You are so right. What drew me to EC was the matching options. A caddy that matches my planner with pouches and scissors as a gift set, I would love that! I also miss the seasonal options that are not floral. EC is my go to for sure, but they should bring back some of the original stuff.

My first video of yours….girl you crack me up! I love your personality!!! Definitely subscribing! I would love matching fall washi in that design, fall stickers, some cute fall page markers, more coordinating accessories to evolve and bold blooms all year long… love that idea!!! Most definitely an interchangeable notebook if a notebook at all. Yessss tumblers, scissors, maybe a post it holder, accessory bag, something different, something unique… we don’t need more of the same.

I want to see coordinating seasonal interchangeable covers, well designed washi, matching pens, journaling cards, and stickers in these bundles. The best example of a company who does this is Simply Gilded. I bought their August sub box that is fall themed, and I’ll be using the items in my fall planner setup. It’s great that I don’t have to think too hard, because everything in the bundle matches perfectly well.

I think you’re right. I LOVE that cover on the notebook, but really, I don’t need another notebook. However, I definitely could use a fun cover that I can put on my planner. I think 4 markers, and 4 pens would have been great! I think a small tote bag - one of those you can roll (or fold) up small and throw in your purse for shopping trips would be great! And yes! Definitely more washi! The notepad is great! Wouldn’t it be lovely to have washi tape designs in those same colors as the notepad and the notebook cover? Maybe even something like a small pencil/pen bag - in those beautiful fall colors. It just needs a little “more”.

I agree about the notebook but also if that cover were removable and reusable it would make a huge difference for me personally as I love the design and part of why I get EC notebooks to begin with is that the covers aren't usually one and done. I still use the covers I got at Go Wild 2023 as an example (although those were 7x9). The rest was underwhelming for me because I've never had a good experience with EC gel pens and glitter markers even if they're dots aren't my thing either. I would maybe use the notepad and sticky notes for collaging but it's just not worth it for me.

100% agree with incorporating the design each season. I noticed they did make a fall interchangeable pumpkin cover that has the same floral design as this year so I’m definitely getting that. And I’m surprised they did that with this notebook in the fall bundle! So I approve of that.

I couldn’t agree more with all your excellent points. And on top of it all, the whole kit and caboodle is ho hum. Unlike Erin Condren’s caboodle, which is actually a lot of fun and a unique item. That’s the kind of thing we need more of, not cheap versions of notebooks and yet more notepads and post-it’s.

Hi, Chloe - Thanks for your comments and video. Love the ideas of keeping those annual themes going. I would also not mind new and different functional stickers that coordinate with the annual themes in the bundle. I do love both sets of pen samplers, but like what you said about a full set. I like that the bundle is functional. But, fyi, ordered this bundle, but was a little disappointed when I received it. This is because I had purchased a bundle, a lap desk, and some post-its in the same order. I knew the outer package would be a plain, brown box, because of the size of the lap desk, but I was still expecting a pretty box for my bundle and got none. The bundle was just in 1 clear envelope (like the stickers come in, for example) all together, and I was sad 😢. Also, I was surprised that on the inside cover of the notebook it was made in China, and not here at EC itself, and you are right for sure - I wish every gorgeous cover we get would be interchangeable (may they would just have us select our size or something) - don't you miss all those gorgeous, unique covers we used to get??? : ) As always, thanks for your video! 🤗

OMG FACTS!!! Give me EXCLUSIVE, SEASONAL, and VARIETY! The base idea of the original SSB and even the Seasonal Sticker club subscriptions were fine as they were! 😫 They have left behind so many good ideas and formulas, all we needed was updated items and designs!

I agree with you 100% I do miss getting lifestyle items like coffee, mugs, umbrellas, even like the plenty pack would be a great item to put there. I just feel like the last couple of surprise boxes have lacked the surprise part notebook when I buy it when I don’t necessarily wanna use, the value lately has been I don’t feel like it’s a good value anymore and I didn’t get this surprise boxes because I wasn’t impressed with the last couple. The planner and accessories would like to buy the surprise boxes if they started having surprises again but they’ve been very lackluster lately.

