I am a 32 yr old black Transman and I experienced bad hair thinning to where I had to decide whether to go bald or do a hair transplant. I did the hair transplant route and now I am the happiest that I ever thought I would feel again. My hair is a huge part of me and has been for many years. There is nothing wrong with obsessing over your hair but also know there are so many options for you to regrow all of your hair back ❤️ I have been watching you since before I even knew what a Transman was and I appreciate all of your content and growth throughout your life 🌻

❤Hey Aydain. It looks really cool shorter and with a fade it's gonna look dope. It think for us trans folks, hair is such a powerful thing and plays a big part in how we and others people see us it's hard not to get obsessed

Yes, you “tran folx” are “obsessed” with your hair because it plays a huge role in how you see yourselves and each other. You are obsessed with your bodies, constantly looking at your bodies and talking about your bodies, even to the point of glorifying self-mutilation (removing body parts).

Was on T from 2013-2021. I stopped because of balding. I look exactly the same thick beard, hair grew back in and no fat redistribution etc and I have my hair back. I also got a hair transplant to fill in what didn’t come back fully.

Just a few things. Love the new haircut! Also you look amazing with a buzzed or shaved head. It looked great. Finally as a cis male I’ve had these same thoughts and feelings and even fully expected hair loss but was never fully prepared for it. I buzz my hair now and experimented growing it out but I had very similar hair to yours with just a more pronounced bald spot in the back rather than receding hairline. Love your videos and keep it up buddy. You look great no matter what you do

Your hair journey resonates with me. As a trans person my hair can be really affirming like when I cut it short for the first time however it also causes dysphoria. At first my receding hairline caused me to panic a little, then as time went on I found some positives in having a more masculine hairline. I feel like for me I either love my hair or hate my hair and there is no in between. I used to wear hats ALL the time and saw them as almost like a baby blanket that provided comfort. I love how when wearing a hat I don’t have to think about my hair as much. However as I am 32 now, wearing hats all the time isn’t always appropriate. I also buzzed my hair around the later part of the pandemic and it did bring some relief but I also hated it. It’s a journey for sure and I feel like I am always going to be a little self conscious of my hair and I try to remember we are always more critical on ourselves, but trying new styles I think is great to find what feels best for you and helps give ourselves some control and confidence. I think all your styles have looked great and thanks for sharing about your hair journey!

It's funny that this video was recommended to me. I'm a trans man but only 8 months on T, so not too much changes. My hair is still pretty lush but lately I've been wanting to cut it all off. I guess I should enjoy it while I have it, but on the other hand being bald is so masculine and honestly an attractive look. Dysphoria makes you do weird things I think. The body does what it does, too. It's hard to let go of control over things you cannot change. Life is a journey for sure.

I'm an old 41 & 8.5 years on T. I tried for a long time to not have to shave my head by doing the fade pretty high. I finally decided to just shave it 2 years ago. I got an electric shaver (Remington) online and shave it every other day. I wear hats most of the time but it's more for eye sensitivity. I'm glad I did cause I don't have to 1. Constantly worry about it and 2. Pay to have a barber try to make it look decent. It's done. I moved on and don't think about it much. Just remember to put on sunscreen. 😉

Very relatable! I’m almost 8 years on T and my hair has thinned significantly since I was younger. It’s hard not to fixate on it. Now I just shave my head partially to mitigate my focus on it and partially for the ease.

Hi Aydain.. if it's affecting you so much.. why don't you go the medical route? Hair implants. There is another Trans man, Jaimie Wilson who had that done with great success. I'm a 1986 baby and as a lesbian lady im also having problems with hair thinning out.. it's such a mental struggle. Hope this helps. Hi all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦

You'll always be cool, Aydian! I'm a year older than you, and it's definitely odd being so close to 40, but it's a great feeling not having the self consciousness of our 20s anymore! I'm with you on the younger generation having great energy. They've also brought millennial fashion back, so they obviously know what's up! Lol.

