I am not so regular but tries to keep it regular firstly I write about what's going on in my life and then makes a comparison between situation of the world and my life. I ensure writing the most important happenings over the world. And that's it 🤗
My tip Don't think that a journal is just for writing in. You can -- Draw -- Paste random stuff --Just scribble --Swatch lipsticks or other stuff you want to swatch --Paint A journal doesn't have to be ''Today I did this and that'' book Hope this was helpful for someone.
True I write in my journal as comic book pages because I like to draw and I would definitely recommend trying it for anybody who likes to create comics!
stop comparing yourself with other journal writers on instagram, pinterest and tumblr. don't be afraid to make mistakes. it doesn't have to be perfect. do it for yourself, not for the gram.
Coming from someone who has been journaling since I was 6 all the way up to now at 23 (I have 43 journals that cover literally all of those years!), these are my personal tips in alignment with the ones given in the vid: 1. I write before bed because I like to write about how my day went (anything exciting, concerning, or whatever thoughts weighed in my mind throughout the day). 2. I don't pay attention to making it look pretty, etc. Even though there's nothing wrong with doing that but I know people can feel intimidated to start journaling because they believe it has to be a certain way, but it doesn't! 3. Simply begin. You don't have to write anything life changing. The key to start journaling is to do just that: start. 4. I've stayed so consistent with journaling all these years because I've built a relationship with journals: they are there to listen to me and they don't interrupt. I can write whatever I want without fear of retaliation or opinions, and that in itself makes journaling my therapeutic go-to!
Thanks a lot but what would you suggest about writing it in gaps like l write(complete) a entry in parts. It's actually like a collage of my whole day.
Ohhhh lovely 😍I wish to make a journal at the age of 6 😍like you 😄 but sadly I didn't 😞now I am 20 , and I had journals past this year but I lost them 😐 Maybe I will start it again 😄 And wish to stay consist like you 🤗
I have 1 tip to share: Give your journal a name because if you give a name to your journal, you will have a small feeling that your not writing in a book, but sharing your thoughts, emotions and your daily life with a person. So do try this out, it works! :)
Me too! I printed 365 questions off the Internet and have been doing it for 1 year and five months.....I haven't really gone back and checked last years answers, but I will in the future. I also adorn the sides with stickers relating to the question I've answered, it's relaxing and fun.
I love this! I have been doing this with a 5-year memory journal I found in a book store! On May 28th I'll be starting the last year. I've read it again and it's amazing to see how the answers have changed!
Many people feel that if you are writing diary entries then you have to only write in that book But my tip is to include Paper collages Doodles Drawing To do lists And even some inspiration And just for fun you can print monthly calendars and store them in
I haven’t gone a day without journaling during the pandemic because I picture my grandkids going through it later on, and I also keep track of the numbers. I like to think that one day my journal will be a primary source for researchers.
I am in my mid sixties and have kept a journal since I was required to keep one in my senior English class. The teacher would read our entries and write comments in the margines. I would write comments to him about his comments to me. I have agoraphobia with severe panic and anxiety attacks and journaling has helped me keep what sanity I have left. There's no real trick to it. It is whatever you want it to be.
I have started journaling since I was in middle school. And it's been 10 years now. It is definitely a habit worth doing. You will be forever grateful for this!
TIP: - Don't feel sad because of it. (Blanked a month? it's fine, I have done it.; write one line on a page?, I have done it, couple times ; .......) - Don't PLAN TO share it with anyone else. (i.e. you can share, just don't write it only to share) - get some patterned paper so that at least you have something to stuff in there when you have absolutely 0 things to write about.
