Holy shizz, I couldn't even let my cat sit in the window, for the fear of having it stolen, let alone having my HIFI on show like this, hahaha. That's one hell of a beautiful set-up Michael.

Hallo Michael, was für ein geiles Setup. Ingenieurskunst par excellence. Atemberaubend!

Pure Bliss, Michael, first time i am seeing individual amps for each channel, bet its beyond heaven for you when u play all ur high quality gems, ....before i go 6' under, my wish is to visit Germany and listen to "Private Investigations" at your listening room, fly back to LA and sit on Michael Fremer's chair and listen to the 100 Analog LPs and then fly back to Seattle and crash on Mazzy's couch with a Martini and listen to his Beatles collection and his wonderful stories!

Very nice components. I'm sure they sound as amazing as they look. I have to agree with what Volker said about the Rega turntable. I have the Rega P-25 turntable for about 17 years now. This year I changed the stock plastic sub-platter to a machined stainless steel sub-platter and the stock plastic single pulley to a machined stainless steel double pulley as well as the stock glass platter to a Delrin platter. The sound became much more musical. The speed before I made these changes wasn't stable. It was also running fast between 33.6 to 33.8 rpm. After, the changes I made it was stable and ran a consistent 33.3 rpm. Like Volker said, Rega has to manufacture some of their turntables to a certain price to keep the quality. I'm glad I could make these upgrades as it improved the sound of my table to many levels without having to spend much more on another table. I can happily be content and live with it for a long time maybe another 17 years until I purchase another table in the distant future. Hopefully, for the last time. Perhaps an Einstein! Thanks for the video!

What an incredible setup, as a mechanical engineer I'm drooling over those incredible components thinking how good my Albums would sound, but in that harsh space? Sitting on the couch in my large carpeted living room with my wife's bookshelves and soft furnishings in our cottage on the west coast of Scotland, with no neighbours to disturb, I don't know if I'd swap my Quads and my Roksan and my Sumiko.............................. Well O.K it's a deal but you have to take the wife aswell.👍😉

Absolutely gorgeous system. It's very rare when form and function actually meet. Also nice too see a completely analog system, not a Dac or cd player or streamer to be seen. Very refreshing! I made a decision that I wanted to listen to vinyl, cds and stream on my system. However listening to records is my passion!

Beautiful! I love your room. It’s a livable space while also being a HIFI listening space. So many rooms that I see are dedicated too much to just the HIFI system they don’t seem livable. It’s like they have to separate themselves from their family and daily life to hear a record. You’re room seems so much more comfortable and inviting. I also love the wood console that your components are displayed on. Once again, so many other rooms have their components separated on different metal chassis which I think looks ugly and uninviting. Yours looks warm and inviting. Thanks for showing

I am glad you have 'made it' in 25 years of working on your system. Certain brands do have a sound signature, I have heard it myself. The philosophy I entertained was to blend these signatures over 40 years to make a sound in my listening environment that I could not only live with but also enjoy & get excited about every time I played a recording.

Michael, I looked at the records behind you, I watched the way you presented yourself and how you described not just records, but 45 rpm records in general and I knew that you were going to have a killer system. You are right that a lot of these hi end brands have a house sound, Audio Research (which I have and love), McIntosh, Naim, Rega among many others. I too have been on a journey and I’m about to make a speaker change. I’m looking at smaller this time like the Bowers and Wilkins 705s2 or 805d3 or above with two Rel, possibly Carbon series subs. Your system is next level and I’m happy that you achieved your goal. Why, well I have some Older Vandersteen Quatros and the sub amp on one blew out. It was a good thing that I was home because it sounded like multiple fire crackers and then the smoke and a burned electronics smell. Well I contacted my dealer and he had me bring in just the sub amps and he said due to age it’s just better to replace them both at the same time. The mid range drivers were replaced before my ownership. I had some older Bowers and Wilkins Cm5 lying around from my bedroom system and my dealer allowed me to borrow a Rel 5ti subwoofer and I have actually been quite impressed. I have heard the B&W 705 and 805 and the tweeters in both are amazing. It is also amazing having heard higher end subs from Rel how much more information that their subs allow the midrange and treble to produce. I’m also considering a pair of Kef R11 as well, but you are right Michael this is a journey and your system is breathtaking. If possible can you play something through it at your leisure of course that won’t get you RU-vid strikes. Thank you for expressing your journey and thank you for bringing us along. You look to have a nice audio dealer as well, but more importantly it is imperative to find out what type of sound that you like, not what the dealer likes.

I just bought a Planar 1. I therefore enjoyed the beginning of the interview because it explains the compromises between sound quality and price that all turntable manufacturers must deal with, but is also explains succinctly why the aluminium subplatter and glass platter are upgrades over the phenolic resin on the P1. As someone who knows little of industrial processes I had never thought about the difference in precision between mere moulding, and machining; and the difference in price between the two processes as well. This makes it clear to a layperson why glass and aluminium are an upgrade to the P1, and in such a way that the actual manufacturer might be reluctant to explain so quickly (because it involves explaining the shortcomings of the moulded parts on the P1 and P2).

This was a VERY well made video! I really like Einstein as well. I listened to a very similar system at last year's High End and thought that it was one of the best sounds at the show. In general, I do prefer manufacturers that follow the "system approach". One does get much better results if the amp and speakers are ment to work together. The same goes for all upstream components and cables. I own a (almost-) full Audio Note UK system. All components exept my digital source are by them. I would love to do a comparison one day of how the sound of Einstein and Audio Note compare when listening to the full system of each. Maybe we could do that some day (I am based in Germany as well). Great channel overall. Just subscribed. Keep on going!