I love the age comparisons. 😅👍 I'm 47, and watching TikTok just makes me feel like the world passed me by like a decade ago lol I sit and watch, but sometimes I'm completely baffled and confused. I know how my parents felt now when the first Atari game console came out 🫣👀 I just jumped into social media a few years ago, I finally decided to see what I was missing. I used to just watch RU-vid, but jumping into TikTok and Instagram really is fun (even if no one sees my posts because I'm not trying to be the next latest and greatest)! My friends tease me that my hair is thinning (I'm trans nonbinary/queer), and I tell them that I "earned!" my thinning hair and I'm proud of that and that it's going gray! Now the only reason I wear a hat is so that I don't sunburn my scalp 🤔 I have gone full Brittney a few times before though too, I have a weird shaped head haha

I am a 27 yr old transman. I've been on T for about 9 years started noticing my hair thinning about 5 years ago. The thinning was gradual for a while but recently its speeding up leaving me with a worse hairline than my dad and grandfather lol. I know eventually I will shave it all off but for right now I am having a tough time letting it go. Cutting my hair short was one of the first gender affirming measures I took so it holds a lot of self worth but I know at the end of the day its just hair. Just know you're not alone in this Aydian!

Trans guy here who is also slowly losing my hair which was always one of my favorite parts of me. It's heartbreaking and stressful for sure. I've had thoughts like wondering if people will stop talking to me once I've fully lost it. I even stopped testosterone for a few months last year because it was freaking me out so bad, but it turns out, T is worth more to me than my hair. I'm taking medicine but it's just delaying the inevitable. My hope is that when the time comes, it will just be a relief. I know it doesn't matter what I say, but FWIW, you look great as a bald guy!

I am a transguy taking testosterone since the year 2016. My hair gets thinner since 2019. I always wear a pompadour like Elvis because I love Rockabilly. So last year I went to turkey for hair transplantation. I am now 6 months post Hair transplantation and I am very Happy. I would do it again

Thanks for sharing. I am just over 5 years on "T". My hair started thinning about 2 years ago. At first I thought it was my imagination, I was just paranoid. But no, my doctor noticed it was thinning also. Mostly frontal. I decided to go on Finasteride to slow the process. It's only been maybe 7 months on this drug, so I guess time will tell. At this point, I really don't want to lose my hair. I'll decide later on if I continue on this or not. So far, no real side effects. I also don't have much of a beard. If it ever grows in a bit thicker, I might be less inclined to worry about hair loss, but right now, it's not very balanced.

Shaved my head (again) too! We old AF! I am almost 43 (been on T for 7? Years) Shoot, i can’t keep track! It’s funny how we can remember being that age and looking differently at older folx….now, we are those “older folx” 🤣

Have you considered taking anything for hair loss? I’ve been taking the Hims brand vitamins for like four months now, they say it takes 6+ months to notice anything but I feel like it’s helped the thinning slightly. I didn’t mind the receding hairline too much, but the thinning on the top really got to me also. It does help when you start noticing that the majority of men deal with it though!

I think hair loss is so difficult for trans men because we kinda ‘chose’ it by going on t, even though it isn’t really a choice. Luckily its not something i’m worried about, as my dad is nearly 60 and has a full head of hair

Hey, this is weird btw 😮 cuz the last two videos before this one now, I found myself screaming at my TV like "WHY DON'T YOU SHAVE IT ALL OFF or CUT IT LOW??" lol 😅😅 and here you are doing the exact same thing, oh I'm so good.... anyway, aha 😅😅 so I would recommend ordering some rosemary oil off tiktok shop this will grow out your hair make hair thicker silkier and stop hair thinning also rosemary oil is good for beard & skin health. You're welcome 😊

Move to Massachusetts! Super safe and queer. We’re basically socialists. Universal healthcare, state IDs give a non-binary option for sex (M, F, or X) and abortion will always be legal.
