I'd like to think if I worked with a guy, filmed many videos with him and knew him really well I'd at least say well done to him considering how great he did at that Creator Cup. 356 yard drive on the 17th not worth a little tip of the hat?

Let’s be honest Rick, you don’t have the game for that course. Too many wayward tee shots and a 5 handicapper short game wouldn’t have cut it. Peter Finch was the logical choice from the UK as he has the game and temperament for that format.

Tbh - Rick at the creator classic would have been as successful as Lee Westwood at Liv.

Thank you Guy for some common sense input too. Yes it was huge and terrific but no way it pulls those numbers if it was all the time. Many RU-vid guys get crazy with their projections on how big things could be. Well done.

Rick knows the exact reason he wasn’t invited to this event and the fact he tries to act like he’s none the wiser to it just highlights his ego even more. He’s not good enough right now and if he acknowledged that and humbled himself it might make him work on his game more and potentially let him make the improvements he needs in order to have a better chance of being invited to similar events in the future

Learned a lot about you and Peter finches character differences through this. Plus add on the fitting video that you took down for acting like a spoiled child toward another grown man, the curtain starting to be pulled back on how you and your team act behind closed doors

If the tour wants to legitimize this event, the field likely needs to skew more heavily in favor of the better golf content creators to keep it somewhat related to their brand. You have to factor in that this is a live production. I’m not sure how appealing it would be to watch a Steve from GG or BDS hack it around live for four hours considering the pace of play was already abysmally slow just for the last hole shootout to be the most engaging part of the broadcast. Love the thought of having the heavier personalities on the mic though.

You didn’t get invited for the following. 1- you aren’t good enough - facts 2 - your personality isn’t the best 3 - you only care about yourself. 4 - you treat everyone with contempt. 5 - your ego is far bigger than your ability Have I missed anything ?

Rick isn’t committed to improving his golf game. His decision which he’s entitled to. He prefers club reviews, podcast and whatever else. RU-vid golf world is changing and there are some serious players now. I think Rick has gone the Brandel Chamblee direction which is a shame

As much as I love Rick and his videos, all the golfers who were invited are a lot better than him, so I think that’s the only reason why he wasn’t invited in all honesty. Not trying to be a troll, just my honest opinion. They wanted the best golfers who are content creators, not the best content creators who are golfers.

Epic event and Peter Finch was solid considering potential jet lag...

I personally think Ricks exclusion from the event was not about lack of skill (they had Tyler Toney there for goodness sake), I believe it was more about Ricks tendency to critique everything on a podcast! This was hyped up, and made a big deal… so why bring Rick in, and have his next podcast be a Guy and Rick what could they do better show? Just my opinion, but I think they didn’t want negative publicity! Ricks recent driver fitting is a perfect example of what the CC didn’t want!

I’d love to see Golf Sidekick at this event. He is entertaining for sure and a damn good golfer.

A lot of the color guys caddied for their buddies that got to play. I like the idea of mic'ing them up during the round so you can listen to the convos.

couple of things: 1- This isnt a break 85 video. You're not good enough 2 - This was played on US soil...you don't collab with anyone unless they come to YOU 3- See 1 and 2

Similar to Guy, I hated the format when I heard it but actually really liked it when watching. The playoff hole & 4-person cut gave great competition down the stretch and an exciting finish of the top golfers all together for one hole. Some things for next time: - Maybe expand to 6 foursomes (but no more as 16 was pretty perfect timing) - Broaden coverage - after the opening tee shots, it felt like the Wesley Bryan show; I figured they would show most shots since they only did four groups - Just make Joel Dahmen the host 😆 He’s so good - Should have had more of the lead-in with the pros-all of the behind the scenes content that came out was phenomenal and could have enhanced the broadcast

Shocked at the lack of mentioned of Peter Finch here. He did really well at the creator’s and is a long time collaborator of Rick. Why the snub?

The fact that Rick wasn't even invited is mind boggling. He's one of the OGs in this realm and certainly had more of a chance to win than half the field there. I get that they are trying to appeal to a younger audience and Finch was already in there, but come on.

wes bryan should not be in any youtube event, he is a tour player.

If Garrett Clark came in at +6 and George bryan +1, I’d expect to see Rick in the +8 range to +9 range. It’s a tough, professional US course with fast greens and thick rough. Would have been a real pill for Rick I believe

Solution for competition: Do a best ball team event like the NCAA. The better player still records his/her score for a gross chanpion, and the team score counts for a team win. Its being done at the college level already.

I loved the event, the stream had 115k concurrent viewers watching live! I love the idea of RU-vid announcers and Professional Golfers working as the on course interviewer/cameramen.

Rick absolutely should have been invited. I’m guessing they maybe already knew he was away?

I enjoyed the format. What I would have liked to see is more content creators. There are many with the ability to compete with these guys. Rick included. Grant Horvat wasn't there either which was a travesty as he is rapidly becoming a very very very good golfer and a great content creator. I also would have like to see more than a final 4, maybe a final 10, and they would play another 9 holes with a horse race format where one person is eliminated on each hole.

Good golfers, who dont take their audience for granted and dont delete videos that refelct badly on the, got invited. Hence no Rick.

I feel like the should have had seperate tees for Pros and Personality. FP playing the same tee boxes as Brad, Micah etc was why he didn’t finish well. And the walk lol. Love FP but he can’t hang playing from the same yardage when he’s only hitting it 240 or so off the tee. G just had one bad hole or he would have been in it. Was super cool to watch the event. The PGA knows RU-vid/SocialMedia golf is catching up in popularity which is why you’re gonna see more of this. I agree it needs to be 2 times a year and no more

Rick should have been invited but his skill level on his average days is not up to most of the others competitors. Perhaps, if he participated, he could have hit from the ladies tees....just kidding but you can be inconsistent.

