I was about to write and disgustingly explain that this is a natural phenomenon and list NASA website and such, then started to laugh as I was so relieved that you were joking. Glad you made it to see it, next one in North America is in 2033 and you need to go to Alaska to see it. Glad you had great weather too. Did you notice the 360 degree sunset? There were more clouds where I was that lit up red on the horizon so it was very noticable from my vantage point.

At first I was like "huh???" then I was like "oooooooh" lol! We were fortunate enough to stay right where we live and view the 2017 eclipse in totality, as well as a 95% totality in 2024. It really is a core memory for me, now at 38yrs old. I distinctly remember the sound of night insects chirping as it got dark. Such a cool experience. I do recall in 1993 seeing a very partial eclipse at school, but I didn't appreciate it as much as I do now, and the difference in seeing a small portion covered vs totality.
lol gotcha 😉 Wow that’s lucky to see 3 in your life! I saw one around 80% in 2017 but this time around seeing it at 100% totality made a big difference. I loved that it cooled off to feel like a summer night
At first i was like what is going on! Then I was relieved 😂 yeah relieved to say the least 😂 Then it was super cute... It was the Gammy for me! ❤ We are in Virginia where it was like 80%. My little girl and I just played outside and watched it with her glasses or it possibly would have been boring for her but we talked about what the different types of eclipse there are and what the differences are and she really loved it! We saw the 2017 one here at the same place but she was a baby so it was a great memory for me but her not so much lol but this was really nice for us to do together. ❤
