I just remembered something. My Zhongli is C6 (Don't ask...1.4 and Covid bonus money enabled some...questionable thinking). This means that my Hu Tao can ACTUALLY use the new set to its full capability since he has a bunch of tiny heals that are constantly changing her HP. Holy shit. I can actually use the new set because of C6 Zhongli's heals lmfao. That's actually kinda nutty.
Fischl: Mondstad/Liyue: after release, a strong unit (win) Inazuma: Still a strong option Sumeru: dendro win Fontaine: New set win Natlan (Attack nation): win Sneznaya(Crit rate nation): win again
I haven't played in a long time, but I remember wishing there were more E-spam quickswaps. As always, it'd be pretty cool to get a great one for Xiangling. Reverse melt is very fun when it works well, but circle-impact without a grouper, and dmg that is far from my greatest. These quickswaps may also translate better to different kinds of content me may get in the future btw., as they can be less commital than a rotation centered around bursts. Then again, they may just do a bunch of stuff like ''While in burst, skill does more dmg'' etc., or make it require some other kind of commital setup.
@@Daniele-PierreDuLacYoimiya exists, ayato is also a normal atk carry but shime is kinda bad on him. Hu tao and Wanderer can use it but they're not from the Inazuma patches (2.0-3.0). Lets be real the new set is pretty broken (unlike shimenawa) and we already have some characters who can use it so its ok if they dont release many elemental skill carries in Fontaine
I thought the most interesting thing about Freminet was that his C3 increases his normal attack level and his C5 is for his ES (so no levels gained on his burst).
obligatory dehya comment, but her poise increase doesn't last long enough and you'd be choosing between er and crit. just shows how much they absolutely hate her
Prototype Amber will work amazing with it. 4~6% per 2s for 6s. Any hit will take more to heal back full. So itself will hold the buff for 11s. Tankfei with it can maintain the full buff for Hutao for her E (2 heal + HP cost).
Did you see the Freminet and Chongyun C2 interaction where Freminet's own cooldown reduction combine with Chongyun's C2 cooldown reduction to give him like maybe a .6 second cooldown on him E letting you spam out level 0 cryo waves
@@BadassHatdog I think that Freminet is viable without building for shatter, from what the leaks look like. I'm gonna be running him as a cryo DPS with Chongyun and Xingqiu
@@BadassHatdogHe’s pretty mid regardless, so you can build with virtually any cryo archetype you want. Just keep in mind skill spam means no normal attack triggers like Xingqiu. His best is national, but playing into his kit more he’s likely best in melt.
Honestly that's why I pulled for Key, there just isn't anything else viable. Spears have something, Catalysts have something. Swords don't, and there's a LOT of sword users that could benefit from an HP mainstat sword.
@@marcusaurelius4777I really want a 4 star HP sword, since my Nilou overcaps on HP so much if I get Key, so I'm just wasting my good artifact substats if I pull for it. She's suffering from success after I spent a few thousand resin on her, lmao.
@@hiimapop7755 The thing is Key, isn't just good because it's HP, it's passives scales base on HP so it makes HP have more value. The fact that the only swords that give HP% are a 5*s is very scuffed. (Jade Cutter has a passive if you're wondering what the other sword is)
Between the new BP Catalyst and the artifact set both dealing with a character being off-field it seems likely we’ll get a character that: •is a catalyst user •scales with Hp •Deals damage with their skill •deals damage off field These two passives seem to mesh too well together to not have a character they’re designed for.
This is a good question; I just got a Skyward Harp finally but I need to decide whether it'll go on Lyney, or if I steal Yoi's TP and stick Harp on Fischl.
Kinda? IIRC bonus dmg is not an easy stat to reach heavy diminishing returns because 1) it's not that common and 2) it buffs both aggravate and non-aggravate damage, and even with stringless + electro goblet + skill dmg set you'll be getting 154.6% bonus skill dmg, which is high, but not extreme (Raiden for example still has more bonus burst damage on a lot of her teams). It's possible that 5 star crit mainstat bows like Harp (which was slightly worse than R5 Stringless before) and TPulse will be able to jump Stringless in weapon rankings, but I don't expect much else to change there and Stringless will likely remain the best 4 star option.
