Hello everyone!!
In today’s video I share my experiences with journaling, how long I’ve been doing it, why I started journaling, and more!! I also go through my ENTIRE journal collection, AND I even flip through some of journals and you guys some things I’ve never showed anyone before... ooh!!

I am 62 and have been journaling since 1975, when my senior English teacher in high school had us keep journals as an assignment. I kept at it after the assignment was over and have done so, on and off, ever since.

@@justceexo2145 I know you left this comment months ago, but what I find helps is writing about what you did, even if you did almost nothing. Then you'll find the thoughts flowing from your head into the pen and onto the paper. You can also write about prompt related things, such as what you're grateful for or who the most important person in your life is/was. Hope this helped

I am 12 and filled out 6 journals already. I've been journaling from when I was 10 and the passion grew more and more. I love journaling and it's nice flipping through my old journals and remind myself how I was 2 years ago and how I've changed! Btw I love your videos!

I just wanted to say, I used to journal in 4th grade and stopped because I was afraid that my parents would find out (wait for it.....) that I thought a boy was really cute. I then started writing again in 8th grade after my mom got me a diary at the scholastic book fair, which looks very much like your elementary school one but is purple. Now I'm a college rising sophomore and am finishing journal #6 (a journal a year). Thought I'd mention cause 1) sounded very similar to your journaling start, 2) I'm convinced scholastic book fairs have created a number of lifelong writers lol.

@@CarrieWalker for sure.. I begged for a diary at least once a year and got sad that this year and last year we didn’t have one because we weren’t allowed to even visit the library which was the area it was hosted in.

i’m fourteen and i always hated journaling. my sister (12) was OBSESSED with it since she was a kid and i felt like i couldn’t compete with her. when i went into 7th grade i had a huge crush on this one guy in my class and just before covid hit. I was 11, and i decided i wanted to start writing. I wrote a full book that lasted over two journals(the big kind with a ton of lines per page) and it was 597 pages long. I finished that in six months, then went on to re writing it all on my computer and that took my two months, i started writing on wattpad and continued that for a year, and then picked up hand writing again. now i’ve filled six journals in the span of six months and have written four complete books. i know no one’s going to read them but it’s a fun hobby and a great way to practice and improve my writing skills.

I havent thought about it till now, but I've always been fascinated with keeping journals/diaries since I was maybe 8. I'm 14 now and I have finally commited to a journal that I'm set on finishing. It's just so addicting. Also I really love your videos. They rlly get me hyped to start writing. Wish me luck! 💕

i got into journaling 10 months ago and i have filled 7 journals. it’s the only thing i’ve managed to keep up for more than a couple of weeks and i absolutely love it!! it has helped me so much in several ways and it’s so fascinating how i can change in a matter of months. my only issue is that i complete them so fast i’m gonna have no room for them. i don’t want to switch to writing digitally because i love writing things by hand, it’s another reason why i love journaling.

Journaling is crucial to mental wellbeing. So great to get your thoughts out of your head. Sometimes I'll do it dail, other times once a month. Never structured because I don't want it to become a chore

I recently went back and numbered my journals and put the from and to dates on the outside. Since they span over 30 years, I think it will come in handy for the loved ones who will inherit them someday.

At least you did start! I've, personally, always loved writing, I learned to read and write when I was four and started a diary when I was five. I only wrote in it three or four times a year because I was a kid, it is a nice thing to keep for memories, but when you get older, those tenth grade memories will be JUST as great as my five year old memories

Hello, Carrie! New friend here. Thank you for sharing your journaling journey. I wish I had some journals from back in the day! Of course, I'm talking A LONG TIME AGO - ancient history. lol I started nature journaling about 10 years ago. And I did some art journaling. But never a lot of writing. I just bought my second journal and I’m excited to use it, however there is one thing I’m concerned about. It’s stone paper, and I don’t know how things are going to stick in there but I’ll figure it out. I bought the journal because it was beautiful and cheap. $6, and it’s a navy blue with golden outlined flowers on the navy blue leather. I got it from Walmart.