I do agree with you, to a point. Yes! I agree with the matchy, matchy end of it. I was like that in the beginning. But to add to that I would, as you mentioned, like the option to choose. I personally would like the option to have things that do not necessarily match, but go together. (Example: may have a different pattern, but the colors match - if that makes sense. ) I am so in favor of other functional products. Such as maybe umbrellas, maybe even a baseball cap. Even small car accessories like matching phone cords or phone cases. I would so be up for those items.

Great video Chloe! I appreciate your honesty! I haven’t bought any of the bundles, since they changed them from surprises to bundles with one surprise item. But I do buy surprises during the warehouse sales. So, for me at least, bring back the full surprise. When they did the SSB, I was never satisfied with each item, but I did like most of it and the other stuff I would gift. Next, don’t release all of the accessories at launch! They have nothing left to coordinate with the planner because they put all their eggs in one basket during launch. Save some for the bundles. Let us buy the planner and SOME accessories at launch and then offer additional accessories in a design theme that we get to choose to match with our planner. Add in a matching exclusive lifestyle and functional item. Lastly, in the winter bundle or whenever the last bundle before the April launch, offer some sort of sneak peek item. The sampler would have been an excellent way to provide sneak of the 7x9 Compact vertical planner that was released this year. This would give a little overlap to close out the year and drive interest for the upcoming release. Just my two cents! Take this back to EC so we can fall in love with them again!

Very appreciated! I used EC for one year and didn’t go back. The design style is very limited, and if that’s a style that works for someone, great, but there’s limited variety. The additional items are grossly overpriced for the quality. I would compare to something more luxe…Archer & Olive. I got their most recent quarterly subscription box (the monthly ones are cheaper.) That included a beautiful themed box, 3 notebooks in a variety of sizes with the ‘old school’ theme, 4 sheets of functional planner stickers, 4 rolls of washi tape, a 3x5 notepad, and a set of 5 double ended highlighters like mild liners in pale warm tones, all of the highest quality, and an embossed, zippered planner case that will hold an A5, 6 pens, and a loop for washi tape, plus slots for cards: for $75. Individually, this would be $300 on their website. The quality is exceptionally high. Imo, the EC is bougie priced for Wal-Mart quality. The pens looked cheap, the paper looked cheap, and I wouldn’t spend $50 for this. I’d much rather spend $75 for what I got above (I can’t remember how much their monthly kits are…less expensive.) The markers and pens look cheap, and the pens I’ve received from them before didn’t work well, and were Bic quality. I was not impressed. Anyway, there’s a ton of great planner companies out there. I would definitely shop around because EC is really overpriced, imo.

Thank you for your constructive review. I agree that the fall box fell a little flat for me. I didn’t know that the cover wasn’t removable like most planner/notebook covers. I would like to EC to stop recycling the same marker/pen colors over and over again. I think I have that same pink/purple/other color from previous boxes/bundles. I would like to see marker sets that coordinate perfectly with either the tab colors or colors in the different guided journals, ie: wellness journal, routine notebook, etc.. customizable bundles with all coordinating accessories would be value added. That fall notebook would have been 10x better with the matching gold coil or sunrise coil and a removable cover to change with seasons as you suggested.

Really enjoyed this review and thinking about my EC purchasing habits over time. I really used to vibe with the colorful/neutral option. Layers neutral was probably my favorite year of the last 5 or 6 years. I feel like the new neutral options are too dark and heavy- I have chosen colorful options when I never thought I would. I also love lifestyle items! And willing to pay more for items that are higher quality. EC is a TREAT for me!

I liked the stickers, covers - suggestions, folios, bands, bookmarks, pen holders, innovative stationary (like jetpens) , to make them more scrapbooking and memory keeping friendly if that makes any sense To be honest, I m not a huge fan of the lifestyle items, but I do want to extend the functionality and portability of my notebooks and stationary with creatively engineered items

Her planners are all the same with a couple new items thrown in there. Very disappointing. So Thank you for addressing this apparent trend.