Hi Michael. I really enjoyed this one, as i'm also an Audiophile on a on-going journey for +35 years or so now. I will reply with a much longer answer tomorrow, as i do not have the time at the moment. All these info's told, makes me wanna put a word or two by, so i will continue my comment later. Love He's approach to Rega decks, and he's right about everything he says, regarding to build turntables. Iv'e read a lot of building TT's, and also read the big Rega book, that came out a couple of years ago, where the technic side of building turntables is very good explain. I can recommend every one interesting in Audio, to get a copy of that. Cheers

@thomasandersen1784
@thomasandersen1784 3 года назад
The approach for the Einstein TT, is quite the same as Rega's philosophy, when i hear him talk about the choices and compromises that goes into building such a fine machinery. The brasses he was showing, was taking up by Rega a couple of years ago, and you can now see them in the Planar 3 and upwards the line. It stiffens the plint, and keep the armboard in place and also the sub platter.. very very clever..!! I'm all for this HI-FI tour Michael....Love it and what a great set-up you have there. I have similar kind of set-up, where my amps and speakers are from the same company, like all my cables (speaker, interconnect, upgraded power chords). It's from the french company: Lavardin! Talk about musicality. My Turntable is Rega P8, with their Apheta II cart (hand build MC). Phono stage is the Lehmann Black Cube SE II ref. Phono Stage. CD Player is Linn Ikemi HDCD. Cables: Chord/Shawline - Audioquest NRG-Z - VOX power chord - Gigawatt PF-2 Power Filter.

@Tunz909
@Tunz909 2 года назад
Yes, that's because they learn English proper/in school...we Americans just imitate sounds we hear , many Americans do not know anything about good grammar. Too much slang here that I find repulsive...for instance everyone is now saying "oh sorry, my bad" instead of "oh sorry my mistake , or my fault".....oh well....

I am English and live in Austria and am continually amazed at how high the quality of spoken English is amongst Austrians here, much better than many English speak these days in my experience. Often an Austrian will apologise for their English and I assure them that it is in fact much better than many people I know who live in England! What amazes me most are the folks from trades or blue collar workers, their English is excellent. If you go to England and ask a postal worker or carpenter if they can speak another language 98% will say no and the reply is in a terrible English with poor grammar! My pet peeve with people from around London and the south East of England, “Fink” instead of “Think” and so on! It’s pure laziness and slipping education standards. I look at what my friends children here have in terms of school work and it far exceeds in quality and depth what is now taught in England. Mind, I lived in Canada as well and that’s even lower standards and I’m sorry to say from what I can see from my American friends kids the same there especially in terms of a worldly education, the world outside the US.

I went from a 60's Philips suitcase pick up in my teens to a Technics SL1210MK2 with Arcam Alpha 8r amp and Chario + monitor audio speakers now I'm almost 39. Tried a lot of brands and equipment, but this is the setup I'll stick with for now. I like to keep the hobby on a certain budget. For some this would be the starting point, but for me it's as high end as I'm gonna get. At least for the time being 😅

Hello Michael I`ve only recently come across your channel & this video although long,is very very informative. To memory i don`t recall Einstein Audio but may have seen/heard them at a u.k. audio show if they`ve ever attend any here,or read about their products somewhere(magazines or online). If your system plays as good as it looks it must be like "hearing angels sing" most or everytime it`s played?! Volker Bohlmeier makes high end audio equipment(seemly)but yet,knows the TRUE value of a "lowly" Rega P3(wow),everything he says about that turntable is SPOT ON!!! I own this turntable it`s EXCELLENT with a few minor tweaks subplatter etc. & has a high quality tonearm. Thank you once again for this video hope to see more on your turntable soon,all the best from the u.k. #vinyl4ever

Beautiful system and I like the clean design asthenic/look of the components. I’m a believer in a synergistic approach, rather than a mix of components that is always difficult to match. I’ve never heard or seen any components from Einstein hear in Australian and as a retired man will probably never be able to afford a system like yours, but would love to hear it one day. I am very, very happy with what I have - which is a mix of DIY, re-engineered and modded quality components designed by the same audio engineer from Custom Analogue Audio. I too have a long relationship with the creator of my system whom has being providing me with equipment or rather instruments that make music for many decades now. So I can just listen to it, the music that is. Thanks for the video.

Wow Mein Herr! ... that has to be one of the nicest (and nicest looking) systems I've ever seen... congrats! On my page, you can see my much more humble McIntosh based system. I don't have a nice window behind mine, so I placed a mirror that works great!

Another beautiful episode Michael I completely understand you definitely want to get the most out of your record Volker touched on major importance of hearing music . If I had the finances I definitely would take the leap there is a lot of quality in his equipment it would take me years to achieve I learned a lot thanks for sharing Michael . Einstein was a great choice . Lovellandrew

Excellent video again. I love hearing views on Turntables. I was shocked about the price, I have a Linn Sondek (LP12) with power supplies and with an EKOS SE tone arm. really intresting Thankyou,

Great interview. It is about the music. You anticipated every question I would of asked. Look forward to additional videos on the system. Curious about what was the system you had before this one. In the famous words of 45 RPM it was Outstanding!

Great video! Volker knows his stuff better than anyone! If now only Neumann microphones had been used in the making of this video ;-) To stick with the extremely high quality theme...