@@Noctis2525 Lyney's bow is niche af. I'd definitely just stick with the TP. You'll probably have 2 stacks vs. 3 most times, but it's got great base atk and is a great crit stat stick...there's legit no reason to pull for Lyney's bow. It's not even really "Universal" like Yelan's bow where you just get more HP and free bonus dmg for being close to enemies. You have a crit DMG bow and crit RATE bow. You literally don't have to pull for any weapons dude. Maybe elegy if it's on a based weapon banner but I wouldn't really do that but u do u.
Don't forget about yaoyao healing. She does unique healing whereas whenever the characters get radish, they heal slowly in stream for a few seconds. It encourages players to use the flower of life because the hp is constantly changing (healing).
I'm really disappointed after seeing how they treat the Hydro traveler, especially in case the new Fontaine effects (pneuma-etc.) force us to use the new pgs and for those who don't pull, the hmc is really useless...
My stab in the dark guess for the Archon will is that she'll probably buff you for losing or gaining HP just like the new 4p but she won't be able to drain or heal characters. The character has to drain or lose their HP by themself to get the buffs. This is probably why Lyney and Lynette randomly have self drain and self heal and more future Fontaine units will probably have it too, so that they can easily trigger the buffs that require you to gain or lose hp to build stacks.
@@Perceval_21 She'll be niche if you only want to use your old, crusty pre 4.0 units. New fontaine units on the other hand will be able to fully utilize this type of buff if they all randomly have self drain and self heal like Lyney Lynette. Go swipe for new fontaine units now
honestly not really hyped for this first batch of characters. the only one i actually want is freminet and hes probably going to be mid, his kit is just so interesting but purposefully scuffed because physical. lynette is so bland and lyney is boring af because i find mono element teams in a game about reactions boring as hell. hydro traveler being bad but fucking hilarious shooting water finger guns is so funny to me but otherwise, definitely a bland 4.0 for me. at least my girls fischl and yae get more artifact sets?
@@pavel5129 as far as we know, take it with a grain of salt, she constantly drains hp from our chars to provide massive buffs. That drain is not current hp (like Hu Tao and Kuki) but max, and it can kill you, so it will take so e management to work. Depending on her application, icd etc she could well be as broken as Nahida. I'm getting my guaranteed Kokomi that I have been saving forever and waiting for her afterwards. I doubt they would ever release a bad archon.
i cant wait to go to Fontaine unlock the domains then play my xiangling hyperbloom against the new enemies with no pneuma combo so they dont stun then i die in my bennett field because they get mega ultra cock balls buff when you use pnuema focalors bathwater against them and not navia taylor swift eras tour against them

Literal cringe ofc from the Genshin community commandeering that. I was legit like what the fuck when I learned what that was ACTUALLY in reference to. Actual rape jokes O.o.
I think kuki is actually really good at enabling the flower of life set since she has very consistent healing on her skill for up to 15 seconds (so basically the entire onfield time for the set user). You can build her with a lot of EM so her heals won't fill you up before the end of your rotation. Just take some damage with the set holder first and then on their turn to be onfield, they have kuki to heal them up slowly, maintaining the set bonus and giving them survivability at the same time. My current hybrid EM build kuki heals for about 1000 health every 3 seconds, so i think with some engineering, she can heal for a bit less while also doing decent damage through reactions in some team. In short, Kuki just gets better and better with every region iktr
Of course there are still nuances with this playstyle since getting hit isn't the most desirable thing ever (especially taking a lot of damage from that hit which is the best case scenario for the set's uptime). However, as Zajef mentioned in the video, if you can make it work, 33% crit rate is absolutely insane. Also, i think that among the healers we have right now, Kuki is the best one to enable this playstyle. Yaoyao also work since her skill heals for very little amount at a time, but the uptime is a bit less, and her heal is a but more stationary, so she places only at number 2 in my opinion. It's very interesting to see that this set opens up a niche for small, consistent healing which is quite nice
Being played in mono pyro is like the lowest bar for any character, literally every character can go in a team with bennett XL Kazuha and do fine, the fact that Lyney is a mono pyro unit is pretty dissapointing considering how we still don't have burning, burgeon, or overload based pyro units
Lyney’s A4 shows Hoyoverse learned from their past mistakes. Looking at Ganyu’s kit, one thing is clear, it was never designed to be used for Melt. Melt Ganyu is great because of an oversight from Mihoyo’s part. Now, by designing passives that give buffs that work only when the character is used like they wanted it to be used, they are making sure this no longer happens. Ganyu, if she was designed recently, would probably have lower multipliers on her Charged Attacks and a passive like this: when enemies are affected by Cryo, Charged Attack damage increases by 60%. Additionally, enemeis affected by Cryo take 50% increased damage from Ganyu’s Charged Attacks when within the area of Celestial Shower.
