I don’t understand why the stylist would say you are going to go bald. I am currently going through a very similar experience with bleach damage . I mostly blame myself because I was intent on having way too many highlights put in my hair too often to disguise grey hairs ( even though my stylist puts color on the roots as well in between foils ) . The past few months I have noticed hair breakage on the blonde streaks but in the past month it has reached a whole different level of bad! 😞 What I am going to do now is just simply not have my stylist use bleach anymore. To disguise my gray I am going to have her use just color and get rid of blonde and go back to brunette. Have to say I am not happy about going back to brown because I loved the blonde streaks but it is simply not worth the damage to my hair. It has gotten so bad I just rather in time have strong healthy brown hair than broken fried blonde hair ! I remember during the pandemic when I couldn’t go to the salon and I was touching up my roots to cover the grey with just Goldwell salon dye, my hair has never looked healthier. Bleach is just so damaging ! Hope all improves with your hair and I look forward to seeing how you progress.

Same. I’m growing out blonde highlights which turned orange in the end. My ends are so brittle! Going back brunette and just doing touch ups in between.

My husband suffered your type of Alopecia due the stress of being the main caregiver to his dying father who suffered dementia near his end of life. He lost about a thumbprint sized spot of hair just off the front of the top right side of his head. When that bald spot grew back in, it grew back in completely white/silver.
@heidiguttenberg
@heidiguttenberg Год назад
I’m so sorry your husband went through such a challenging and stressful time. Same happened to my brother in his beard! He is a Doctor and it was triggered during the Pandemic. The one time he experienced this it grew back silver. But I’ve experienced this many, many times since I was 6 and still it has always grown in the same hair color. But, you never know!
@NativeNYerChicHK

@@heidiguttenberg I love that you’re bring awareness to your audience like this, Alopecia is important to understand. Because when you experience it for the first time, it can be scary, isolating and embarrassing if you’re unfamiliar with what Alopecia is and the many reasons it can develop. Knowledge is POWER! Honestly, I don’t think most of those treatments are worth it. The result is minimal if any at all. The existing hair outside was burnt, it didn’t affect the inside/follicle so it should grow back normally. The best remedy is let it grow out and never bleach it again. I know it’s really difficult because you love your blonde hair. I did too.. had been bleaching it since I was 9 years old. 3-4 years ago I decided to stop and let it all grow out and now I have the healthiest long hair that is down to my waist and still growing longer. It’s a trade off for most people.. either blonde damaged hair or non bleached healthy hair.. unless you’re one of the lucky ones that have healthy hair that reacts well to the bleach!
@heidiguttenberg
@heidiguttenberg Год назад
I’ve seen this work on close relatives with my own eyes, so that’s why I’m giving it a go. And as I explained in the video, there are additional medical reasons for me. How did you manage colorwise to grow out your hair? Did you dye the bleached area to match?
@SandiHartke
@SandiHartke Год назад
@@heidiguttenberg Gotcha, well I hope it works for you too! 😎 So I had blue hair at the time I decided to grow it out so while it was in that awkward growing out stage where it looks like really bad roots and not something intentional, it didn’t look all that bad. Once the blue washed out a lot.. which was awhile cuz blue stays in foreverrrrrr it just looked like I had some blonde in the mids/ends. I have light red/brown so it blended decently. I never put color or bleach on it again and let it grow out. So the ends of my hair are a little lighter now but it’s almost all my natural color now. However I do have 2 almost white money pieces in the front. I thought they would look so ugly growing out but they were just fine and actually helped me. They are straggly damaged and fried and it’s been a wonderful reminder of why I shouldn’t bleach my hair ever again lol!! So I think your best bet is just dealing with the grow out process or maybe in a few months you can soften the harsh root line with a color that will blend the 2 colors together. Kind of like a root smudge but not at the root. (Cosmetologist here) 😃
@heidiguttenberg
@heidiguttenberg Год назад
@@SandiHartke thanks for the tips! It’s one of the paths I’m considering ♥️
@SandiHartke
@SandiHartke Год назад
@@heidiguttenberg I surprised at how easy the growing our process was. I kept waiting for my hair to get to an awkward looking stage and it never did. My hair also grew SO incredibly fast. Since I was bleaching it basically the second it came out of my head for so many years, I never knew my hair was capable of growing so fast. Whatever you do is going to be quicker and not as bad as you’re imagining. Before you know it you’ll have healthy hair again! 😁

I hope your hair health bounces back soon! I have also heard that raw coconut water first thing in the morning a few times a week could also be very beneficial for skin and hair! I am so sorry you had to go through this!! What a horrific experience! Were you considering going darker after your hair heals? Your natural color is so dark. and would suit you so well I feel and much less maintenance and could be a healthier option. Highlift blonde color can be also very damaging, it requires high percentage of developer, plus almost always pulls a ton of brass on a dark base as yours, because doesn’t have the same lightning power as bleach. I would get some semi permanent lowlights to transition to a more “bronde” in a future 😍

Also you can (gladly) see already how much growth you've had by the demarkation line. I think the challenge is coping with less volume/ density at the ends of your hair than your used to.