Girl!! I love you even more now. I agree with you on everything. I did order the box but mostly out of habit. Even though the notebook is not of better quality than it should be- I still ordered the box because I'd still rather have it than not. I do love the cover and wish it was removable. You are right about us still buying no matter the price point (to an extent, in this economy). I would definitely like to see a full set of markers and pens, functional and fun items that match my planner. I want them to stop marking up the price then cutting it and saying it's on sale (the sale price is usually the price it should be as far as I'm concerned). Rulers, washi tape to match the planner or notebook would be great. I loved the manicure set that was in one of the older boxes I received (I ordered another one when it went on sale).

I agree with you. And the thought of having some thing that matched our regular planners is a really good idea. If they could just make a surprise box for each design or just make one that had different elements of each design in it, but with a seasonal twist, that be really special! More functional items are helpful as well. I liked the seasonal page markers, stickers, washi, and other surprise items. I’ve only bought a couple of surprise boxes, but I have used all of the items in them.

I have not been very happy with their last few launches. Lacking luster. I would like the exclusive desk top accessories they have done in the past.

Hi Chloe Loved the video. I personally agree with most of what you said except I personally do enjoy a good seasonal notebook . What I miss most though , is the surprise BOX itself more than anything, that probably sounds silly but I still have at least 7 of the boxes … I would always buy extra stuff so my box would be in good condition when it came in. I now have them as decorative storage.

Love you, Chloe! I think you absolutely nailed it! Also, gorgeous exclusive glittery goodness from the box? I want the colors to MATCH MY DANG PLANNER!! OR at the very least, they could have been actual fall colors? I don't get why they are always nearly the same 3 colors in every surprise box drop that have nothing to do with the seasonal colors and nothing to do with the actual colors in the planners for the year... and I like the colors they gave, but it just had zero rhyme or reason in a FALL box. I will say, I really loved when the boxes offered exclusive seasonal themed interchangeable covers. Because most of us have plenty of notebooks and planners to use them with. I for one want mostly just planner and stationary items so maybe they could offer a lifestyle box and a planner box? I think a ton of people want the lifestyle items so I think your suggestion is a great idea.

That is a bit disappointing. I used to the Erin Condren but have switched to Hobonichi type planners but I still love seeing what they are doing. The packaging seems a little blah but maybe it came packaged better? (Thinking of the pens specifically) when I order a box like this I want an experience opening it. It’s a gift to me and I want it to look that way. I now for product suggestions: planner covers - do an a5 sized one with that fall print and a fun closure; desk accessories - pen holders, phone or book holders, desk matte, - things that I will enjoy when I sit at my desk; something cozy I love a good mug exapecially paired with some hot chocolate packets or tea, a candle cozy socks that type of thing and last STICKERS :) - these all might be better suited to the seasonal box but just thought I would add them :) love the video have a wonderful evening

Completly agree with you Chloe!! I have been an EC-committed user for about 7 years now and I agree with the items we have been getting aren't as "va va voom" as it used to be. EC would make it SO exciting for all of their drops and you really did "need" those items to find planner peace, now, I feel like some of their items they're just making to keep making. I won't ever stop using EC but when I look back at how excited I was a few years ago compared to now, it's def dwindled.

I thoroughly agree. I am a very dedicated EC follower, and I so badly want to get excited about their newer products, but I just can't. The quality is lower, and their products just do not have the wow factor anymore. Even watching this unboxing, the pens and things just look ordinary, as if you could buy them anywhere. Lovely packaging and metallic accents on the products have gone out the window.

Yes yes yes! Chloe thank you for your opinion. I've been using EC since 2015 faithfully, non-stop. I would love to have a cuter box for storing my planners. Desk accessories that will display your planner during the day. I remember there was a Hello Kitty acrylic stand. I careless about hello kitty BUT I love that stand. Mini chalkboards with a cute saying, Actual EC sticker storage. I'm just throwing some things out. Since we are here and they may see this: an 18-month coil for the Daily Duo is long overdue. Love your reviews! EC really does need to listen to the customers more. ❤ I loved the colors of the notebook. Didn’t really need another one, but went ahead and bought the bundle. I really thought the notebook felt a little off….cheaply built? A bit disappointed, but the cover design was 🔥. If they had done washi, mugs, bag, etc I really do think it would have been more popular. I also agree that notebooks, or some kind of journal item keeps getting thrown into these boxes. Mix it up a bit and throw in something new/different. They don’t really have the 3x3 post its available , except the reusable ones. I would have loved to see some more 3x3 that fit into our little containers that match office accessories from a while back. Hello Kitty and I both turn 50 this year. I hope EC can make a grand slam box to help us celebrate 🎉! A unique box with Hello Kitty and her 50th celebration would be amazing!