Even if you had them, Ganyu’s Melt team is good, and based on the encounter it can even be preferable. It might be good because of an oversight from Mihoyo’s part, but this doesn’t matter.
@@aethernity8270 I mean Melt Ganyu is generally better than Freeze atm, Freeze Ganyu is generally only good with Venti vs enemies Venti sucks up which isn't common atm. Also, Mona is far better in Freeze Ganyu than Kokomi is.
Lyney and Lyneytte should've been one unit, and completely different, as like the headlining ones from Fontaine they really shouldn't have botched them up like this
Genshin content creator : Plz no leek in comment, we no talk leek here. Did I do good hoyo? Plz don't ban me. Zajef: BRING IN THE LEAKS BÉBÉ WOOOOO LET'S THEORY CRAFT THE SH*T OUT OF THEM
the free fishing sword sounds really good for c6 xq,, bc at c6 and currently with fav, he doesn’t really need that much er anyways and having slightly higher base atk would mean he’d do more dmg + also freeing up fav sword for other chars
I swear finally someone agrees with me on this one, I always feel a little disappointed in SacSword's low atk, and his ER requirements are non existent most of the time, so I always felt tempted to put some higher atk weapon on him like a Skyward blade. Let's hope this new weapon serves our * current * hydro archon
I mean currently festering desire isn't great on him so I don't expect this to be either. Buffing his elemental skill's crit rate does very little if anything in practice since most of his damage is on his burst. If you want to run a non fav/sac weapon on him the only options that are worthwhile are the 5 star crit swords most of the time. If you have enough er to not need much in a team Lions roar is more damage and if you want the er fav sword is just better.
Is it just me or did Zajef kinda conclude that none of the new characters and weapons are worth pulling for? Maybe it just takes a lot to impress him? Idk. I have to be conservative with my pulls so I don’t wanna spend on anything I won’t really love & use.
hydro mc being awful is such a huge troll from hoyo. currently the only hydro off field units who dont need normal attacks to function are mona and kokomi who the vast majority of players dont have, so we really needed a f2p option for ganyu (technically vape dehya too) and any team that needs hydro without normal attacks, and they got our hopes up with dendro mc being one of the best off field units in sumeru, but no hydro mc has the usual mid traveller skill and the burst is like if mona's skill needed 80 energy with a 20s cooldown and ran away from mobs
My only issue with Fontaine is that visually it looks so boring compared to Sumeru And as someone who absolutely hated WoW's underwater areas... this look rough
I thought it was gonna be more steampunk, like an actual modern city since they npc have always had modern clothing and technology but the city they showed us just looks like a normal genshin city, a mix of Mondstadt and Sumeru in terms of architecture and still a lot of nature surrounding it which is weird when you look at the new npc's clothing and the robots roaming around, it doesn't make any logical sense to me.
@@Rex13013same reason sumeru got a lot less dense tropical forest than we expected, detailed and dense scenery takes a lot of time, money and processing power on the devices.

@@restart6358 probably yes but that archon is gonna be pyro one which means next year at the very least. Lyney really hates anything outside of pyro as it will ruin his passive, and our archon this time isn't pyro.
@@hankoiba9032 not really? Emblem is good on many chars besides Raiden, same as Gilded. Shimenawa is a bit more niche, still usable, the same goes for Deepwood
@@impostorsyndrome1350emblem and deepwood are broken for the archon that was his point, not solely on them. The new one, if the leaks are true, will be mandatory on every crit team that can fit her.
Hmm.... If Lyney actually increase his base ATK by 100% in mono Pyro team, doesn't it worse when you have Bennett in your team increasing Pyro damage? bc Bennett also give a lot ATK.
After Dehya and 3.7 abyss I just stopped caring about meta almost all together and it doesn't seem like it'll change any time soon. Good for my wallet but not really good for my enjoyment of the game...
Hp and def are exclusive to key and spindle havers apparently. As for crit, we have HoD, which is a 4.5 star weapon if you can maintain the effect so it's not too bad.
