The whole bass verse was Chance... He has a 4 octave vocal range. Tim has a 5 octave vocal range. Chance was the bass singer in the group he was in before home free.. 😊❤ that group was called Street Corner Symphony.
The artist Cam was the first to record this, Home Free recorded it in 2018. If you want to hear more of Tim's higher range, check out his doo wop solos, like "Will You Still Love me Tomorrow/Stay" and "Why Do Fools Fall in Love".
I have full faith in the guys finding a new high tenor. If you think about it, Tim, Rob, Austin and Chance were all "replacements" for previous members and each time, they have selected the perfect choice. With that track record, they obviously know what they are doing.
I believe it’s pre-lockdown, because Tim had shorter hair after that. For more of Tim’s upper range, he has an album on his own channel called Pieces of Me, a doo-wop album.
Great reaction! This song is one of my favorites. So glad you waited to react to it. Your surprise at hearing the switch ups in the voices was great. Tim can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. And Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. This song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original.

@@KindergartenTeacherReacts They have so many good songs it's hard to pick a favorite. The Stargazer Lilies series is excellent too. Austin did an awesome job with those 3 songs. When it first started, everyone was talking and looking forward to the next song to come out. Believe me, there was a lot of us speculating about a possible marriage proposal at the end. But, they kept it private and got married on the sly, it was a couple weeks before I found out they had in fact gotten married.
I agree with your comments about Austin. Yes, they'll find a replacement, but his voice, his high notes, and the friendship they formed. It will be hard to match or even come close.

Cam did the original in 2015 and HF did this cover in 2017 and it has always remained in my top 5 of HF videos even with their expanding catalog of music. Their cover of Boys To Men, End of the Road, featuring Rob and Austin will probably be the one to even surpass this. Rob shows his soulfulness like you have never seen and is quite stunning.
Great reaction to hearing Tim's top range. You may now go listen to his solo of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay" (part of his doo wop album). Yes, this is a good song, but I can't recall if you have done "In the Blood" or "Go Rest High on That Mountain" which I think are even better. Chance was a bass in his previous group. Personally, I would vote for "My Church" and "Do You Hear What I Hear" as a couple of their very best songs.
They recorded this about 6 years ago. We Home Fries love that jaw drop reaction the first-time people realize how high Tim can go and how low Chance can go. This is a cover of the song sung first by an artist called Cam...and in the same key as she sung it in. Both Tim and Chance have very wide ranges and love to surprise people with what they can do. Home Free will be fine. We survived when Chris Ruff(Adam's brother & co-founder) left HF to do other stuff. That's when Chance came aboard. They have a plan, so don't worry.

Tim singing high and Chance singing low is why one has to wait for this song. Mayday is a cover of a song by Cam. The boys sing it in the original register (Cam is a soprano, I believe, maybe a mezzo). It is a bit older but after Chris Rupp left and Adam Chance joined the group. How Great Thou Art was the first video release after Chance joined. Brothers in Arms is impressive for them imitating a church pipe organ. Also, Ain't Goin' Down ('til the sun comes up) on Facebook is just as impressive for breath control and Rupp's no-,monica skills. If you just want to bop out, it's Listen to the Music (or a close second is Can't Stop the Feeling).
The guys chose to sing this in its original key as sung by Cam, a female country singer. Just proves their lack of having a female in the group is no detriment--they just let their profundo BASS handle it! 🤣 LOVE the versatility of our amazingly talented fellas!! 🥰. (The addition of Chance and his lower range to the group has freed Tim up to showcase his amazing 5-octave range a lot more!) Yep, Home Free threw us a curve ball, or, more likely, a switch up pitch! You had the perfect reaction! This is one of my favorites. I would recommend watching Cam sing it because it has a cool video. (But, personally, I thought HF sang it better.) HF has many other "wow" songs eg Brothers In Arms, How Great Thou Art, Do You Hear What I Hear. And that's just barely scraping the very top of the barrel. It's really hard to find a bad HF song.
Best song or favorite song? My top 3 favorites are “Mayday”, “My Church” and “I Can’t Outrun You”. Best song? Could be “Mayday”. Could be “Helplessly Hoping”. Hard to say.

That's crazy, he is insanely good. I did do my Maria, that's one of my favorites. John used to send that to me all the time whenever we were dating .. because my middle name is Marie. And that's what he calls me lol.

This was released in late 2017. Austin has joked that Tim could take over his place. When Austin was really sick during a Christmas tour a couple years ago Tim did have to take over some of Austin's parts. Fortunately, they had Chance to carry the bass. For many of us, yes, the biggest fear is not that they cant find someone to replace Austin's vocals - there are plenty of great singers, but that finding a right match in personality will much harder. But I have faith in their ability to know who is right/wrong for them.

This is the old switcheroo. Tim singing in the tenor range (told you he had 5 octave range) and Chance singing the bass. Chance was a bass before he joined HF so he’s capable. Tim can sing really high. There’s a cute song called Snowglobe that Tim wrote where he sings pretty high. This is a good one! Tim used to have long hair but cut it during Covid. 😍
This is my first look at your channel, apparently you didn't know that Tim is a 5 octave singer and Adam Chance a 4 octave singer? My introduction to Home Free was Man Of Constant Sorrow, but I've heard Tim's higher tenor range before Mayday. This is not a HF original. It was written and recorded by female country vocalist Cam (Cameron Marvel Ochs). Listen to her original ( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eRrCMEXPjWo.html ) and you'll discover that HF did this in exactly the same key -- so that's basso profondo Tim taking the alto solo! Chance was the bass in his previous group...and would be an excellent baritone/bass in any other group.
Keep in mind that Adam Rupp is the only original member of the group still performing with them and the group has been around for over 20 years. Even though Austin leaving the group may indeed change them a bit, I'm sure that they'll find someone just as good, simply different.
Chance was the bass in the previous group he sang with. His range is almost as wide as Tim's. Austin leaving the group has probably been in the works longer than we're aware of and he's not leaving until fall. Hopefully they've had time to find ang mesh with someone new to take his place by then
So, building on what @DrPaul-xf4no said, with Chance having a 4 octave range, and Tim having a 5 octave range, you literally have 2 singers who can both sing bass, can both sing baritone, can both sing tenor, and can switch it off between the beat on any given verse...
😢My biggest fear is that they don't get the best replacement for Austin. I think it should be another guy, nothing against a female singer joining the group, but they have always been an all male group, and I hope they continue that because imop a male singing high tenor is more difficult and takes more talent to do so and imop Peter hollens would be a perfect replacement.
You have a very high tenor voice. For u u might want to learn to lower it for authority purposes. All love. Great music. Bob seger is great. Peter Frampton is finally getting in the rock and roll hall of fame.
