Thank you for this! I truly appreciate hearing your story. I was diagnosed 5 months ago and it has been a roller coaster... also have a 1 year old... that's how I started to think it wasnt just post partum. This really is helpful and grounding to hear. So thank you! I appreciate you. I work in foster care and adoption and my job is always stressful... so this on top of it makes it hard.. I'm really trying to work on self care and yoga and breathing haha. Again thank you for this!

You're welcome Jeka! Thank you so much for sharing a part of your story! I am so glad you recognized that it wasn't post partum...I wish I had done that. It's so easy for me to justify and write off symptoms as "maybe this is just what it's like to be a mom." I can imagine working in foster care and adoption is so stressful, and stress can be so detrimental to health. Cheering you on as you work on self care and yoga and breathing! It's not a perfect science and developing new habits is hard...you got this! Thank you for being here and sharing! Xo, Shanna. ❤❤❤

My heart is with you Sania! It really is heartbreaking to go through - I feel you. I took things one step at a time. I focused on what I could do, rather than what I could no longer do. I focused on trying to release the pain, heartbreak, and guilt, and instead focused on thinking of things I could be grateful for and looking for joy. I changed the way I ate and lived and thought. It took some time but all of my efforts paid off. One step at a time. ❤️ Reach out anytime! I have lots of free resources on my website as well as a group coaching program or one on one coaching. Let me know if you have any questions at all!

Hi Shanna. Thank you for sharing your story with your heart. I cried with you. I can relate to all that you’re saying. I’ve been doing AIP for 6 months, but still experience symptoms almost daily. I’m working with a functional medicine doctor and he has me on several supplements. Besides having Hashimoto’s, he is treating me for reactive Epstein Barr. Just wondering, are you taking any supplements and if so can you share that? I know everyone is different but how many times a week do you experience symptoms? Thank you!

Thank you for sharing the hope you’ve found! ❤️ I heard myself TOTALLY in your journey! God has been so good and merciful to me through my Hashimoto’s journey. I’m reminded of this quote quite often, and thought of what He’s doing in your life too... “The experiences of our lives, when we let God use them, become the mysterious and perfect preparation for the work He will give us to do. “ Corrie Ten Boom

So beautiful Camrey! Thank you so much for sharing that! I love your perspective, and am totally with you! It's crazy when I think about how different I would be as a person without my experience with Hashimoto's. Not that I was a bad person at all, I wasn't. But the ways I've allowed myself to learn and grow through this process? Priceless. ❤❤❤

What are the best books and resources you have used? I have has hashimoto's for nearly 10cm years but diagnosed maybe 6 or 7. Lost 60lbs and was doing well but feel like going backwards.

My heart is with you! Have you found a good functional medical doctor? They can be instrumental when it comes to running a full thyroid lab and recommending nutrition, lifestyle, and supplemental support. Here's a good place to find one: ifm.org. As far as books and resources for Hashimoto's, my favorite is Dr. Izabella Wentz. She has a website and books. I like the information on her website/ articles about Hashimoto's. But I follow the autoimmune protocol (AIP) for nutrition and lifestyle. I have lots of free AIP articles on my website, and a 30-day AIP group coaching program. I also love Dr. Datis Kharrazian - his website is drknews.com/. Cheering you on! Remember to make sure your basics are in check: sleep, stress, and nutrition. ❤❤❤

When you said I have to stop an Love myself enough to Do what I need to do for MYSELF 🥺😭😭😭WOW !!! Just no words !... THANK YOU 🙏 Sounds dramatic but you just mite of saved my life.... Thank you 🙏. You're so welcome Daisy! I can't tell you how much it means to me that you opened up and shared what you did. I am having a tough week for a number of personal issues...one of those weeks when everything just feels like too much. I felt like throwing in the towel on this RU-vid video this week, but I felt like the Lord whispered for me to get it done and get it published....the Lord is so mindful of you and loves you so very much. I am so grateful that I simply get to be an instrument in His hands. I know what a nightmare this whole Hashimoto's/autoimmune disease thing is. I know. And it sucks. I wish you weren't going through this - I wouldn't wish it on anyone. And I understand the shame and guilt. But you and I? We have nothing to be ashamed of. We are such fierce Hashimoto's warriors, and so brave as we keep waking up each morning and putting one foot in front of the other. I started sharing my story because of how broken I felt for so long...I told my husband others must feel that way too, and if I can just reach one person who needs to hear my story, it will all be worth it. Life has been hard, but you reminded me why I do what I do. You matter. Your story matters. And I hope you keep sharing your story because someone out there needs to hear it, and they will read it and through it find the courage to keep going. Please never give up. It may not seem like it now, but you are setting an incredible example your kids will never forget. They just don't understand yet. BIG hugs and lots of love! Reach out anytime. Xo, Shanna. ❤❤❤

I struggle with exercise too. I'm worried if I walk too far that I won't make it back because I'd be too tired. So I do house work. Vacuuming is a great workout and so is mowing the lawn. Like you I have my limits, but you're right, any kind of movement is important. ❤🌅🌵