Yeah man, its just so difficult when you begin. For the first month I found it easy to write at least 3 times a week, and at most everyday. And then after that, didn't even LOOK at my journal for a whole 2 weeks, I wrote a one page entry (basically milking it) and then wrote two more times in a span of 4 weeks it was terrible 😂😂. But now I feel alot stable in writing. I've had my journal for about 7-9 months now
My journals have been my therapist, confidant and muse for the last 50+ years. It was there for the heartaches, for my entire educational career, for my dating failures to finally finding The One, for coping with the loss of loved ones, documenting the birth of my children, travel, moving, depression, health, high & lows, rants & praise. Every year I go through the ritual of picking the next journal. I look forward to it. Its even a line item on our budget. Also my journal of choice is the Hobonochi but honestly a $1 notebook works just fine.
I am trying to be regular in journaling. I always like to write my ideas, thoughts, emotions in a diary. But these writings are so scattered. Today I write here, then tomorrow I write in somewhere else. I am trying to organise my writings. Now, I do 4 types of journaling. 1. I have a diary which I always keep with me while travelling. I write everything I have seen or learnt while travelling in that diary. I have been writing it since I was 8. 2. Whenever I think of any new writing idea or I discover a new plot for story writing I write up those ideas in a diary, so that I don’t forget it. I also write story books reviews. 3. I have a diary where I write the quotes or a part of any book which I find inspiring and beautiful. 4. And finally I try to maintain a journal where I write the story of my life, write the story of my surroundings. It’s like a mirror of myself. I always come up with new realizations about myself when I go through it. This diary is really the closest to my heart. It’s my self reflection. Your videos are great. Please keep it up😊
for those like me who either 1) has a routine life so nothing interesting really happens and day-to-day journals would turn out really bland because *the same shit happened all week*, or 2) have the attention span of a goldfish and forgets to write for a while and then feels bad for the journal, the commonplace book they mentioned is a good alternative to having a day-to-day journal. just use it as an idea dump, thoughts you had on the fly, venting, whatever the hell goes on in your head. the book will fill up faster than you think, especially if you carry it with you. also, don't be like me who guilts myself over the ✨ a e s t h e t i c ✨ spreads you see from studytubes. i don't have the patience nor time for that, and it's okay if you don't either! or if you do! it's okay!! just slap the words you need on a paper and leave it, it's your journal that you're most likely not posting, so who gives a damn if you spilled fountain pen ink (guilty) or messed up the header (also guilty)? my journal ended up being a way to learn how to work through my perfectionism. it's basically just word vomit, so go ham. and if you want that ✨ a e s t h e t i c ✨ spread, start small and just find inspiration and things you want to implement from other people's spreads (DON'T get jealous!! envy is toxic yet temporary!! no bueno!!!) have fun staying sane during quarantine, y'all.
Thank you so much for this comment! It should definitely be a more popularized/liked comment so that many other people can see it too, especially to help people gain confidence in their writing! A lot of what you said can also apply to drawing too (personal sketchbooks, which can also work as commonplace books, are meant to be where people can go ham with messy drawings and to get the idea of perfectionism out of the way).
I have a tip... make sure you sometimes write some funny things so when you look back at it, you can laugh (I try to write all my embarrassing but funny moments because at the end of the day, it is private so it gets me really entertained 😂😂
I've been keeping journals since the age of 13, I'm 16 now and still doing it. I love to go back to my old journals and read all the stories. I've never been really into making it super pretty or using fancy supplies, I just write in a cheap notebook with a random pen, which is fine for me. I do sometimes really like to draw or paint in my diary, or glue things in it I used during the day. I've never really had a problem with motivation for my journal, I just do it every evening, but don't put too much effort in it so it stays fun 🙃 Edit: it's more like a diary, I'm not really even sure what a bullet journal is, but I guess that doesn't matter 😅
I never kept a journal before Covid-19. Even in my bullet journal I couldnt do it. But somehow I really needed to put my thoughts to paper. Now I want to continue journaling but I'm still a little uncomfortable with writing what's inside my mind so your video was perfect for me. I'm thinking of the commonplace book as I'm a teacher and I basically learn something new every day ...
