at this point the title and thumbnail is completely irrelevant and not important to me, i just see levy's face and i click it... just because he always has very interesting games. (you could make the title three dots "..." and put levy's face in the thumbnail and i would still watch it
The english is the only opening i play but i have never seen this sidleine before. The position available at 0:37 floored me. I had to take a moment to appreciate such opportunity. So much piece play!
Feel free to not reveal the secrets, but I personally hate playing against the English. It's a good opening but I love gambits and dubious openings, has there been any openings you've played against that really stood out in that sense?
Very edgy in a sense. It was a very nice combination of tactical position play. Loved it. The comment that the king and material are the highest priority is profound and still, it's difficult to ignore all the other things which can lead to winning material (king or other).
Wow, you played Rfe1 and gave up b3 to win the bishop and hence protected the f3 square to prevent Queen infiltration. I had an alternate line in mind : b4 Qxe2 Rfe1 Qf3 Kxg6+ fxg6 Rxe8+ If Bf8, then Bd4+ Kg8 Qg7# because of the pin. If Rxe8 then Qxe8+ Bf8 Qxf8+ Qxf8 Bxf8 and we play up a rook and bishop. If instead of fxg6 it was hxg6 : Rxe8+ if Rxe8 then Qxe8+ Bf8 Qxf8+ Kh7... nvm we lose lol
Love Simon (AKA GingerGM)! Actually discovered him fairly recently when Levy beat him in TT, and he's immediately become my favourite chess content creator. Absolutely hilarious and creates complete havoc on the board. That said, Levy is definitely a stronger player at this moment in time.
No! Because if bishop takes rook. Night to e7 check if king goes to h8 then queen takes bishop on a1 is mate. And if after night to e7 check king goes to f8 then night c6 discover check by bishop and Queen is gone in next move.