Agree wholeheartedly. I ordered based on the notebook color. Was disappointed to see it was a notebook I could get at 5 below. Would have loved an Erin Condren notebook with interchangeable covers. The pens are fine, but they could have been more creative overall.

Dear Chloe, thank you for your honest feedback. I have been an Erin Condren planner girly for years. I have always ordered every single surprise box, seasonal item they have ever offered. I have been extremely disappointed in the bundles/boxes in the last year. I also truly miss the quarterly sticker bundles and the TRUE surprise boxes. Even the last couple of bundles have had a surprise item, like the summer tote bag. This had nothing special. And the quality is just not justifying the price anymore. The lack of seasonal covers, stickers, washi, etc even just available for purchase on their website has been disappointing. To your point, I want my planner and organizational items to coordinate with my lifestyle items. I would be willing to pay $50 for a bundle/box (with free shipping) if it had lifestyle items as well. If you have any way to provide this feedback to the EC team, please do.

I REALLY miss the decorative boxes they used to send and i could store my planners things on my shelf beautifully! Ask $50 for the bundle if you must but i need something other than pens.

I think they need two different bundles. One for the fans that has a little customization and one for the beginners. I think this is a great starter bundle. I love how this bundle all seems to coordinate together both as a stand alone and with their annual theme. Is it worth the $30-something dollars? No. With free shipping? Definitely. And as much as I love their tumblers and mugs- 12oz is too small for me. I need at least 18oz. I'm all for some exclusive stuff like lifestyle items or even washi or covers, but I think pens should be a sneak peak. I hate getting a really fabulous pen (colored wet erase EC pen 4 pack that wrote like a chalk pen, I'm looking at you!) and not being able to get more. And I kind of wish they would bring back the reversible boxes. So glad I saved all of mine!

Thank you for a great, honest review. I want nice coasters matching my planner… how about no more plastic coils… pencil cases that match a them… finally, how about a few virtual focus groups with people who use them. I was EC this year, but I want true customization so am moving to Plum Paper. Way more expensive and not as nice paper.. but I get extra sheets in every month .. I get custom daily pages and I can put in the number of months that I want. Keep doing honest reviews! Thank you!

Thank you so much for this video, Chloe. I appreciate your honesty and your charitable criticism. The seasonal surprise boxes were always a sure purchase for me. I haven't bought a single "Seasonal Bundle" or drop or whatever. I definitely have notebook fatigue, and can't justify buying a seasonal notebook that I know I won't work through with in time for the new season. That's why the changeable covers are so perfect. I totally agree with the "carry the theme through the year" idea. And yes, tumblers! Mugs! I would love to see old surprise boxes return at a higher price point, with free shipping. It's irrational, but I'm totally allergic to shipping charges. I will pay 50 dollars more as long as I don't have to pay for shipping. Anyway, blessings to you, dear. Be well.

I’m with you on shipping. The first and only bundle I bought was the Special Edition New Year Bundle in November 2023. Shipping was free, and I knew the contents of the bundle with the exception of one surprise item. A week or two ago they had a special sale on petite planners. I think they were five bucks each, but I’m not paying $8 shipping for a $5 item. Someone on instagram made a similar comment. I think when they do some of these special sales they should lower the shipping minimum. I don’t want to spend my rewards money on shipping either.

I enjoyed your honest review of the box. I feel like the quality isn’t what it was a couple of years ago {specifically the paper}. I have mixed feelings on the box. I’m not really into the writing utensils and I know I would have been disappointed with the notebook, not really the cover not being removable but the coil.. the fact that it’s a bundle not a surprise box makes it ok to me because you are aware. Of everything you are getting. That’s my 2cents. ❤

I haven't bought a "seasonal" box/bundle in a while. This box didn't inspire me. I would have loved if the markers would have complimented the "fall" colors of the cover....wine/burgundy, gold, mauve, brown etc. That cover is awesome! There didn't seem to be anything "special" about the box. The pumpkin pad and sticky notes didn't appeal to me. I understand that companies are going toward a lower pricing initiative to maintain customers, however, like you mentioned, I would have paid $50 for more "upscale" items. The half size tumbler would have been fantastic. As a longtime customer I was disappointed in the box contents. It seemed more like an "Introduction" to EC products.

