Black Clover is pure shonen junk food and that is why it is amazing. Not a lot of substance but it’s tasty and easy to snack on. MHA is less pure shonen hype and more about emotional storytelling. MHA’s biggest advantage is that its world building and characters are more detailed and complex than Black Clover. My main comparison is how Bakugo is written vs how Yuno is written. Bakugo has more nuance with his interactions with Deku, than Yuno does with Asta. Every conversation between Asta and Yuno is basically just “Hehehe, long time no see” and “Nah, I’m gonna be Wizard King,” just pretty stale stuff.
Asta and yuno have one of tbe best rivalries in shonen, top 5 for sure. deku and bakugo's rivalry is on the low end of the scale. bakugo's just a phenomenon character thats all there is to it. its a toxic rivalry that they only began to TRY and salvage in the later seasons.

@@DivineXDiamond what ? season 4 only had one scene that was impactful for bakugou, that was during his license exam. the main event that explored their relationship was season 3, after all might died. We get an understanding as to why bakugou feels the way he does. Their rivalry is great with how much both character mean to each others character, without izuku there'd be no bakugou, without bakugou there'd be no izuku. plus their contrasting ideals as a hero, adds to their character. bakugou is a hero who wins to win, izuku is one who wins to protect. This is constantly shown even before season 3, and bakugou goes through a whole arc in season 5 to win to protect. and then season 6, he saved izuku without thinking. There's a whole lot more to this rivalry, so it's definitely in the higher end of rivalries in shonen.
Definitely. Even though MHA has a big cast as well, MHA does not know how to handle all the characters. Black Clover does, and even manages to develop characters that are not Black Bulls just as well as the Black Bulls.
Black Clover whoooooo! Okay so you brought up Black Clover's at times sucky animation but if you haven't seen the movie yet I am obligated to recommend it, they had time and budget it was made after the end of the anime but takes place a little before the end. So similar to My Hero movies its a side story with some nice foreshadowing. Its a good movie. Deku seems like a chosen one to me Asta isn't the chosen one, but he keeps getting back up when he loses and he keeps training because his goal is set so high Yuno, despite being the chosen one, is rivals with Asta because his drive is so great it gives hope to the entire timeline. Asta turns side characters into main characters. He leads by example, not giving up and getting results so that even the weak will think "I could do something if I tried, so I must try!" Asta my favourite MC (I want to see him in armour in the manga again c'mon why do we get stuck with partial armour he needs the full suit! Hoping we get season 5 and as a seasonal release not as 50+ new episodes)
if we're talking about the anime especially emotional fights most because of the villains then u might be right but if we're talking about where we caught up in the Manga then you're wrong, I'm not saying black clover has better fights than mha but I'm also saying mha doesn't have better fights than black clover and if u still disagree then explain to me how black clover doesn't have better fights than mha
@DevilHeartZenon-7 well I am not talking only about emotions, but about animation too. Black Clover have some good fights which are higher then mid for sure, like: Licht vs Julius, Licht vs Asta and Yuno, Yuno vs Rill, Captains vs Captain, Asta vs Liebe and probably Yami and Asta vs Dante ( some of them still have problems with composition and drawing objects around, but general, it's a good fights ). While MHA have: All Might vs USJ Nomu, All Might vs AFO, Deku vs Todoroki, Deku vs Bakugo, Endeavor vs Hood, Deku vs Overhaul, Todoroki vs Bakugo, Shigaraki vs Stars and Strips, Mirko vs High Ends, Dabi vs Todoroki ( and I still not mentioned a lot other fights ). One of the biggest BC problem in fights and in animation in general is poor depiction of characters and environments, or the use of very weak 3D (even in good battles this is noticeable, for example in Julius vs Licht and Dante vs Yami and Asta ), but of course it's not the worst, just remember how bad was with first season of BC, as a good example of all what I saying is Asta vs Lados, it's just a good example of all BC problems in fights ( first 70 episodes are just really weak, but then animation get better in general ). But if talking about fights in manga, well, Horikoshi style is just peak, every fight he draw is a masterpiece of detailing and impact. BC manga is not bad too, probably 7-8/10, but MHA manga is truly 9.5/10