I’ve been journaling every night during quarantine. It’s been very helpful. I bought a lot of stuff from JP to help decorate my pages. For me, I try you write two pages in my A5 each night. I’m also using it as a way of improving my handwriting and learning to hand-letter a little bit. I try to do a small creative piece on each entry. Sometimes it’s a sketch, a photo I glue in, or just add some washi tape and stickers.
I find that it motivates me to write more when I add in different topics here and there.... Like a quote of the month, a few lyrics from a song on my mind or a favorites list!!
I do the same in my journal. Usually song lyrics, quotes or poems to "break the page" because for me it is difficult to start writing on an entirely blank page
mhm write song names and the orginal creator and stuff, so in the future when you read your journal you can go through and listen to those songs and tha'll bring back memories! im going to start journaling today!!
Here are my tips! They work for me, and I hope you find these helpful. :) ~ Express yourself (drawing/painting/whatever you love.) Yes, its a journal but you can still do these! You dont need to have a fancy sketch book or anything. You can do it in a journal or just on a random piece of paper. 💫 ~ Dont have a printer at home? No problem. Cut out little pictures out of old newspapers/magazines. I find that vintage (90s) magazines have beautiful photos. You can create little quotes by cutting out words as well! 🌱 ~ Dont be afraid to use a references from people. If you are going to print out a picture from someone, give them credit! But you can use what they already have and make it your own. 🌸
here's what you can write or paste or scribble on your journal! (there's so much more than just writing about your day) 1.Your current and all time favorite songs/movie 2. A quote/line from your favorite book, movie or a song 3. Draw the things that makes you happy 4. Draw the foods/ snacks that you crave for 5. Paste little things like: - receipts - movie tickets (u can also write who u are with that time or rate the movie) - a cute random card or scrap u saw or someone gave u - a memorable picture 6. Random ideas/realizations about someone or something 7. Write a letter or anything to a person you look up to; may it be a celebrity, a person u never met, a friend, or a cute dog across the street. edit: 8. list the things you'd buy and do if you'd be a billionaire (just for fun) 9. list of must read books or must watch movies 10. draw ur outfits (from typical ones to the most fancy) hope this helps!
i just want to say i have been looking for something like this for a while now. I didn’t really know what to write, so i never began journaling but because of this i’m going to try and see what fits me best, thanks!!
you don't have to be perfect. your journaling is just as beautiful as it can be. no need to change it to improve someone else and get their attention. say what you wanna say in your journal, but its yours, yours to add anythig you want.
Also, you can even write morning pages where you just stream of consciousness write, without care about spelling or grammar. I really recommend Lavendaire’s videos for more about journaling and Rowena Tsai! Your journal is for you, if you want to reflect and then scrapbook in it, that’s fine! Your journal is marking the evolution of you. I hope y’all are doing well!
Thank you for this inspiring video and encouraging folks to keep journals, it's so important. My tip: keep track of weather and different events happening around you and around the world, this could be valuable to future generations.
I just journal on my habits and activities, regarding how I feel. when ever I lose myself , I look into my journal to explore that motivating voice within me.
I just placed my first order! I ordered a disposable fountain pen to practice with, a Pilot Metro Medium Nib, Some Washi Tape Stickers, and A Bullet Journal. I am so excited! This video was this inspiration I needed to order what I wanted to get into fountain pens and journaling. I love your videos so much. Thank you for all of your amazing content!!!
I’ve been an avid journal keeper since elementary school, and I still love doing it now! I keep a journal where I write down my thoughts and what has happened every day, but I also make a to do list for tomorrow on the next page. I’ve also bullet journaled a lot, and I’m hoping to get back into it! Thank you for this video!
I was also afraid of that so I didn't write certain aspects down. But like it stressed me out so much that I couldn't get it out of my head so I wrote "If you're not me and reading this, it's your fault if you can't look into my eyes ever again. It's how I feel and who I am. Get over it" and just having that written down helped. I mean I still hope that nobody reads it but it's really just my emotions at that time...
yeah I have a really good spot to hide mine. Even if no one is going to even look for it, it helps a lot with the anxiety of people possibly finding it.
