thank you for going into detail! One thing i will have to mention is the windows have anti-suicide borders on the windows, thats what the steel border is with the holes, this is for every uni accom, but i 100% understand.
It’s not the same because I payed so much less, but I just wanted to share I finally got out of my 10m2 room and found a room triple as big, so I can make a wall of closets to not sleep, work and chill in the “same area” and I’m SO HAPPY! In the end I didn’t know how I SURVIVED in that tiny space! Now we can finally build more of a home ^^ having space in your room to be is so important
I just want to add something here, I don't have any mental health problems, but, being in small spaces truly messes with my head especially if they have no light, being in a dark room brings my worst thoughts, so I can't imagine what living in a small, dark and airless room must do to your mind, specially for that period of time. It's interesting to hear about student halls, I never stayed in halls at my uni in Cambridge. I had to live in a shared house with strangers straight away. That had its difficulties and wasn't very social as we didn't have a lounge (every room was converted into a bedroom). The house was also filthy 🤢 but I stayed there for the whole 3 years as it was £90 a week at the time. Think I survived because I used to go home every weekend to MK 😂👍

I have to move into scape as I’m starting at rcsi this fall and OH MY GOD I am not even there and there already driving me nuts. They have this exclusive deal with rcsi for housing this year but they decided to continue renting to non rcsi students until after rcsi’s start date. Unfortunately THERES NO ROOMS LEFT other than the ones that have a later start date so you’re stuck moving in a week after medical school starts. Is that the worst part? No because apparently THEY TOLD RCSI LEASES START TWO WEEKS BEFORE THAT- so now I tell my school at the recorded session and ALARM BELLS… The worst thing is we don’t get a choice of other dorms, just SCAPE (and I wanna cry)… it’s still better than my dorm at Cornell, a million times better. But it’s shaisa. It’s garbage. And they’re charging minimum 300 euros a room AND FOR WHAT?!?! Ripping people off, that’s what! I mean they are ensuring you have no choice but to book them. I’m super irritated bc I’m in limbo but I’m stuck booking this stupid place bc haha no other choices :/