Hello from the Philippines! I've been watching your journaling vlogs for more than a week and it really inspired me to write more of my journals, both non-personal and personal. I was started writing my journal when I was in fifth grade but my younger found out about it and shared it to my older brother. It was embarrassing. So I stopped it. Then I start again to do a journal in high school using my own alphabet. But it just half because I was perfectionist that time and lazy. College was the start that I do it everyday or sometimes weekly. I got inspired writing journal because of the story I read in wattpad and book. I got idea to it how to start writing my journal. I record the bad things, I observed to my classmates, happy thoughts, what I read, crushes, school, so on. I realized there are times, there are experience that feels like a drama in TV. I wrote two journals and finished it when I graduated in college. I also use a three diary apps in my phone like Lock Diary, Penzu and Mood. Now, I used Penzu. If I got a job I will use notebook again.

SIXETY NINTH LIKE Edit: I'm 19 and just started doing some journaling a few months ago, I just write down random stuff mainly so I can read it later or maybe even family members can also. Don't do it every day, do it whenever I feel like it, date and time my notes, but yea, thought I'd share. To be honest I could journal way more but it doesn't matter too much to me. Hi Carrie, i just wanted to tell you that when I was taking an A and P class in college the professor who was just farmer but taught part time said I know the skull is difficult to memorize and I don’t expect you to do so but because of just that reason alone I’ll allow 1 index card front and back to be filled with notes to help you on your test. Somehow my crazy brain thought excellent so I got the smallest font I could read on my computer and typed everything out. I realized come test time that all my figuring out what to put on that card helped me remember a lot of the answers. In fact it’s probably the reason I know more about Anatomy than anything else! Best of luck to you in college. Soak up those good times because they’re so much fun!

I somehow started journaling in 1st grade cuz my father gave me a really cool notebook with his name on it (my last name) so basically I started 2016 till 2019 then I stopped idk why then 2020 - 2022 I always write every 2,3,4 months which is kinda sad but after I saw ur videos I'm gonna try to write more often. I love that you did this for so long! I've been trying this now consistently for 2-ish months and a little bit on and off before that. My question is how do you stay motivated to keep going? That's mainly what I struggle with, motivation. Love the video

When I REALLY set my mind to something, I’m going to give it my all. My original goal was to journal every day for a whole year, and the writing aspect of it is what held me accountable. The “rules” I’ve set for myself also help too (like the fact that I have to start writing before midnight and I have to write at least a page a day). But motivation only does so much! There are many days where I don’t feel motivated at all and don’t really want to write that much! It’s the DISCIPLINE that’s important- that will get you so far!🙌🏻❤️ hope this helps :)

When I was little, I cut out ALL the pages in all my past journals, and I regret it SO badly. But I recently began Journaling after seeing your videos, so I started 2 days ago to daily journal🥰

I unfortantly threw out three of my oldest diaries i had when i was a child. I regret it so much, it would be so cool to see what younger me in 5th grade was thinking. I threw them out because i was afraid someone would read them. And now i have my diary/journal out in the open. Like i really don't care if people read them.

I have journaled off and on for years. I am now interested in journaling in a more creative/artistic way. I've looked at a ton of videos but it seems like most of the videos show people decorating their journals before they begin to write. What I'm looking for is help being creative and ways to embellish/illustrate what I'm writing about. I'm writing about thoughts and feelings, not daily activities. Grateful for any help provided.

I started writing when I was 10...at those times I just childishly wrote, not really caring much. But I stopped after 2 years and then last year I found the book I wrote and it was soo fun to read. Felt like a novel, which made me wanna start again but this time I will try to put in more effort :)

I've journaled from age 13 to my now age 27. I love it but after so long of writing. I got arthritis and cant hold my pen right. I suggest you to get vitamin c and fish oil. It'll help your joints in the long run. My doctor told me I should have been taking these vitamins as a teen. It would have been really helpful in the long run.

to be honest i think you should make a video about the prompt jar! what prompts did you write down/where did you get your prompts from? :D btw journalling helps since i have osdd1b and it's an easy way for me to remember things as well as communicate with alters :] your vids helped so much, thank you! i love your channel!

I feel this so much. I’ve actually thought about doing that... putting the dates on the spine or the sides of the pages!!🤔 I keep some of journals on a shelf and some in a drawer :) So much love for you Mrs. MacInnis!!