I think that's part of how I developed my tiny handwriting. Most people find it pretty, impressive and unreadable. I don't care anymore if people read my stuff but I still have a really small handwriting, which is fine. As long as I understand myself the writing does its job
I just started journaling this year and it's honestly so satisfying. I write an entry at the end of every week and I always think that I wouldn't have that much to write but I always end up filling the page!
I have been journaling from last 7 months and it's very good Habit... It's very productive thing to do... Write down your thoughts, goals and about your life and much more... Everyone should keep one journal
Bullet journaling help me to get things done at work. I write in my journal about my day to help release any unnecessary worries off my chest. I must admit decorative/writing in my planner plays a big part in my everyday routine. Thanks for sharing those wonderful ideas I can use to help challenge my inner writing self.
If the narrator of this video talked with me every time I stressed I would be very relaxed🌼🌼🌼👣🖖🌈. Every time I stressed, she'd be like-"we know taking new decisions can be daunting, but if you are a more of a morning person then step no. 2 is a great way to start. You can grab a cup of coffee as pleasant associations can motivate you to write more☺️ Also ask yourself based more on important things like your work or your family. There's another way on which you can achieve the goal desired. Way to go!"
Her name is Antonia, and she's very cheerful. She presents another video by JetPens that is an FAQ about the company. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E01biyFu7Y4.html
I do art Journaling and memory keeping in a Hobonichi. I love all these new videos you've been doing around mindfulness practices. Nothing relaxes me like writing with a good pen on good paper with a cup of tea close by!
40 plus years of journaling. Make daily headers like Date, Time , Weather for sure maybe your mood. I am a memory/venting journaler. Make your notebooks your own. I have used everything from spiral bond notebook and hard bound to now a Traveler Notebook. Enjoy the Journey, Life is Amazing when you know yourself.
"Write about your day!" Day 1 : dear diary, today I did nothing but sleep Day 2 : dear diary, today I did nothing as well Day 3 : dear diary, guess what. Day 4-
I have been keeping a journal for years. There's times I skip days or maybe a month. My journal is my best friend and doesn't judge me. I write to write. And since becoming disabled its helped even more. I decorate every journal I own with stickers. It may seem boring to most but I dont feel right when I don't visit my friend
I love writing and I usually write in three or more journal books at any given time. It's always fun to go back and read what I wrote and where I wrote it. There are times when I just write the date, time, and weather. It is fascinating to watch time pass in your journals. Another thing, I have just given up on keeping one journal for one thing, I decided to randomize my journals. I can't just stick to one subject. Haha!
Love this ♥️ i am a paper pen lover too. But like i m a night owl and lights most of the times are off when i write. I use an app for journal. 😊 Looking forward to use notebook too.
Since starting 2020 i have been writing every night to create habit. It is working out great, havent missed a day. Writing longer journals is daunting therefore i am just aiming for writing any length of writing. There are few days with just one line to state how tired i was on that day 😅😅😅 but it is working out great. As the time goes I will progress into Month long writing challenge for short stories. ☺️☺️☺️
Dear jet pens, Your tips are amazing! To me Journaling is a special thing, when I experienced something special or saw something nice ill write it down. For my thoughts and all other things I'll use a random notebook. I'll fill it up with my messy mind. My journal is only for the special stuff!
here comes my exp. w/ bujo's i would make the most beautiful stuff and make calender spreds in advance and then never use them but then force myself to use them after I quit, i said to myself: use it when u need it and started writing in a diary daily (in the same bullet journal notebook) then when school started i had also to plan so i wrote down the most important things and write under that my diary things so i got more and more back into this and use it now daily and enjoy journaling like never befor.
