hi, are you okay now? I have the same problem and recently completed the course of Flagyl, but I still go to the toilet 2-4 times a day (and it's not watery diarrhea, just unformed or very soft). it always pulls the stomach like during menstruation before going to the toilet.

IBS is easily curable through ayurveda(ancient methods for treating various disease in India) If you want to cure ibs you have to take following medicine for aprox 4-6 month with strict diet and yoga. but have no idea these medicine is available in your country but you can get these medicine from India if you have any friend or relative - Bilvadi churan Or belgiri churan (1tabkespoon after meal morning and after dinner) -kutajghanvati(2-2 tablets after meal) -chitrakadi vati( " " " ") -kurtajharista syrup ( 4 tablespoon with equal amount of water two time after meal) it's good to cure diarrhea and you can take ishabol instant of this if you have constipation. As per ayurveda these medicine increase your digestive fire and balance your all dosha's I was also suffer from IBS and now iam totally fine Thank you 😊

Being 19 , and having all this happening to me has really taken a toll on me . It’s been almost 2 months . June 18th was the day . It felt like I got hit by a truck , it was awful , nausea and stomach pain , I was told I had the stomach flu when I first went , was given some stuff for nausea, then two weeks went by, then three weeks , then a month , and I just was not getting better , I was eating nothing , and just really only drinking fluids and I lost plenty of weight , my fear of food , and the symptoms had me so terrified , I then go to a different doctor and I’m told I have ibs , and they prescribe me all these medicines , etc . The issues still continued , but Something good happens and for a week or so I’m feeling really good , not really having any major issues , no real big flare ups , no nothing , I go to the gi just for another opinion, etc , and I’m told I have ibs , and that I need probiotics, and things of that nature . Well now nearing the 2 month mark I’m having issues again, and it’s so upsetting and really take a toll on me mentally and upsets me . I just wanna feel as close to normal , I’m fine with sacrificing food , etc , but it feels like no matter what I do it still bothers me

You did a good job of explaining c. diff....just going to add one point! With antibiotics yes they kill off the bad germs but they also kill off the good ones too. With c. diff, you were able to contract it more easily because you didn’t have the good bacteria to fight it off, that coupled with potential bad hygiene practices of the nurses (them not washing their hands before touching you, equipment not sterilized or properly, unsterilized hard surfaces, etc.). Very sorry to hear you went through that and thank you for being open to share it with us.

This is so helpful. I've had colorectal issues for the last 6 months, which require multiple surgeries. I don't have Crohn's thankfully, but since the first surgery in Feb, I've had irritable bowel symptoms. I was tested to make sure I didn't have C. diff (and I didn't) My doctors haven't confirmed that that I have an underlying gut issue, but it's useful to know that symptoms could be helped with this diet, as I've experienced very similar ups and downs. Some days I'm constipated, others I will be normal, other days I'll need to go 5 times in the day. I've had to take several times in the past few months different antibiotics, some very strong ones. Everything has changed since this surgery, and I still have some way to go with at least 2 more surgeries...Ahhh I enjoy some FODMAP foods so not sure how I'd go about it!