@@F_Print a good game in my opinion presents you with multiple weapon choices for all classes and stats. They could have made a hp series with fontaine for craftable weapons like they could have made a ER series for inazuma and a EM serie for sumeru. HoD is nice but useless for dps or one fielder because the passive only works with at least 90% hp and making sure your hp are high emough is a waist of time. Also it's sad that this is the only option considering how important crit is and how difficult to build both crit rate and crit dmg can be. We have so many atk and ER swords already that there is barely any use of getting more of them. I understand a lot of the downsides that excist because of the gatcha system but i cannot understand why the weapon choices are so bad: it isn't a question which way i want to build my character (weaponwise) but if i can build my character at all the way it was intended.
Kaeya heals with his e and his burst snapshots. Maybe Finale of the Deep will be a great weapon for him (if it allows overheals). So E-Q and boom easily procced. Also wanna test that artifact set for Kaeya too, only issue is the cd for it is 5sec and Kaeya’s e is 6sec so he won’t be able to stack it… If you enjoy main DPS Kaeya like I do.
It looks like the hydro archon set is released starting on 4.0 like sumeru. Be a nice domain to farm if you got other characters built. I hope it's as fast and efficient as deepwood/gilded is
Attack % craftable weapons are underwhelming even with their high atk bonuses. At the end of the day, having low CR/CD with high attack isn't an option, atk rolls aren't exactly that hard to get, and often aren't even welcome in the first place.
I mean atk rolls have the exact same likelihood to appear as crit rolls, atk% rolls are actually less likely be rolled than either crit stat. It doesn't matter if atk isn't the optimal stat if it's 10+ rolls of atk compared to a lesser amount of crit. The sword probably won't see use over good users of black sword of wolf fang but it will see use over other 4 star options.
@@twigz3214 I really doubt it, none of the existing weapons require healing to gain their respective bonuses, so these new buffs seem really niche and situational, unless of course they decide to flood the abyss with rifthounds with several million hp, which they pretty much might at this point.
@@vladdyru I mean It's better than other 4 star non-bp options for Ayato and Keqing either way (potentially others as well), the 4 star dps swords are lacking outside of bp. The sword isn't super op of course but it's better than the alternatives. If you have bp or 5 star dps swords of course it won't see use.
@@twigz3214 I would argue that Isshin and Amenoma would probably come out on top, considering that they don't require healing to proc their passives. Besides, I think by this point almost everyone has a copy of Blackcliff or Lion's Roar, which aren't that hard to obtain. To conclude, I'm not saying that these new weapons are completely useless, they are simply too niche and not worth spending billets on.
I like skill based characters so these artifacts are promising, also if you dont run a shield and run kuki instead and just not dodge so much you will take damage and be constantly gaining hp and she goes down when she uses her skill too, not that she is used for her personal damage but its healing over time that moves with you. Might be a bit weird but could be viable with her as a teammate
And here I was waiting for a Pyro DPS that wasn't niche or had limiting gameplay like Hu Tao...and they provide one with even more niche and limitations. Sheeesh. I'm going to have to wait till Natlan to get some Pyro love.
@@marcusaurelius4777 Vape Nilou is cope unless C6. Dehya as a carry is even more cope even at C6. I mean an actual 5 star female that is DESIGNED for on field carry use. Not some support/hybrid. Think Wanderer, but female.

Couple thoughts: The Battle Pass Catalyst has some real potential on crit Kokomi The craftable Polearm looks like an interesting option for burst Zhongli since if you build him for damage without fav he usually has energy problems. This could help with that.
So sad about Lynette I thought pretty much the same when I read the kit .. They put her in the Teyvat trailer which obviously hyped up a lot of people for any characters in there, and then they give her the .0 patch free 4 star treatment. I don't get Hoyo ngl, this kind of marketing is so bad. Showing us the carrot on the stick for 3 years and it turns out half the carrot was rotten. Not a fan of this super mono-pyro focused thing either, 4.0 easy skip - even if I already have 150k primos.
its not really something new, Collei had an entire mangá focused on her, and her treatment was the same in Sumeru, besides her being good in Nilou teams, so Lynette mains still have hope.
