My Honda CX500 gets an oil change with new oil filter, and new sparkplugs. 

Great video. I have a 1978 Honda CX 500 too. I plan to use mine for touring around Western Australia so its good to see someone else riding longer distances in theirs. It makes me optimistic I might not have to walk home. I will remember to add some spark plugs to my tool kit just in case I have to change the plugs ;-)

The CX 500 is a legendary bike and so far ahead of its time. You'd never know to look at it that yours could be over 40 years old. Great idea with the peg, btw, though, it occurred to me, since you're installing new plugs, why not just drain out all the old electricity and refill with new? And don't forget to flush. I've always been a big fan of flushing. Never liked mixing the old oil/electricity with the new!😉😂

You made a common mistake, forgot the flat washer when re-install the oil filter assembly, it goes as follows: transfer bolt to the case, spring, flat washer and then the filter, the washer is to prevent the spring getting into the filter through the rubber ring, other than that you did good!, your CX seems to be in great condition, congrats!!!

Enjoyed the humour Christoph. 😂 I find that you need a very high quality peg to stop the electricity from draining and it is both difficult and expensive to get such high quality pegs these days. So another option for the spark plugs is make sure that when you remove the spark plugs leads keep them above the coils to stop the flow of electricity….then the peg is not needed. By the way…any news on the cbx. I really felt your pain on the last video being an owner myself of such a superb motorcycle….Ross

The new bikes you cannot crank the engine over with the kill switch off, it it doesn't crank over

How many people are now buying a multimeter to check the oil filter housing installation and a red plastic clothes peg.

Do a full flush by filling new oil after draining, run for about half an hour, then drain again and fill up with new oil again, new filter and you are done, Off course it is expensive as you need two sets of oil but you will be satisfied after seeing the oil that you have flushed out ( the color) comparing to the new oil. You need to spent money and be passionate when handling any classical machines.

17:05, I know this was a joke, but for something as simple as changing a spark plug you have beginners watching this video to see how to things work. Funny for people who know what is happening but confusing to new people.

the brickhouse its not a real cx its a horrible american custom and y totally desagree he cutted the camshaft and weld a cap only just to put an electric fan ...its ridiculous
