Every iPhone I’ve had has had charging problems as soon as it gets to about 2 years old. I’m convinced they do this on purpose with the software updates.
Its mostly because apple chargers last 3months before they stop working. also my phone is 6 years old and it has a really bad charging issue! If your iphone is on 50 percent or lower it dies. Its really frustrating and i cant just buy i new phone
Mine just turned 2 and I’ve been having problems. I have to plug the charger in and out at least 10 times to get a charge. I’ve gone through at least 4 chargers this year!
@@lauraavila8929 i just cleaned the bottom of the phone and it didnt work so i tried it again i keep charging but it work...BUT its stuck at lowbattery so..i rub the back of the phone or you can just do anything to make the back hot AND I LEAVE IT FOR A MINUTE AND IT WORK (Idk if this work to you)
Dude seriously I've looked and read so many places for fixing this issue!!! These guys are the ONLY ones that mention a HARD RESET and it worked! Thanks guys! Yes, I subscribed 😆
yes because if the phone dies while updating it will corrupt the system and ur data will be lost . whats the problem?? thats with any fone or tablet or laptop
@@carolineplayzroblox3539 what I do sometimes is curl the charger up and around the phone so it's bent upwards and sometimes that charges it, sooner or later though it does stop working, but it does work temporarily
Very useful and informative, but I would like to share my experience. My Iphone was charging, but the camera wouldn't be recognized by quicktime, keynote or OBS. I suspected it was software as their was no wear and tear on either of my apple bought cords and could be found in the finder. I did a reset of all settings in the settings of the iPhone and it did the trick! It was less involved than a DFU reset, but it worked! People trying it should be careful that they are only resetting the settings and and not erasing data, but it was only one click. Thanks for the video!
Thanks guys!! I'm stuck at work until Monday and I was panicking because my phone wouldn't charge and tried moving from outlet to outlet, changing the charger cord and block. Finally, I remembered to use the laptop and look for a solution! Your video came up and I'm a happy camper now! APPRECIATE YAL HELLA MUCH!!!!!!! Enjoy your weekend!
You guys are terrific. I did the first 3 steps with no results and then I went and got a clean tooth brush, cleaned the port and it was like magic. Glad I didn’t have to do the DFU fix. I was guessing what the initials stood for
Small brush and compressed air worked for me cleaning out charging port on 6s, found itty bitty tiny lint stuff. Checked with flashlight and magnifying glass, cleaning more until I saw nice shiny metal inside
OMG,OMG, OMG - thank you!!! You both are lifesavers/phonesavers! Used toothpicks to clean and clean and clean out port… Still wouldn’t work, but I had a feeling the port was gunked up as the outside of port looked like a greasy car part.😱 Blew into port a few times, pounded phone on counter and, voila!, my ancient iPhone 5S has arisen from the dead 💀 Thank you, gentlemen!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you so much! I used a new toothbrush to clean the charging port and I was surprised to find lint in there. The connection is solid and my phone is now charging :)
Thanks guys! The hard reset on my 6 did the trick - had to hold the buttons for a really long time and I thought it didn't work, but I put the phone down to watch the rest of your video, and it powered itself back up. Once it came back up, it started charging normally.
well in that case if u have multiple chargers, you can use the one that you have for the phone you’re using and I used another charger that is supposed to charge this phone so it worked for people that have multiple chargers like me
Nah mine I notice the charging port is kind of lose bc when I put my new charging cable in the port it feels lose and it comes out easily it didn’t use to be like that before don’t know how it became lose
zeeshan adnan yeah it sucks it stills charges but I have to leave the phone still for it to charge if I’m holding it the cable will sometimes come lose I hate it
Thanks! This was what I needed to know. Cleaning the charge port on my iPhone with a new toothbrush did the trick! And now to make sure I'm backed up...
lololol fun fact- thats how they train their employees. u should see the stuff on the training to be apple certified. "tiny scratch on battery" -throw whole fone away lol. they are taught to treat battery like a live grenade. pfft i bend, pry, smack those batteries around all day lol
Thanks for the tips I almost wasted a trip to the apple store. Been struggling with charging my iphone for months now and now its good as new. Did a reset then cleaned the port with a tooth pick. I thought i had cleaned before but this time i cleaned harder and shined a light to ensure every bit of dirt came out. One less thing to worry about now :)
OMG I followed your instructions about holding down for 30 seconds and it worked straight away . Thank you both so much .I am so grateful to you both. You have helped an old lady who loves all the latest gadgets.I was cursing APPLE and wowed never to buy another Apple product .I have 7 Apple products
I’ve been having a problem on my phone for a couple of days where in some apps it won’t charge. Keep in mind this is an iPod. The hard reset worked great, thank you so much! You earned a sub!
