I’ve been teaching twenty years. I am a maths specialist and have seen many changes in the profession. The biggest innovation is online teaching. I now work for a company called interhigh and teach only online. I have approximately 100 to 140 students a day from all over the world. It pays way less, but it’s fun and way less stress that’s for sure. I’ve never heard of VIP Kid but now that I have I will be sure to take a look, as I need a side income (perhaps I’ve just found it). I have been trying to setup my own online tutoring side income (with little or no success so far).
Hi, Kristen! It's so nice to see you! I opened this video and thought...wait...I know her! Great video! I am definitely following. I agree 100% that teaching is a performance. I think of Teacher Marlayna as a character. That's how I'm able to be bright and alert at times when I would not normally see the light of day! I did not know until I saw this video that you were a VIPkid teacher! I just started a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for the tip not to believe what I read on forums. ;)
HIIII! Absolutely do not believe everything you read! This job is what financed me through SO many performance contracts and helped when buying a home😊😊😊
I agree on certifications. As a six contract teacher with vipkid I didn’t have to do certifications. Adding anything helps! And forums are cray sometimes 😂 great video
Same that I wished I started earlier. It's so easy to open your schedule and then 2 weeks later regret it when you have to teach all those classes. Hmmm...maybe I should try the Hutong.
I suggest the Hutong - especially when students are a few minutes late. It's worth getting gift cards there! I suggest leaving the tokens in the Hutong until you know what you want to buy with them - once you transfer them to the portal they will expire after awhile! Amazon, Target, and Starbucks gift cards are great! I get Free coffee each month! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wq9g1rroN50.html
I'd like someone with a platform to point out how the $20 - $22 per hour is just not a reality for part-time. The new incentive system that is based on a tier structure simply won't allow $20 for most. In this new year, and using the Smart Demo, most are getting a base of $7.50 - $7.80 per class ($15 - $15.60 per hour). That is even with great credentials and experience. Also, reports from the live interviews with regard to negotiating are coming back as "sorry, pay is computer generated." Bottom line, this is still much better than a minimum wage part-time job. However, $20 per hour under the new system is unlikely. It's more realistic to think $17 - $18 including the incentives...especially for part-time. Thanks for your videos.
I am so confused. I thought you were on your other channel, but there hasn’t been anything on it lately. But I just happened to see this accidentally on Twitter. And there’s like a bunch of videos. ??? So you’re not using the other channel anymore? Anyhow..good to see you. I have always enjoyed your videos so much!
Hi Karen! I am returning to Kristen Marie very soon! I took some online projects with my online teaching platforms this year and needed to place my summer focus there! See you back on the main channel soon! Some new content too 😊
Hi bree! You are so welcome! the best advice I have on getting a student to become a regular is to make them laugh and to have the parents hear them speaking English! 😊
I see you use a headset but also play a guitar! What do you use so that the student can also hear the guitar? And thank you for sharing this great video!! And now I know about the Hutong - without you I would never have known about it! Liked, Subscribed and turned on Notifications!
@@KristensClassroom Well, I tried it but it still comes out garbled. I tried different audio settings, but it didn't help. My headset is high quality but is also at least 10 years old. What headset do you use?
A frenzy happens every Sunday - it is when parents book classes for their students. Today is Sunday August 11th and parents will be booking classes for Monday August 20th. Always 8 days on advance
Here's a description video - there are others that help with applying the booking classes with students ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IVdw_cirt_A.html
Kristens_Classroom haha I just got certified for it and had my first class last night , man ! I’m also currently sick with a nasty sinus infection and have 4 classes tonight - last class level 1😩
