My (Highly Emotional) Top 10 Board Games: Video Four - Dwellings of Eldervale 

This is one of the games that I've been pretty interested in for a while, but unfortunately haven't had the opportunity to play. That being said, this video has made me even more excited for this game. A lot of board game content creators will talk about a game largely from a mechanical perspective, but they often don't inspire much excitement for a game. You gloss over the mechanics of a game just enough for people to decide if it's something they'd be interested in, but you speak about them with such merriment and talk about how awesome everything is. I love it, and I hope you end up making more than ten of these videos.

Hey you just earned a sub. I love this. I don’t think I hear enough gamers talking about the emotional connection they have with games and how that relates to the human connections they’ve made playing games.

I absolutely love this game. I have the legendary version, the screen printed resources, wood tokens, the works! Every play has been completely different. Soo much replayability and it’s just damn pretty. The game trays are so elegant and useful.

I got super lucky and found a copy locally and now it's one of my favorite games as well. It also happens to be the legendary edition and I think that's really the way this game was meant to be experienced. The great part about it is this game successfully combines the 4x style of exploration and combat with the worker placement and tableau building of a euro. It does them both so well that fans of both genres can enjoy it equally. I think my favorite mechanic in the game is the regroup turn. In most worker placement games, when you recall workers it is kind of a reset turn and you just grab them all and prepare for the next round. But in Dwelling of Eldervale, the regroup turn is like another worker placement phase and is in fact where you end up collecting a lot of resources and using cool abilities.

Just got this game a few days ago - played it solo and loved it. Trying to get the deluxe monsters but they are hard to find. Those Etsy lids are awesome - I can see that the cardboard covers of the factions would start to peel in no time so I’m off to Etsy to order those - thanks!

9:20 So to progress in this game, you must give your guys little hats? That's both highly efficient & so delightful. 12:50 I was just thinking "so you can defeat the monster for glory or for resources, but can't you just make the monster your friend?" Well that sort of answers that!

Ohhhh! Games ur emotionally attached to. I thought the title was about games that get you emotionally affected(ups, downs rollercoaster), emotionally invested etc. Because if THAT was the case, DIPLOMACY should be number1! It is for me anyway. Risk Legacy was probably the most memorable gaming experience I've ever had. And Risk isn't even that awesome of a game, but Risk Legacy is just SO good! Better than Pandemic Legacy