Yeah probably the best thing they can do for her is make another xingqiu or maybe a hydro on-fielder whose damage will most likely be locked behind the burst. She'll apparently drain HP so her damage better be good too
Unrelated question: what characters can use DPS Gilded pieces, either as a 2x or a 4x? I farmed a lot of my Alhaitham and got some solid pieces on the side, i just dont know who can use it except for, like, Nahida if someone else carries Deepwood.
a looot of characters can use 4 piece gilded, like Alhaitham, Keqing, Yae Miko, Cyno, Tighnari, Hu Tao (if you have no EM on her, otherwise) or melt Ganyu
Mainly aggravate/spread units like Fischl, Yae, Beidou, Cyno, Tighnari, etc are the best users of them. Vape carries can also use the set but it's just worse than Crimson witch or Shimanawa's, if you have really good gilded pieces and questionable crimson witch/Shim pieces it can be better though.
Besides the ones mentioned, just, any dps who is viable with 2pc em combos. As in, any em reaction dps who you don't have a better set for, doesn't have a better set, or isn't worth the extra farming for the difference. Off the top for my head and not already said, for example, I believe vape Yanfei? I know a lot more people are building Kaeya now too, 2pc em is good for him and Rosaria both when they're doing Reverse Melt.
the crit artifact might be usable on a specific spread team something like using a really slow hydro applicator as a utility like barbara to trigger atleast 1 bloom eating a bloom damabe and healing it would get you 2 stacks if it works as its says
For Lyney I think that for most players Zhongli, Bennett and Xiangling will be the best team mates. He already gets a ton of DMG% from other sources and It doesn't matter how much more dmg you'd do with Kazuha if you're dead. (Granted some people can manage to go without a shielder while doing CA but a lot of us are on Mobile or Console). Not everyone is going to have Dehya and I think people are forgetting that her interruption resistance only lasts for 9s with a 20 second Cool Down, so Lyney will still get swatted around like a ping pong ball half the time. His main issue though imo is that if you already have Kazuha, Bennett and XL then you just need Childe and you have International, which not only likely does more DMG but is less difficult to play (imo) and has a strong counter to different elemental shields like the Baptist friend in our current Abyss has.
Who wanned Fischl and Xiao buff before Xinyan and DEHYA?!?!??? Fischl previously got even more insane after dendro release and Xiao got buffed from Faruzan. Dehya and xinyan crying in yhe corner and please Hoyo make Beidou and Raiden work together.
I'm pretty excited for Fontaine with what we know so far. I know everything is still under the mercy of "Subject To Change", but the changes after this recording were some little character buffs to my understanding, so it's still looking promising.
I can't remember the last time I checked Leaks on Reddit. I'm so out of loop with this game after patch 3.6. And Battle pass finally has new weapons?? You serious?😃
We have leaks on the new abyss leylines and you ARE going to need specific fontaine characters that are of a specific faction in order to clear, which means that abyss is gonna be dogshit for most non-whale players that did not roll for the newer characters of an alingment and element that they need.
@@certainperson Characters in fontaine belong to one of two factions, and their kits have specific effects that trigger on combat based on their factions (think of it like an extra pasive), some enemies have mechanics that require the use of characters of specific factions to be defeated
@@certainperson the ousia and pneuma alignment In the recent Khaverna World Quest, its described as "Light" and "Dark" energy that implodes on contact which has been researched by a Fontainian named Rene upon discovering Khaenri'ah ruins. that is prolly the "factions" they have been talking about for future fontaine characters based on the current leaks, it'll have special interaction* with one another even with different elements as long as its ousia vs pneuma (honestly, I wondered why they pushed this to be an internal elemental reaction, this could play well for 8th and 9th element that only interacts with one another) *even fontaine enemies can trigger that on your character not just you dealing damage to them, so keep in mind the alignment/faction of the fontaine character you are using as well as the enemy's alignment/faction
You don't need anything, it's like ASIMON or the Dendro chicken, you can use specific things to stun them but you can just brute force them with some good old international or hypercarry with a good build.
Eh... I doubt it... The leaks said she drains FROM teammates to deal more damage. That should mean she would play the role of the dps. So unless she's an off-field dps, hutao won't be able to function in that team. Hutao's best team, double hydro +kazuha already have really good hydro application and have ramping up damage buff cause of yelan. So hutao isn't really in the desperate need of a hydro+buffer cause it's not gonna make much of a difference from the current ones available.
@zakomimi4185 Plus having the hydro archon draining Hutao’s HP on top of her own HP draining and lower than 50% Hp requirements might end up killing her more times than none, if not run with a healer. And to add, Bennet with Hutao is a pain bc her charge attacks mis position her way too much to stay in Bennet’s circle reliably. If you add Corrosion from the Wolves that’s too much HP drainage for Bennet to keep up.