I started journaling in 1977. It's been an on-again/off-again ride. I have about 20 books. I discuss struggles that I have had and i mark down periods when they seem to occur; managing money, setting boundaries with people, working at maintaining healthy relationships. I am also very mindful of things that I believe may one day become extinct and I include them. I have transfer vouchers from bus rides, Post-it notes from offices, hippie design checks from a checking account. When I was in grad school, one of my classes required that I keep a reflection journal. A good number of the entries included the academic readings and my interpretation on what was being taught. I was not always in agreement with the authors and I would take passages from the books and state my case. I used to include news articles, advice column articles, photographs. Sometimes the journal would include my impressions of a store or restaurant (that had been replaced by a computer website known as YELP). I still write my reactions to movies. i include new words that I have learned (in several languages). I've made photocopies of simple sheet music. I write about deaths (family, friends, celebrities). There are a few subjects that I don't share... religion, spiritual matters, physical intimacy... I hope this has been of some help :)
Whenever I start a new journal, I like to write a note on the last page so that it encourages me to finish my journal to read what I wrote such a long time ago. My journals last over a year and I have been doing this since I was 9 or 10 years old.
I want to write a journal/diary going on about my day but I want to write it in another language, i'm still not fluent, but i'm fluent in english. In english I can fully express my feeling extremely accurate since I know and learn a bunch of stuff advanced, that's why I want to do the same, just another language. I really hope I can learn the language fluently and hopefully I can write with it. 💚💚💚
I love your new fonts and colours! Thanks also for the tip that "you don't have to journal daily" which is important - I realise doing that helps me want to write more when not distracted by other hobbies. :D
Guys I’m most of y’all probably can’t white aesthetically but here me out I can’t either and I found out it’s super easy to write the letter like a typewriter does it super easy just adding lines to the bottom or top and it looks really neat on paper even tho it isn’t much it looks great!
Initially I try to journal once a week with all the contents saved up throughout the week. But sometimes I tend to forgot what to mention here and there, so now I just jott some stuff I want to wrote on my phone and transfer to paper some time later~
I actually just finished a journal I had since 2017 and each page is for a different day, when I just started out, every day quickly turned into when I think about it, which could mean months in between, but near the middle and end of my journal it turned into a once a week back to a daily habit. Now I'm a journal a page a day girl again, but I know I don't have to be, and I think that fuels my everyday journaling.
I love reading all these comments! I'm a holistic psychotherapist and love giving journaling assignments for mental health. I find all these journaling devotees inspiriting! During COVID, I created a couple online journaling course for Teachable (The Transformative Journal).
Journaling is really a best way to know more about yourself... And to amazing, your handwriting is beautiful 😍. It should be best if we get a tutorial for such beautiful handwriting
Hi my name is imsaal i am a big fan.Well here is a tip, if you really want to be productive make some collections in your journal to track your daily habits and more.Doodle and be creative, write some quotes to motivate yourself, and make a journal truly your own by customizing it with your own style, and try to be awesome every day.And donot force yourself, its your journal do whatever you want.
Tip! Journaling is for you, no one else, and there's no right or wrong way to do it.....so, that being said, if you have certain symbols/abbreviations/code words for things use them! Dont think you have to have complete sentences and propperly spell out full words. This isn't an English essay. Unless you WANT to which is cool too. But I find it helps with my paranoia that someone might read my journal to write it partially in code.
I mean u got to agree with me whenever she writes it feels like her letter formations are wrong and everything but when she gives the overview of the page it feels like the ideal language you've always wanted.😍🙌😁💕
Journaling has not only therapeutic effect but also helps me in getting crystal clear ideas about things that are confusing in this chaotic world....aids in better decision making 😇😇😇.... further helping me stay sane and hopeful.
I have all kinds of journals. My main journal for the year which is kind of diary firm. I dont write in it every day, but just when I feel like writing. Sometimes I write when I an really upset about something. Sometimes just to record a special moment. I also have a journal for each of my Granddaughters. They record "thoughts from Grandma" to be given to them at graduation or when Grandma passes away. They include stories of things we did together or things I want them to know. I write to them as if I am no longer with them and give them advice or share about how I felt at their age. I think they might treasure this. I know I would have loved to have something like that from MY grandma.
