He his a horrible person i hate it when people make excuses and say it’s ok that it’s not his fault and didn’t know although it was her responsibility to use protection as well
Hi there, I just came across your video on RU-vid. Your videos are awesome! I tested for the first time a few years ago after being afraid to since I had a relationship with a woman who was in the high risk category. I tested negative and realized after that it isn't a big deal to test and certainly not a dangerous disease like it was many years ago. In fact, I learned later that a coworker of mine has HIV and he was really open about it and I really learned a lot! People like you are bringing GOOD into this world. Keep it up. Keep sharing and being there for those around you and know that there are so many people out there who are there for you. Can't wait to see your next update. Happy new year!
+Jessie Chiang Thank you Jessie! I saw your other message as well, you are so sweet! (Can't remember if I replied 😁). The support has been incredibly amazing. ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing your story. I really appreciate it. I am a nurse, I won't treat my HIV patients with different ways. I will be the same to all of my patients. But I will be more caring for my HIV patients because it's a daunting disease. You look absolutely happy and healthy. Take care.
So good to hear. HIV patients on their meds ARE healthy. If a doctor tested me for HIV and didn't know I had it, I would test negative. It's not detected in my blood anymore, but of course, it is laying suppressed and dormant in my lymph cells. Those are the tricky buggers that they will hopefully be able to wake up and kill soon with new medication. That's the cure we are waiting for. So glad you saw my video! :)
I took my HIV test last week, I get my results next week. I am definitely not high-risk or anything. Only have ever been with 1 person, and he's only been with me. Don't do drugs. The reason I tested is fairly silly, I flushed a public toilet that had menstrual blood in it and it splashed back at me. Better safe than sorry, I guess? Anyway, I want to make testing a habit, something I do every once in a while. Not because I believe I have something, but just because knowing my anxiety I'd freak out about something so miniscule that I'd rather just get tested to put my fears to rest. Thanks for sharing your story! It's important for people to be more comfortable with this subject, so we can better care for ourselves in case anything happens.
@Amy Mavis hey! Went well! I tested negative thankfully. I was told that HIV doesn't live very long outside the body, so if the blood has been outside the body for a minutes, the virus is inactive and no longer able to infect. So your risk is practically nonexistent. Get tested after a month just to ease any anxiety. Also I think a good habit to have is regular testing once every year or two, just in case. As it can years for symptoms to develop after infection. But since it's just menstrual blood on a toilet seat, I think you're ok!
Thanks for your bravery and courage in telling your story. I am a medical professional. I do work with persons living with HIV though this population makes up a very small percentage of my practice and I treat from a psychiatric perspective. I recall that you mentioned in a previous video that you progressed from initial infection to full blown AIDS within 2 1/2 years. The average range being closer to 7 to 10 years. Were you ever designated as a rapid progressor? This state is rare as is the long term non-progressor. I know of only one person who progressed to AIDS within 3 years of initial infection. HIV/AIDS has impacted my personal as well as professional life as I have lost relatives and friends to this disease. I applaud your willingness to share your story. You are a beckon of hope.
I tested negative in 2011, I definitely contracted it in 2013 and he definitely contracted it in 2012 according to who he got it from (sharing needles). I’m aware of the more common timeframe, but it’s not totally uncommon for it to progress sooner, it definitely happens. Thanks for the post and support. ❤️🌷
you are amazing you actually look happy living with AIDS I don't think I could cope thank God I haven't got that and I'll be making sure I don't get that
How did you get the courage to talk about it so soon to the public after you found out you have HIV/AIDS? I feel like most people would go through years of emotional problems before they could do this
I didn't have any high risk factors, it was his past behavior that put him in the high risk category. There are enough people that probably can deduce who "he" is, so I chose to keep his past disclosed.
If he had high risk behaviors and he was sick, he should of known that HIV was probably the cause. Having unprotected sex with someone who had high risk behaviors in the past is high risk, in my opinion. I have heard that some individuals that have HIV are going out spreading just to be spiteful and reckless. Some people in the world just don't care about others. I was unmarried for years and I had unprotected sex. I am grateful to be married now. I am surprised I didn't get HIV. I believe there needs to be mandatory universal HIV testing for all. HIV is killing in many countries that don't have access to antivirus drugs. What are your thoughts?
Well of course in hindsight I wish he had tested again while we were together, he did before we were together and was negative. There was no malicious intent on his part. We really thought he was in the clear. His being sick was just pure naivety on both our parts. He basically had chronic diarrhea, that didn't point to HIV to either of us. It's a life lesson, what can I say. All I can do now is be proactive for others because I wasn't for myself. It's my mission. There's a reason this happened to me. I agree, there needs to be mandatory testing as you say many don't have access to medication and people are still dying of AIDS.
Jennifer Vaughan there was no malicious intent ? 😦how is that possible if u having high risk behaviors please stop making excuses as if it was both responsibility but still seems u defending his actions not right . People like this should know better to test and in ur other videos u said he never got tested he said he did and u trusted him and now u saying he did got tested I don’t think he ever got tested before being with u and if he did he was already most likely positive unless he was in high sexually risk behaviors still being with u
hey jennifer question? what u you say if my last exposure was Feb of 2014 and had all or almost all the same symptoms as you talked about 2 weeks later starting close to 4 years ago with white tongue that won't go away. notice bursing on thighs. had teeth chattering chills. muscle and joint stiffness. ect. but continue to test negative on the Elisa screening test each year for four years? what should be my next move I would rather not have a late diagnose. do I need to make my doctors do more elaborate hiv testing ? cd4 testing? viral load testing? If u could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it thanks
You're negative. That test is looking for antibodies and it's sensitive. You are without a doubt negative. From POZ.com..."No diagnostic test will ever be 100 percent reliable, but if you test negative at the appropriate time (i.e., 3 weeks after possible exposure to the virus with the newer HIV tests or 13 weeks after possible exposure to the virus with the older HIV tests), you can consider that to be a dependable confirmation that you are HIV negative."
Jennifer Vaughan.. thanks 4 responding jennifer. I'm having a super hard time accepting my final test.if it wasn't for my symptoms i had 4 years ago Nd this persistent white coated tongue every morning for 2 years non stop I'd be okay (mentally). I'm totally like beyond freaked out. sorry but just being honest 😧
To me you sound like someone with a geographic tongue! I believe this is what you might mean by the "coated tongue" you get every morning. I highly suggest you google it and also check the possible causes for it (spicy food, smoking, stress, etc.). If this is the case, which I think most likely it is (because I once happened to search for it out of anxiety which was subsided after I got tested negative for HIV), then the condition is benign and geographic tongues are NOT an indication of HIV or HIV-related complications. I can see that your comment is an old one, so I hope that you (or anybody else) still finds this information helpful!
