Me too I can tell someone in the past really drove her down losing self worth I DID NOT like Stanley Kubrick bullied her in THE SHINING 1980; she's versatile and a good actress it's painful to see her like this she's too down to 🌎@@rickyvalentine5779
@@rickyvalentine5779 Mental illness is what happened. I don't doubt a part of it is because of Kubrick and the horrific treatment he gave her during the production of The Shining.
She is eccentric as many artists, creative people and geniuses are. You don’t hear people saying Einstein or Dali really let himself go. She’s more real and true to her craft of acting than many current actors who are pumped up with fillers and egos.
But she didn't let herself go.... Life is hard and she is a lady that has been through it... It takes one to know one and I am on my way to that level of striking difference of before, during and after the shit bricks that life throws becomes visible.
agreed..... it's a subtle way of judging her looks as if she's not allowed to age. People do that to celebrities all the time. But if someone said that to them, they'd be all offended... typical hypocritical humans 😆
For real you have to be blind to not see that's Shelley. It's so disrespectful. She just aged it happens to everyone. People have ALWAYS made fun of her looks and it's so sad
@@JamesSmith-qy3eu She's probably not in the right head space to do that. And given she is on set for a movie and with a bunch of people who have a hair and makeup crew? That's on them, not her. As recent as 2 years ago when Shelley was interviewed and has photos of her taken she looked clean and presentable but that's because they had a makeup team help her clean herself up in a way she's mentally and physically unable to do anymore.
Love her so much. Glad to see her smiling and talking. She was awesome in The Shining. When Jack Nicholson himself says he's never seen an actor work so hard or endure so much as Shelley did, that really says something. He said Shelley had the toughest job of any actor he's ever seen.
One of my ALL the time personal favorite movies since like... 🤔 9-10 y.o. 1st seeing it (yeah, cool parents Lol.) Her performance only gets better with time IMPHO , definitely.....😏
And having her as a partner must be blissful too. Dan Gilroy, who is her life partner, says that he dodged a bullet with Madonna. He used to date Madonna, but he says that he's so much happier with Shelley Duvall. That's saying a lot, considering what has happened to her and how she's changed. But just goes to show that personality and spirit triumph over everything. She makes the world more magical!
I think she's beautiful. She has her story in her face. You can see that even though she looks a bit rough for the wear she still is strong and has survived so much. Not only from Hollywood but from life. She still standing. And she still has that magical fairy world twinkle in her eye
I'm PROUD to say, that I'm in this same movie with Shelley Duvall ❤️ I didn't get to meet her. But we were both born in Fort Worth, Texas , many years apart. Love you Ms. SHELLEY DUVALL ❤️❤️❤️ SHERRIE RENEA LEWIS
For once and actress doesn't bend over backwards for Hollywood's unrealistic expectations of forever young beauty... And she gets ousted as being "crazy"... She is beautiful and you can see it in the way she speaks with kindness and a genuine smile, visible without facelifts or layers of make up and surgery and wigs.
@@ginjazz2836 At least she didn't turn gay and then try to "normalize" it like CNN and a lot of media does eg Anderson Cooper,Don Lemon, Richard Quest Christiane Aminpour and plenty other "talking heads n panellists on their crappy cheap news show ( supposedly world )
I watched a very recent video of a RU-vidr young man and his wife (I forget the channel name) who spent a day with her. The video was made afterward when he casually interviewed her, letting her take her time to reflect then respond. It was so heartwarming. It made me so happy and grateful that she's doing better. I would love to spend a day with her, talking and chilling out. 💖💖💖
That was GrimmLifeCollective, and I agree completely - they were very sweet and respectful with her, and did an excellent interview. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KreP9gicylk.html
@@comfeefort If I subscribed to every RU-vidr whose video I watch... nahh. If I binge-watch someone's videos, I might subscribe. I did 'like' it though. 🤷♀️🙂
She was a muse of the great filmmaker Robert Altman, and it resulted in a number of incredible movies. He dreamt about her, and out of this came Three Women, one of my all-time favorite films. Even the critic John Simon, the toughest of customers, praised her performance to the high heavens, and said that she deserved a writing credit, as she had improvised most of her own dialogue. And there's the whole thing with the Faerie Tale Theatre, a fascinating project that she seemed to conjure up out of thin air. Shelley was always really interesting -- she read science magazines in her spare time. There was, and is, no one really like her.
Yes!! Shelley in Nashville and 3 Women, 2 amazing movies. I can still see her instructing Sissy Spacek in the latter on how to make…tuna or egg salad I think… she emphasized how important it was to mince the onion well, as no one wants to chomp down on a big piece of onion! Great film.
It's amazing to see such an iconic actress that made an impression on so many children make a comeback after so many years. Her nursery rhyme collection and roll as Olive Oil on Popeye will forever stick with me in a nostalgic way.
Good for her. She’s 73 that’s how it is, we’re all different and age differently. We all go through difficult times, and health issues that impact our skin, hair, general health. God bless her ❤❤❤
I wish nothing but the best for Shelley! She was in so many great films! I hope this means she will continue to get roles offered to her! Hopefully she'll see one that she'd like to be apart of!! 👍👍
Love Shelly. This isn't my kind of movie but I'll watch for her. It would be AMAZING to see her in a Stephen King story of. She's still beautiful. She's someone many would love to have as a friend.
To Shelley Duvall,l: Bless you ma'am, and thank you for your wonderful work. And, for your work on Disney, which my daughter very much adored and enjoyed. We all age Ma'am, and you have done it beautifully and gracefully with class! Bless you Madam
Her Faerie Tale Theatre show almost defined my early childhood. I credit so much of what imagination I have left at 45 with watching that. I'm certain she has many great ideas left to share and knowledge to pass along.
She deserves recognition and respect and only good things. Talent, such as hers, is a sin to waste. I loved her in the horror film: The 4th Floor, with Juliet Lewis…she was great in that film as the meddlesome, nosy neighbor. ❤❤❤
I love her with all my heart I’m so glad she open to have more interviews and starting acting again she’s such a sweet kind soul I grew up watching her and she’s such a important person
i love shelley so much! she is such a hollywood treasure and im so happy to see her acting again in a healthier state of mind in another movie, a horror movie even better! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank-you for this film from the bottom of my heart ❤ what a gift to bring Shelly back on the screen where she belongs. A true artist of our time. This is a gem❤
I'm so glad to see she was in a better place mentally during the last years of her life, but damn it breaks my heart knowing she wanted to do more acting after this and never got to 💔