Is there any way you could do a video on best pens for people with arthritis? Like the ergonomic ones you did recently, but also ones with good flow that don't require a lot of pressure or a firm grip?
I would like that too. I have no cartilage above my right thumb which is my dominant hand. I read fountain pens are a help, not sure why, I am still new to them, but it does seem I have less pain anyway. Not always no pain, but does seem better.
Thanks girl this helped me so much I love to write but in my journal before I sow ur video I didn’t know what to do I named my journal Anne because I love to learn about Anne Frank . I journal at night before I go to bed so I can write about what happened in my day . The way I start my journal is Dear Anne this is my journal and sometimes my diary
I like keeping a travel journal. I like writing about my trips and now, I’m about to go on a camping trip with my school and I am thinking to change my writing journal to art journal. I can draw my experiences at camp (I am a good artist) and I also love drawing on the coverpage of my journals.
I've been journaling for over forty years, writing whatever I felt like, just for myself, and possibly sharing with others if I felt like a passage might be interesting to someone else. I have a footlocker type trunk with a lock on it to keep my full journals in. Sure, someone could take an axe to it and get in, but the point is: I would know. For the journal I'm currently writing in, I use a locking case from Vaultz, and again, the little lock won't keep anyone out, but it will keep anyone from being able to sneak a peek. I would know if someone broke the lock or tore the fabric. This helps with that feeling of being afraid someone will read it. Also, I've written in some of my journals some kind of disclaimer like: "If you're reading this and get hurt feelings, too bad. It wasn't meant for you to read. You are violating my privacy and you deserve it. Deal with it and be glad I didn't say this to your face in front of everyone else." LOL. Before I had a Vaultz locking case, I would attach various closures such as ties or clasps with maybe a luggage lock, again, not kidding myself that it would absolutely prevent someone from reading it, but it would make it more difficult and it would also be obvious to me if someone were tampering with my stuff. That alone is often a deterrent... just being found out. So now that I'm older and have all these books, it's interesting to look back and read them. Memories pop back in clarity that wouldn't be possible without these writings. They become more valuable as they get older and older. So it's worth it to invest the time on most days to write at least a brief entry about something that made this day unique, and create something your future self will treasure more than you may realize right now. Keep writing. ❤️
I've had a diary for 6 years now. I've only filled 20 pages till today but those entries contain detailed descriptions of important and fun moments of my last six years.
My favourite game is Red Dead Redemption 2, and in that game as the story carries on, the main protagonist fills up his journal as time goes on. I felt that that was cool, so that's the reason why i started journaling. I've also noticed that when I started journaling, I also found a will to explore not only myself as a person, but also the world itself, i started wanting to get out more, and do much more, so I think that that's why journaling is a great way to keep a healthy mindset.
How I started my journal/diary 1. I and my bestie hav secret codes so I wrote the code on my first page 2. How much I spend from my wallet I keep a count of the thing, cost, money left and date 3.write down a few passwords like email, gaming acc and school passwords 4. A cute quote to start the writing 5. A list of things I want and will need I hope these were helpful! ✨
im plural and use my journal for my system ! it’s basically how we communicate with each other outside of our inner headspace and lets us keep track of things that we may have forgotten about due to dissociative amnesia. it helps us keep each other updated and connected, especially when someone hasn’t fronted for a long time. keeping a system journal has helped us streamline and understand ourselves and help explain ourselves to other people who might not understand how plurality works
I've started journaling just recently and Im really enjoying it. I post the process in my channel. However I won't record every single one of my journals cuz sometimes i might write personal stuff in it or i just don't feel like it. It was kinda hard to begin cuz u can't rly think of the theme or type of journal u want to do but it's okay. You'll get creative as u go. Tip: U don't need tons of stickers, paper, coloured pens, pencils, etc. Begin with paper and a pen and get creative if u feel like making ur journal more colourful, do what makes u happy!
i write in my journal every a couple months, resulting in a loooooooot of pages of me writing almost everything that has happened between the last entry and now. i think i like this pace
