Well, thats a pretty working build I would say xD. The 3,5 turns of your QS is for high speed and low torque, the higher turns will get you more torque at lower rpm. Stay safe with those Lipos and dont go offroad, if you crash it probably will explode xD. Nice low budget street build 👌

2 6s batteries = 12s, 12s * 3.6V is 43.2V, 43.2V * 150 is only 6,480w. Still very powerful, but not quite 10,000w unless I'm missing something. Also, I don't think that controller can burst 350A, 350A is the max phase current which is the current between the controller and the motor. Other than those two things, I love the build.

Nice build! Question u didn’t address tho, how did you fit that motor into 135mm dropouts (which that Trek 3500 has, to my knowledge)? Seems like the 3500 also has an aluminium frame, so bending them to 150mm wide wouldn’t work.

@@jasonbrown467 Well I don't want to keep the gate. In this case I'm just concerned for the security, because building an ebike is super easy, but those Chinese stuff lacks in a lot of security features, unlike cars. Also such strong motors and heavy batteries on such a cheap bike frame is more likely just to work as a proof of concept and will break the frame after a while.

@@Scootertuner420 lol fair enough, all good points btw. also, the gentleman who made this video is claiming his bike is 10kw, yet is is only running 44v and i suspect his controller is only able to sustain 100amps, this would put his bike at 44x100=4400watts. its still really good, but its less than half of his claims, but i always like seeing people, especially young people so interested in and ambitious about things that involve hands and brains, as these are the people who contribute more to society than they likely realize. none the less we all got to start some where

A little question which came up, discussing this bike with a friend: He told me, that if the batteries run empty, the electric motor would be a big resistance and it would slow you down really fast (in an unhealthy way). I replied to him, that the computer should take care of it but i couldn't find out how it operates. Do you have any experiences regarding this problem? :D Best wishes from germany!
@AllThingsElectric_
@AllThingsElectric_ 3 года назад
Yes, the motor would provide resistance to the wheel if there was no power directed to it. Not necessarily unhealthy if the bike is powered on, since spinning the wheel would generate power back into the batteries. But yes if the bike were completely dead it would slow the bike down very fast.

I'm looking to do a similar build.. Few questions though. That controller is huge. Is there anything else comparable that takes us less space? Same with the batteries. Are those lithium batteries? I'd like to fit and enclose everything into the center triangle of the frame.. Or maybe mount the controller on a rack over the rear wheel. If you could do it over, what would you do to make it better? It's a great bike though. Looks like a blast to ride. :). Thanks for the videos

they are two 22v batteries nominal
@AllThingsElectric_
@AllThingsElectric_ 2 года назад
with two 52v batteries you would have to wire them In parallel so your capacity will double, unless you mod your controller to take over 100V

Hello, I have a 3t 50h 5000w motor, it has a 72v 80A controller and runs at 85km / h with a 26 "wheel, if I put a 150A sabvoton controller, will it run faster?
@AllThingsElectric_
@AllThingsElectric_ 2 года назад
I believe that if you get the higher amperage controller, you will get more torque. Now you may get slightly more speed, but will mainly see a torque increase. Speed depends on Voltage.

So is it possible to fit one of these kits into a regular mtb dropout? What would I need to do apart from get rid of the casette? Would i have to get rid of the rear disc?
@jasonbrown467
@jasonbrown467 3 года назад
thats where i am at the moment, it seems like that moter is for a 150mm fork, but this guy's fork appears to be 135mm. maybe its fine to bend/stretch the metal a bit on the fork, it would be about 1/4 inch too small on each side unless you pry it in there i think. i noticed several washers on his moter "axel". also, i would rather use my 7 speed cassette, but there is no room and the kit does come with a single speed, which would be better than nothing assuming it all fits and works. did you get this figured out?
@E-bikeguy

No just get a 3 speed freewheel if you want some gears and you can have disk brakes in the rear but you will have to stretch the frame a bit to fit the qs205

how long can you ride with those batteries? i am building a bike to commute to work 30 miles away. ok i see you said you can ride about 50 minutes, is that 50 minutes at top speed? i plan on using the highway and trying to go 55mph or so the whole time, which i am sure it not safe lol. btw i checked out your batteries, arent those 22.2 volts nominal and 25.2v when fully charged, two in series is 50.4v, also they are 20ah, and since they are in series it would be 50.4v times 20ah = 1000wh. if your controller can pull 150 amps at max then it would be 50.4v x 150a =7500 watts. if you pull 7500 watts from a 1000wh battery, it would last 8 minutes according to my math. i am new to this, can you see any errors in my math? something tells me you almost never pull 7500 watts from that battery though. are you sure your batteries are only 6s? other wise it seems like your voltage has to be what i stated. i thought i read where that controller can work with 60-96 volts and it seems you are below that
@AllThingsElectric_
@AllThingsElectric_ 3 года назад
About 50 mile range. Yes you’re correct mostly. Two 6s batteries in series is 48v nominal. This controller can handle 72v and maybe more like you said. However the controller can peak at up to 350 amps, so under heavy acceleration I will pull much more than 5000W.
@AllThingsElectric_
@AllThingsElectric_ 3 года назад
But I get 50 mile range riding pretty conservatively. You might want a bigger battery.
