My Iceriver Kaspa ASIC's keep dying!! (Part 1.. Overclocked KS3 power supply died)

This failure is on me because I overclocked the KS3 to the max, and pushed the power supply past the specifications.. however, I've had several failures lately on my Iceriver Kaspa ASIC's, and they have not all been my fault. It has been getting frustrating. I hope this video helps some people who are having issues with their KS3's, specifically their KS3's power supply.

Have a hashboard that's dead on a ks3m and a power supply that's bad on a ks2. Iceriver seems to be junk

@@bkizfoshiz I just had to fix the fan on my ks1 power supply. Now I've got hashboards going bad on a hosted ks3m. It's very disappointing

@@GreaterGoodMining I'd love a video on hashboard repair or key things to check to know what needs to be replaced or if the board is beyond repair and is no good as well as places to repair them. Ice river wants the entire unit to be shipped at my expense and it's between 400-600 in shipping alone.

@bkizfoshiz I think I'm going to have to work on that type of video soon. I have a ks3m that is being shipped back to me because multiple hashboards have messed up chips. Repairing the boards themselves is beyond my skill level but there are options. You could try to downclock it by 200 using pbfarmers firmware to make it run more like a ks3l. Sometimes that takes stress off and helps avoid further damage

Thanks for watching PJPLAYHOUSE! Some of mine have been solid, but others have failed unfortunately 😕 I'm gonna keep on trying to fix them until they can't be fixed no more! Lol

Oh noooo! IceRiver should def try to make a more sturdy PSU. everytime you buy a backup PSU it's cutting into your profits. Sorry man..

I have a KS3M doing the same thing. Hosting company is sending it to me right now. Might try to RMA it. If not I'll be messing with it in a future video

I've got a ks0 that I can log into.. sometimes.. it gives a 0 error.. once a 404 error.. but then logs in.. reset it to factory cause it wasn't hashing.. re input info and fan settings, sometimes says operation succeeded sometimes get error.. but still no hash..

Try a different power supply. I had a ks0 do something similar and it ended up being the power supply was dead.

That would have scared the crap out of me. I wasn't around to hear mine fail. I woke up in the morning and went to check on my miners and I saw the red blinky light of death :(

Thanks brotha! I wanted to FAFO and see if the fan is really what is causing the issue. It would be amazing if that's truly all it was. I'll look for the fan on Amazon, thank you!

@@GreaterGoodMining GGM the PSU fan issue will stop the controller from starting the mining process that i know for a fact when i tested the shroud i disconnected the fans in the PSU and the miner would not start mining and i also got the flashing green then red light, after plugging back the PSU fans in everything started to work, so yes if your PSU fan has failed your miner will stop mining, unlike the Bitmain 2pin fans that does not have an sensor the iceriver PSU does and will stop the controller from starting the mining process.
