Thank you guys so much from the bottom of my heart. All your support and comments mean the world to me!!
How to layer for ice climbing, how to ice climb, what to wear ice climbing, what tools to use ice climbing. In this video, I go over my entire system for ice climbing from what clothes to wear, what gear I use, and what tea I drink!
Hope you enjoy.

If you want more aggressive tools and like the Nomics maybe try the Ergonomics. I've heard their phenomenal and work well for hard ice/mixed. Awesome vid great special.

Can you take a moment and reply with a detailed description of how you set up your Petzl Dart crampons? What toe bail (stock or narrow) are you using? In which hole configuration and are you using the front points in the longer or shorter config? Thanks so much!! I would also love to see a vid on how you sharpen and maintain your tools n' cramps. Love following along on the adventures!
@canadianboyz5520
@canadianboyz5520 2 года назад
Mate! I think it's different from boot brand to brand and sizing as well, but I'll share what I've done! I have the front bail pushed as far as possible forward to ensure I have the most contact into the ice with the secondary points. The back bail is set on the further backwards, but I believe this is just so the bail will sit in the correct position on the ball of my boot. My front point is also pushed as far forward as it can (there are two different settings you can choose I believe). The toe bails I'm using are actually BD toe bails. I find they fit the shape of the Scarpa front toe bail just a little bit better than the Petzl bails. I had a few times where my crampon blew off using the Petzl bails, and this was partially due to the fact that my boots were very worn down and the front bail was rounded down. But I definitely feel the BD toe bails are a more secure fit. Hope this helps!

@vincentboudriau4780 2 года назад
Kruko picks are available at Verti Call store online (they are based at Gatineau québec I think). I did send them a quick message about the outdoordesign gloves because they sound AWESOME according to @canadianboyz. They might not have them this season but maybe next year! :)

No cold feet in low temp with your phantom tech?
@TheMacroGravity
@TheMacroGravity 2 года назад
What do you mean by a more technical tool? If I was climbing stuff hard enough to want a step up front the nomics, I'd be going for aspeeds or skeletons or anchars. At that level, the x-dreams are a bit too flexible and the handle is a bit too pumpy (look at how a lot of the camp athletes at ouray chopped off their x-dream handles). Also check out the new forecast equipment tools if you mean more techy vert.
@canadianboyz5520
@canadianboyz5520 2 года назад
Just something that hooks a bit better on steeper and more featured/funky ice. I think I'll get a bunch of tools next season and try them all out, I'll make a video of course!

How did you find the sizing for the outdoor designs gloves? Any comparison with other more known brands (BD/OR) Trying to get a pair and am unsure on the sizing
@canadianboyz5520

I think pretty similar sizing. I wear a small with outdoor research, and a small with outdoor design fits me very well. I think it's pretty similar to other brands.

Didn't notice any mention of the smurf (Showa) gloves in your glove rundown, unless I missed it, but I've seen climbers wearing them in your videos- any thoughts on them? What conditions they're best suited for? For $20, I guess I should just pick up a pair myself and give them a try.

Great for any kind of wet ice as well as belay/rap gloves on warm days. Tighter gloves climb a bit better. Also great for alpine climbing when the hands are a lot in snow.
