A sort of review or showcase sharing of my Bisimoto cammed D16a6 powered EG8 and the current and future plans we discuss all of it including the complete set up and actual pistons together with the target approach if we get to "re assemble" this for you guys according to your level of interest on it.
Ofcourse we do a compression test to show how it stands since its been 2 years since it was assembled without even honing, some intake manifold talk and possibilities also showcase the Hytech style exhaust header.

Planned Target for the future : D16a6 build series that includes -bearing clearance choices and why -ring gap check and approach to certain gaps -necessary steps to shoot for better Volumetric Efficiency -engine install and initial tune , details like timing and basemap to why this and why that -Test (first run) Tune stock P08 intake manifold w/ same 70mm throttle and spacer Hopefully dyno too -Test and tune a ported P08 intake manifold Dyno tune for a good comparison -final test skunk2 ported intake manifold and dyno This way we compare stock to stock ported oem intake and finally max power on the skunk2 ported intake All documented for you guys

Hey SRD. I just want to say how much I really appreciate your videos. I got my first car and its a 93 EG Coupe with a D16A6 head and D15B block. When trying to research about these motors there's a lot of misinformation and it can be really hard for me to see what I need to do for good HP gains. But watching your videos has really helped me understand how these motors work and how to gain power with them. Looking at old forums people say its cheaper to buy a B series motor than to build a D but these days they're so expensive now! Anyways, appreciate it for spreading the useful knowledge for all of us Honda guys out there. Keep it up.

Oh whoa!! Thank you man! Btw ur first car is similar to my first ever build I did, was a d15b7 but A6 cammed ftw I agree on old forums adage… like for $1k u can get a LS swap easy and as cheap but nobody said for 1k worth of proper mods ur sohc can woop a stock LS Their example is always of a stock cheap B lol but yep a proper built B is easy x3 the cost lol

That build sounds awesome. I have lots of love for the non vtec D series. This may sound like a rookie question, but does having a 1.5 block and a 1.6 head bump the compression up any? Also a fully built D series is way cooler than any LS B swap in my opinion!

@@Skronkidonk actually it bumps comp only if on vtec head mainly cuz chamber volume is smaller but a6 and b7 have same heads it’s just the stock a6 cam is a shade bigger than the b7 so that’s a bonus

hey man all good work is work keep the grind and having fun at the autbahn aint bad at all lol! thanks for that on this esi definitely id like to keep it as simple as possible and probably lone target is either Rota Grid as that was my first set of wheels? or Rota Slipstreams in white with al the evo sticker/decals as i know that color contrast would look good and alot cleaner ftw!!

The interior seems to be very well maintained. The previous gearbox was 4-speed automatic? The only thing that I would change are the alloy wheels. Would go for the standard silver/bronze color. Otherwise a very interesting and well made video. I like the idea of measuring the compression. Keep up bro. You got my like.

do we need to upgrade the injectors, adj fuel reg - when u install stage 2 camshafts, valve springs retainers, ported head?

No not really on that , perhaps an adjustable fuel regulator but even then it was mainly preference for me and for future experiments when I acquire an injector cleaner not now so just made it ready 😂

the ear/tanga of the bolt are “off” like not same alignment U can run it but u have to chop off the sides of the tang to fit it on proper timing I also had a page private message that is similar and hopefully you saw my “P2j video” that talked about why running a p08 conversion. Cam and rocker on a p2j head is wrong and a lot slower than stock and bad fuel mileage I explained “timing” there and that it isn’t just on ignition but includes injector firing time is referenced “from” the distributor So if it’s off? Ur injectors are spraying at the wrong time

Oh I bought a 1in aluminum plate and had it machined 😅 which was hard only cuz the 1in plate wasn’t really cheap + now it’s hard to source here But in the US I know 1in thick is quite easy to source

Random question po is 20 cam lube on p2j head with zc block and pm6 piston and 212 flywheel with stage 2 clutch better than 16 cam lubes on p2j head with zc block and pm6 piston and 212 flywheel much appreciated.

@@jhobailmarkdomingo4773 it’s still gonna ruin the injector timing, our p2j is a d16y5 To make it 20camlobes u should get a USDM d16y8 but then all those efforts and will still be not as fast as a straight p08 head? So I don’t get locals they try all sorts of approach when it isn’t needed and ang dami examples. Sa fb that didn’t go fast so why not just get a straight p08 dba

depends not the rest of the set up, a lot of times “racing” cams isn’t best when the rest isn’t prepped for it… delta cams regrind is a good option

I hopefully wait this build soon btw is the compression test in that engine is after break period or its a newly rebuild engine without a start ? And do a dry compression test ?

This engine has been running for 3yrs lol So it’s why I kinda wanna “repeat” the sequence and reassembly cuz the channel only existed since last year so I had no idea it would be a good content hehe

Well for me personally it was never an upgrade as the earlier video I mentioned the benefits of the vti manifold is the plenum but unequal runner length so that’s where the p08 is superior

Oh there!! Thank you! I was once looking for a Phdm esi guage so it’s 210kmh someone told me this is “nicer” forgot he said it’s an eg8. And tbh this was really an a/T car when I got it , we converted it to MT. selling point for me was the wiring was decent it’s an actual LX hence the antenna is on the A pillar… but the harness is legit uncut or atleast not as cut up? Plus it’s all power windows and folding side mirrors I’m like wow the previous owner consciously completed it!

Yes ph12 pistons and if we get to do a build series of this , I can talk about the full specs and compression I used the ph12 npr rings which is the same for ESi pm6

Oh there u go! I believe it’s an eg8 vti (my car was an auto) so that worked and the previous owner completed his conversion quite well I guess