Loved the event but only one UK golfer, need to get more of our guys over the pond! Also surprised that Grant Horvat wasn’t there too.

Love the start like he didn't know it was 15 Americans and Finch. Rick has been dropping for past year. Scrap break 75 (unless with a big name) and probably create a UK type good good team. Times changing.

It’s a good way of seeing who cheats their golf standards on their channels. Lots of rumours of cutting and multiple shots per round to look good.

And to think at the start of the 1st group, the commentators we're calling scores of +15/16 --- Hmmmm!!!! I do agree, if it were 16 random PGA players without the "names" -- no where near the success/views. Smart, smart move by PGA-T and Blackstone!!!

Biggest problem is that on this episode of the podcast they didnt get to the Creator Classic or Tour Championship until after they finished rambling for 45 minutes

Watched it for a bit but to be honest it wasn’t my cup of tea really. It would not have been any better if Rick had been invited- too much fist pump bs. Our Rick does just fine with the quality stuff he puts out- he has great guests and great content 👍

Maybe get 4 or 5 groups of the near tour level players, then have 1 or 2 groups of the pretty good players all playing scratch. I always laugh at the idea of having 1 average person compete in the Olympics just to show how truly impressive the elite are. If Bob from Bob does sports got to play East Lake I think we could truly see the challenge that tour pros face. This wasn’t meant to pick on Bob as I know he is a way better golfer than I am, just using him as an example of a very entertaining personality who would enjoy the challenge. The group or groups of the lower skilled golfers could come up with great content while truly showcasing how much harder professional courses are than good courses across the country.

These 2 clowns are hilarious. Everybody knows that Rick struggles to break 80, yet still insists of creating break 75 videos. Evident when pros give him a 10 stroke lead and proceed to lose by 5 (actually 15) strokes 😂 (and then says that he shot 77🤣🤣🤣)

You have more subscribers than the official pga tour channel and would dominate searches if anyone went looking for the creator classic. It was very nice to hear your take. OFC you were slighted and it was a huge mistake on the part of the PGA. Few have played a bigger , more enthusiastic role in the growth of YT golf then yourself. I can only think that they disnt want 2 Brits....but thats too inane to be true. Anyway, if there is a repeat, your name should be at the top of the list.

I love golf videos from the UK RU-vidrs, but let's be honest here . Peter Finch is the best UK tuber creator golfer without a doubt, ball striking / scores & rhythm wise. Not my favourite channel, but that's nothing to do with him as an individual or the content. I just love the real friendships and banter that Golfmates naturally have. I do like you aswell Rick I just think you're not as good a golfer as you think. It could be because you're a busy father to young children and very busy with your channel and been a celebrity that you simply haven't time for really enjoying golf without a camera been present. I'd love to know what you'd score on a course of your choice over 2 rounds ( one with the camera and all the commentary that goes with it and one without where its just you and your thoughts on how to play in the present. I think you're lost in the transition between making money ( nothing wrong with that ) and enjoying a round of golf for the love of it and the satisfaction it gives you personally rather than entertaining you're subscribers. Acknowledge and respect defeat and victory. Know your boundaries and limits. But most importantly, never forget who you are and where you came from. Just some pointers that a very old woman gave to me once. The best advice I ever received in my whole life.

It looks like to me, that Rick was trying to make his own RU-vid event but couldn't get it done, and Good Good stepped in and Gazumped him, got it done and it was a success and now the PGA tour noticed and is getting in on the action... Rick looks a little cut by it all but playing it as all good but not attending... That and I believe his not up to the level of the other RU-vidrs... 🤷

Let's face it your golf game isn't that great compared to serious creators that played. Except for maybe the dude perfect guy you wouldn't have challenged anyone.

If they wanted to do two divisions where one is scratch/plus and the other isn't then have 2 from each on 18 facing off I think that would be cool. For one hole any YT golfer could beat 3 others.

Thought it was enjoyable, we are not expecting them to to shoot 5 under and neither are they !

Rick is starting to feel like the old guy who stands outside yelling at clouds. He wasn’t invited because he wouldn’t move the needle for the intended demographic, younger golfers. Plus like another poster said, he’s been so negative lately it would have brought the energy down. He won’t be invited to the next one and he will slam the organizers on his pod, again

Having Tyler & Busta shooting plenty over was enough, they wanted to showcase the best of the golf creators & for the most part their golf lived up to that.

Two general comments: (1) It is too bad Grant Harvard couldn't make it, and (2) For the future, as much as I really enjoy him, I would rule Wesley Bryant out since he does actually plan on the tour. One thing not mentioned and maybe could make it more even for the male creators that have a handicap is to play three tees, not just the two that they played. I believe only the woman (not sure which tees Gabby Golf hit from) hit from the forward tees. One could have three tees and the non-scratch/low handicap creators could hit from middle tees.

No offence, but I don't think Rick is good enough to play with those folks. I'm thinking Rick is an 80's player. Sorry. My opinion.

I just had a quick watch, and while Rick is a good golfer compared to most people he would have gotten smoked by the top guys in it. I thought Wesley Bryan was a pro anyway, he's definitely been in tour events.

I don’t care who the best yt golfer is but I really enjoyed seeing them play in a pro tourney setting. Kind of figured it would be Bryan bros, Luke, Brad, Sean, with garret and Peter right behind. Didn’t know Roger prior to the tourney but there’s so many good creators out there I don’t see why we can’t invite more next time like Rick, Grant, DOD king, taco, Ben kruper, and maybe Marty Borgy. Have bob and bubbie in the booth as well.