I literally just had this happen. Had it plugged in all night, no charge at all this morning. Tried for hours with different cables, cleaned out the port on the phone, did a clean of my normal cable, and just when I thought I'd have to do a DFU reset on my computer, welp, found the problem. I was using a wall outlet for overnight charging, but as soon as I plugged it in to my computer it charged right up and works perfectly now. (still need to replace the battery, but that's a different issue) If nothing else, try a different outlet or try to charge it on your computer before doing a reset.
Oh my god, thank you. Life saver! My phone was at 10 percent, so I plugged it in. 30 minutes later, it’s still on the charger at 10 percent and I started to panic. I searched up what to do and found this video. I did it, plugged it back in, and it worked! Thank you!!
Same that happens to mine too but now it wont work! I dont know what happened it just stopped out of no where when it was FINALLY charging and now i cant get it charging again.
Thanks SOOOO much guys....the hard reset worked on mine! Before I used your " Magical" fix, there was a sliver of red on the left side of my battery thingy that shows on the top right of my phone, but right after the reset, it was totally GREEN! I don't understand how that worked, but who cares?? My phone is fixed.....I'm so grateful!!
My iPhone 6 wont turn on. While plugged in it only shows the low battery sign and that's it. Been left on charge for about 2 days straight and no response.
You guys are freaking legends ! I literally cleaned it out and bashed it against wood to take out the excess stuff and boom it’s working ! Thank you guys !
Thank you guys so much for the advice! My iPhone wasn't charging and after watching this I cleaned out the port and it's all good now! Huge thanks for the help!
Thanks guys, had the same issue with my I phone and I just found a mini brush to dust off any gunk/dust of the charger point at the bottom and it worked🙌🏾💯
Thank you! We are leaving on a trip today and thought we would have to buy a new iPhone! Your video has me operational in no time at all. Great tips and fun delivery!
I had an old iPhone that my grandma gave me because she got a new one and it couldn't turn on after 2 years but when I watched this video i could turn my phone on. Thx very much :)
The main issue is that apple replaced the old charging/usb port wich was with iPhones up to iPhone 4 with a new port, which while compact is flawed and really not up to the job. If I ever decide to switch to android or windows phone, it will most likely be for reliable charging - not for the software or other hardware.
Great video guys, but the only thing you didn't cover was the male end of the charging cord. I had one that got gunk on it and wouldn't charge. I bought a new one, had it a week and the same thing happened. I then noticed in my vehicle if it is not put into a cup holder or some other thing to hold it, it drops to the floor. I'm in the northeast, so during the winter water is on the floor. I now will get a charger that is the one you recommended. I'm just hoping its not a chemical reaction to the cheaper charger.
it actually can be more complicated than that when these instructions don't work and that you have to go to a repair shop and get someone to remove the dust through their own specific tool used for cleaning the inside of phone ports and then you have to wait it out. the serve is usually free in these cases.
wow. Hard reset worked on my iphone 8!!! The charging port suddenly stopped working completely a few days ago. Cleaned the port. Tried different chargers. And none of that worked. After 4 days of being restricted to wireless charging....I watched this video. And phone is officially working!
I use an iPhone SE and tried to hard reset it. It was charging all day, but every time I tried starting it it only shows the dead battery sign. It never took this long to charge before, but by now the phone is three years old.
“The iPhone software itself” The reason this sounds like BS is because at one point that software was new on the same hardware, and the phone charged just fine.
YESSS LETS GO!!! THANK YOU !! I HAVE BEEN ON THE BEACH ALL DAY AND I THINK I GOT SAND IN THE CHARGING PORT. i USED A TOOTHBRUSH TO BRUSH THE BOTTOM OF THE PHONE CHARGING PORT AND IT WORKED! OMG THANK YOU!! GAVE THIS VIDEO A LIKE
Thank you so much!!!!!! My old iPhone 5s is getting old and is giving me problems but other wise works fine I wasted 25 minuets trying different things and the hard reset fixed it lol but it works now thanks!
Michele Stone a hard reset was the last thin I did but I also took a q-tip with a plastic handle and cut it at an angle to fit in the charging port then I put isopropyl on the q tip and that fixed it
Thanks. You guys just saved me a trip to the Apple store so they could charge me alot of money to hard reset. Only thing I didn't try and after I did, it charged.
Thank you so much for your tips. I almost decided to buy a new phone after my phone stopped charging but I used the brush to clean the port and now is charging no issue. Many many thanks folks