@DevilHeartZenon-7 you wanna say that mha have not enough emotional fights? As I think mha have a lot of them, examples like Overhaul vs Deku or Endeavor vs Hood are already prove that ( as well as most of mha fights are pretty emotional ). "Visual stunning" is actually including things like animation, drawing style, detailing, color grade, working with shades and shadows and so on ( all of that is important. And I actually mentioned all BC fights which are high then mid for sure ). If talking about manga, BC and MHA both get much better from the beginning, if we will take Black Clover last arc, then it's drawn really good, it could be 8-8.5/10 ( as for me, I like BC backgrounds in manga and the way of drawing faces, composition overall is good. As for me BC have better drawing style then JJK, Seven Deadly Sins, Fairy Tail, Hunter X Hunter, especially nowadays One Peace manga some other shonen manga. I also like design of Zagred and Lucius, my favorite in whole BC manga ). But MHA is 9.5/10 for sure, detailing is perfect, impact of every move and effect done perfect, characters emotions are feel really deep in heart, body horror moments are also add interesting atmosphere to the story ( especially it feels about Dabi, Shigaraki and AFO. As a good example, take a look at last Deku vs Shigaraki battle, Shigaraki battle against heroes, AFO abilities, Shigaraki's past and AFO appearing in ch 418-419 where he looks like a truly demon lord who came from the deepest levels of Hell, it's a good examples of what I mean for body horror moments, and interesting choices in visual aesthetics ). I am not saying that BC manga style is bad, it's really good, but mha style is just something new and pretty impressive, while BC style looks more traditional ( maybe Gachiakuuta manga will have something similar to MHA manga in future )
@@BrightBeamBang let's set aside the word visual, I'm talking about how the fight goes the pacing in the manga, take a look at black bulls vs damnatio the team effort and giving their all without asta's help even tho they weren't winning until asta's arrive at the end and killed damnatio and before asta's about to arrive at the battle nero did the Nami crying calling for luffy soo The impact and emotional is there and take a look at yuno finral and langris teaming up against zenon the two brothers did the combo move fast cause of finral and overpowered cause of langris even tho that was smart of finral it was still useless against zenon and then take a look at yuno vs zenon that whole fight going on is just a masterpiece, now about the visual anime black clover movie fights visually stunning fights Black bulls vs damnatio>any fights in anime Manga and I'm not exaggerating it's that good
Great video! For me I primarily prefer Black Clover over MHA because I really love the characters. One of my favorite casts in shonen and heavily underrated.
I hope you continue this cause there's alot in bc manga that might change your opinions on fights, side characters, animation and villains Since the two series isn't finished yet and when it does I would still like to know your opinions on it a complete review lol I hope u see this comment
I don’t know about you, but as a girl, I feel like having a love interest is so unimportant to the greater story 😭 I honestly prefer Uraraka for the simple reason that she learns to separate her identity from Deku while still admiring him. I don’t know how that compares to Black Clover (since I never watched), so let me know how that series handles the love interest :)

People talking about BC having better characterization is pure insanity tbh. BC is basically the new Dragon Balls where the MC only needs to think about friendship and they power up continuously. Side characters don't have any significant development both in terms of power and characteristics because most of the arcs revolve around Asta and Yuno? Just buff the hell outta Asta and make him give others his power so that all of a sudden everyone can participate in the last battle. Literally they all act around Asta, which is the opposite of good character development.
@@hoangquanle3310you can't deny the fact that even Noelle or Yami has more character dev than Asta. All Black Bull members have backstories is cool, but they are only mentioned once for their one shining moment, and they no longer have much relevance in later parts of the story unless Asta is involved. Meanwhile, MHA has big separate story arcs for some popular characters, and even smaller plotlines for even the less popular ones, which don't always revolve around Deku. That makes the world feels more alive and believable and they feel like main characters in each of their stories. Asta and Yuno is one of the most boring main duo in shounen because their dynamic basically stays the same even after all those arcs/traumas. Asta may seem to have sacrificed a lot of his body parts and trainings to achieve broken powers, but on the other hand Yuno keeps pulling upgrades out of his ass without much struggle. They are basically the same kind of power up as Dragon Ball's "shout loud af to get stronger" And even Asta's sacrifices don't mean much since he doesn't actually "lose" anything. He lost what? A normal arm to get a cooler demon arm and a devil union? 😂 And no drawbacks whatsoever. People keep dying and coming back to life 2 seconds later thanks to Mimosa 😂 At this rate no stakes might even be better than fake stakes like this. People keep bashing MHA when BC has more cliche storytelling with even less stakes than MHA.
Problem being with my hero academia is that the character aren't talk a enough the development with characters from there past and present it what makes a series a series but tho when i watch my hero academia it just seems like a show that i would watch then never watch again i mean i d like getting hyped about new seasonal but that it with asta and the black bulls is fantastic not only is it my favourite genre theme but it has beautiful character development not only do they show the main character but also side characters as well it gave them more of a better understanding of the villains as well it doesn't just always show the main which just sucks ass like fore explain ochako i wanted like minie series on her but we never got one which is just a shame thats why never became as attach full as others if they gave them story
