my buddy just sold his 1999 Honda Civic LX sedan here in the US, all original, no accidents, lola owned, 100k miles, manual windows and mirrors(no electrical probs lol) for 3K USD :( I would've gotten it if I didn't have my EG. Great vid!

This car is crazy clean man 😍, The Ek I got is an EXI and I'm the second owner of it, just needs some TLC at the moment and hey I ordered cam gears today should be here in a couple of weeks. The dyno thing I don't believe in that much because atmospheric conditions on the street compared to the dyno is like black and white, not boasting but with the experience of tuning and rebuilding engines I know what to do to get what I'm looking for. Can't wait for the build series to start, it would be nice to see the engine bay looking stock but putting out 160-170 Hp.

True on the dyno and that’s where lost get confused or view it wrong like u said it’s useful when you know you know…. Example on this series whatever numbers? What’s important is the % improved. As the numbers may differ each country but the % improved will be constant That’s a nice EXi as you are the second owner that’s good trace able history! My EG 4door? I’m the 3rd or 4th owner hahaha

Excited to see the HP difference of the rebuilt engine and specially the HP gain of tuned version! 1st time ko ata makakapanuod ng rebuild series ng sohc with dyno. We'll see the potential of a ph16a/y5 engine 😁

Oh thanks man! Sa totoo lng I agree, even a Bseries Unless it’s like Skunk2 that develops stuff and that’s what we pattern ourselves, I really hope we can in the future a Bseries But yes this one will stay stock ecu on the baserun for before and after refresh/rebuild BUT when owner gets a tunable ecu and we tune? Shempre it will be here 😂

Yes sir! And we'll see how much HP a y5 head w/ 16 camlobes can do pag natune. Puro po kasi naka 20 cams nakikita ko, maybe because of the wild cam and aftermarket support. Sayang lang na walang aftermarket cam para kay y5. Naka roller type rocker arm pa naman sana.

Very nice and well maintained family owned VTi. I like it that it's all stock except for the aftermarket wheels I also have that leather jacket and service manuals since i was lucky enough to have a first owned EG hatch bought at Honda Cars Pasig in 1996. Yes, you read it right 1996. Got it as the last unit of EG from the plant when EKs were already being sold by the casa 😊 I know you'll treat that VTi right, it is in good hands Ralph😉 Fun fact, Red Horse beer is also being exported in South Africa. The locals liked it better than more famous international brands because of it's strong kick at an affordable price. Sulit ika nga haha😂🤣😅 Red Horse Extra Strong beer 💪💪💪

No I haven’t actually but you read my mind… I know it’s a big thing that would work and in actuality it’s one of the secret developments we have at the shop that one day will be open for the public but First things first gotta dyno the intake before offering it to the public hehehe But thaaaanks man for appreciating the channel! It’s mainly for “marketing” for the shop to pull more work but definitely “why not “ Share stuff like I got good stuff from the Forum days ftw everyone deserves to experience such and hence that’s the other half of the purpose of the channel aside from marketing / advertising the shop

You and I both actually! Like we have never seen this done and I have never seen it done this way I mean regardless of initial figures example if 94-97whp that’s alright The interesting part is that current comp test vs the “new” life version and on “how Much” it improves or improved IMO a lot to learn and observe indeed!!

Spot on with the WTQ numbers! Is the B16 referenced in the video running PCT pistons and Jun3 cams or a close equivalent?
@SRDmotorsports
@SRDmotorsports 2 года назад
Close to equivalent yeah and didn’t get to mention these are “dynojet” stuff but Real Street showed more stuff too Another one last year or last last year did 203whp on pct on gsr head too! But 13.6 🤣😂🤣 The 183whp on reference pulled a 12.7sec in 2008 lol
@findtherightbeat
@findtherightbeat 2 года назад
@@SRDmotorsports What are your thoughts on running high dome pistons vs running milder domes but milling the head a bit to raise the compression? The idea of running milder domes seemed like a good idea on paper because it allows for good flame propagation and they say the engine is more responsive to throttle input in a way. However, I was able to speak to someone who did an experiment with his engine and ran flat pistons (zero deck) but still pinged like crazy below 3,000 rpm.
@findtherightbeat
@findtherightbeat 2 года назад
The engine pulls hard but it doesn't seem to like stop and go traffic and throttle tip in below 3,000 rpm
@SRDmotorsports
@SRDmotorsports 2 года назад
@@findtherightbeat I think the pinging will depend on chamber shape + valve axis/angle (not the seats) I do prefer the theory of a milder dome I mean I have pictures of an F1 piston that even the dish of the valve? The piston itself has a mini round bulge/dome for it to eliminate “volume” and the dome is not too pointy, should mean something? I actually plan to… once I get to do a b20vtec run 1Up mod the dome a bit cuz I can afford it due to the GSR head I have 😎 hehehe
@SRDmotorsports

Oh and “stroke” could factor in cuz not many realize that timing advance curve is shaped as good as it is but takes into reference the stroke and rod ratio = piston accel and decel

@SRDmotorsports 2 года назад
Oh sweet man! But “bitter sweet” as that’s one of the hardest challenges = to choose between turbo or boost 🤣😂🤣 as both are awesome!!! On an all motor sense though 200 might be hard but 180-190whp is something I feel easy for you, especially if you check both porting videos the earlier TypeR style and the later 242whp video as both are steps in sequence if considering full work