Yah I haven’t ordered any of the new bundles feel like the older ones were better. In fact none of my stuff for this year is ec. I’m fully on the ring agenda and none of the inserts are What I want or need. Esp since they didn’t do anything neutral daily.

One of my favorite things about the seasonal surprise boxes, were the boxes! I've kept every one and love them. Something I've learned with Erin Condren is they can NOT do sticky notes. They do not stick. I remember the winter bundle, those snowflakes do not stick at all, it was enraging. Which is OK if I know ahead of time, and use glue sticks, but still... Also yep, I love the EC notebooks/planners for the covers. I'm so confused at the increase in notebooks with plastic rings that don't work with the interchangeable covers! Yes!! I love when my stuff matches and coordinates!! What originally drew me to Erin Condren was the updated Mid Century Circles stuff! Gosh, I've got all kinds of goodies in that pattern and even after several years, I still LOVE it! This year, I got the Bold Blooms Butterfly planner--so pretty, but gee, there just isn't much that goes with it. (yes, the Bold Blooms pattern has more accessories and is very similar, but I love that dusty purple and would adore having some other items that match it!) I love getting the notebooks, but I use mine in a way that many people probably wouldn't. I do Genealogy and use an Erin Condren notebook for each branch of the family. I take notes when I'm researching in them. If it's a notebook I can personalize I put the family name I am researching on the cover, otherwise I just make a label for the cover. Anyway, I loved this video and I'm in agreement with you. Thanks for another great video and your candor.

Totally agreed with you. EC is not good at sticky notes & should stop with the sticky notes. The cover is beautiful & pad was good.

Thank you for the review! I used to be "all in" on Erin Condren but find myself leaning away over the last year or so. It just doesn't excite me any more. That cover is gorgeous and imagine the highlighters in those colors! I travel for a living and my planner is truly valuable to me as a tool. The last bundles/boxes just haven't called out to me. They just seem to lack the inspiration I expect from the brand, and seem to be getting rather generic.

I agree. This year’s designs just didn’t resonate with me and I couldn’t get the size/layout in the design I wanted or coordinating accessories

Wait... is shipping not includes in this box? I love A tote bag. A tumbler. Lifestyle planner options that go with planner items that we already love. We generally all have a spiral bound item... so a match cover, tote, and tumbler would be amazing.

EC better pay attention,.... too much competition for them to start slacking now.... i love EC, but they always come out with the same pen, highlighters, etc.... we need newer products....also, that A5 notebook is the quality of the EC that sells in Joannes now, and it is NOT the same.... the paper is slick feeling.... i haven't purchased anything from them this year, and that saddens me.

See, for me, I really liked this specific bundle and I didn’t like the seasonal surprise boxes. I don’t like surprised to begin with and I’m picky about mugs, white-out and other items that wouldn’t be functional for me. This bundle was a lot more functional - I will use a notebook, I will use the pens and sticky notes. I won’t necessarily use the other items you mentioned and I think this was the way for them to balance across “super-users” versus those of us who use a planner but it’s not our lifestyle like you said.

I’m currently a HP, have been for 4 years and In my opinion they are lacking, hence why I’m here checking out EC, living in the uk, decorative planning isn’t really a thing, nothing like in US. I’m bored with the same ol same old and want to feel excited again about the products that I’m spending a decent amount of money on x

I’ve been a huge EC spender for years. The last year I have not been. Everything is repetitive including the florals, etevee, hello kitty, the lifeplanners. The stickers and sticky products only stick if you use them immediately. The gel pens are cheap. They dry out quickly. The interchangeable covers are not creative at all. They could create a coffee themed cover, coffee mug cover, etc. The products now are expensive and cheap. Quality control is a failure. I only purchase a few items from EC now. I’m bored with them.
